    watching this after this western final defeat😭the height and defense are what we missing this year

      Yeah. But even If we only had Dwight I firmly believe that we would have won that series. Dwight would tire Jokic up and he wouldn't have been as productive as he normally would. To have AD and Dwight as the two defenders to guard you is terrible odds for any all-time great player in the history of the NBA. Jokic only averaged 21.8 points 7.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 5 games versus the Lakers in the 2020 Western Conference Finals and the season after he won his first MVP.

      @@andreasmakoben2455 dont forget McGee. Them 3 giants defending the paint will disrupt the Denver's offense

    I bet LA would not have won the title a year ago without Howard! What he brought to the team doesn't show up in the box scores! He was the glue, cheerleader and his energy was contagious!

    Dwight did what so many former stars fail to do. Realized he couldn't lead a team anymore but knew he still had plenty in the tank to be agreat role player.

    Dwight Howard needs to consistently be on a roster where he’s accompanied by at least one elite NBA talent that possesses equal parts yearning to win & a youthful love of playing basketball.

    • @paytonpaciotti8243
      @paytonpaciotti8243 Před 2 lety

      It certainly seemed as if the business & media [scrutiny] aspects of The League, the timing of the ‘evolution’ of the game during his career prime that quickly began rendering big men(specifically those that can’t pose an outside(-ish) shooting threat) seemingly obsolete, & the few, unfortunate bad breaks of finding himself on lackluster squads &/or surrounded with halfhearted counterparts ripped the basketball soul from deep within his chest.
      I can’t recall if he was one of the few who made the leap from high school to the NBA but, regardless, imagine being so young, & having put everything you have into attaining this one, titanic goal, just to finally arrive & discover it simply isn’t much fun. That’s a nightmare reality-even with the guaranteed money.

    • @paytonpaciotti8243
      @paytonpaciotti8243 Před 2 lety

      It’s on some fantasy sh t to contemplate current Dwight Howard, paired with Luka Doncic, a fired up/consistently solid presence at PF(a type such as Rasheed Wallace or Draymond Green)-honestly, just someone who brings the intensity/attitude/defensive mindset out on the floor, even if not a “star” or bringing anything close offensively-, a point guard that can simply protect the ball/not give up turnovers, & a tall, seemingly harmless presence off the bench that shoots 3’s efficiently enough when in the moment/hold is own on defense(like, a very LITE version of Peja Stojakovic running with White Chocolate/Vlade/etc. in those sick, classic King’s uni’s), competing together for a run at the Final’s.
      Throw in a few veterans that are simply there for the love of the game, if not the possibility of some new, late-career jewelry, & a handful of hungry, underutilized, undeveloped players still only 1-3 years into their careers &, I sincerely feel, you have a team that would authentically be a threat to come for the trophy[*as well as a squad that doesn’t seem at all very far-fetched to find a way to acquire/construct*].
