- In this episode of Hermitcraft Season 10, Mumbo does a bunch of complicated Minecraft redstone. This Minecraft redstone piston elevator is designed to be the best looking piston elevator in Minecraft, making use of Chainstone, Minecraft piston feed tapes and other devices. We also do some terraforming, and some detailed Minecraft building in the episode.

I love the difference between builders telling a story and redstoners telling a story.
Grian: This is a fishing dock, so I want to build a decorative crane hanging over the water.
Gem: I also want to build a decorative crane to hang over the water in my fishing village.
Mumbo: These imaginary people can't reach their shops from the forest. I'd better build a fully functional elevator that will most likely never get used because all the real people on the server have elytra.

The fact that Mumbo's levels is at 324, and considering there was little change to his XP meter, and his tools are all the same durability, I feel like Mumbo just literally went a trip to the end for the SOUL PURPOSE of jumpscaring his viewers out of nowhere.

Dude I’m so proud of mumbo, he’s really getting away from the block spam builds, and moving towards builds with uniform gradients and chaos with a purpose! His builds are genuinely looking so sick!
I genuinely think this is one of the prettiest Minecraft forests I've ever seen. It captures the _feel_ of a forest, almost like a diorama or something like that - exaggerated and elegant and super beautiful.

Also heads up mumbo but your permit is for iron AND gold so technically the permit office can’t punish you for being out of stock unless BOTH shops are out due to the combined permit!
unless the permit officers decide it is a violation if either is out of stock. Still a good argument to have in your back pocket if they come around.
I disagree and would argue the opposite actually. The permit is for iron AND gold so you would have to be stocked with iron AND gold. So if *EITHER* is out you would be in violation bc it’s no longer iron and gold it would be just iron or just gold
Also, I know Joe Hills has been putting in new beacons lately, most of the ones I've seen are iron, but he might be partially responsible for the gold selling out as well?

Pearl came over here earlier on stream(she didn’t know the elevator was spoilers) and gave lots of compliments to your build and her one piece of feedback is that your buildings aren’t the focal point and are blocked by the trees

I think that's partially what Mumbo is going for, and once more buildings get added to the ledge I think it will balance it out, especially since Mumbo mentioned in the previous episodes that he's planning on putting overhanging builds further to the left on the ledge, I think that will work quite well.

The thing I love about watching your building process, is that you keep breaking "established" norms in the building community. Like, I LOVE that you overcrowded the forest. You always use the wildest color combinations and blocks to represent totally different looking things. But it works for you and comes together as your own style! I love that. It's great to follow along.

joke aside, not everything needs to be efficient. it's there, its usable, and it tells a story. 10/10 build that won't replace the elytra
I think the speed of the elevator is nice because it gives time to look at the landscape.

Someone needs to get the 'apartment selling' permit, and then charge iskall half of his earnings and become a business partner. If mumbo did it, they could start up a a real-estate company and call it 'sahara real-estate' or 'sahara...a shady business'.
I love how the elevator is slow, makes it feel sort of massive and powerful, like it was intended to be used to move some very heavy things. If it moved faster, I wouldn't trust it to lift me alone, let alone something heavy with me!

Mumbo really fears no one except a Grian with his redstone. Yet every season, without fail they're neighbors (with Scar as well) and im so happy they are because its my favourite trio
I love hearing your thought process about different builds and seeing how much you've grown as a builder - maybe it would be fun to take a leaf out of pearl's book and tour one of the other hermits around the new stuff you've added? I'd love to see their reactions :D

The elevator's slow speed adds to the world's lived-in atmosphere and allows you to pause and enjoy it, which is something I like.

Now, about the gold farm:
The gold ingots automatically go into the bartering farm. The bartering outputs all kinds of things (preferably into a storage system). For mumbo most importantly leather and gravel. The leather can be used to craft item frames. If Mumbo also makes a bamboo farm he can autocraft that bamboo into sticks allowing itemframes to also be autocrafted. This creates AFK'able item frames when using the gold farm overnight.
The gravel can possibly be used to make a trade deal with whoever has has that permit. Mumbo can allow that hermit to use his bartering farm to get gravel for a small weekly fee, thus also 'automating' the afk'ing part of the equation.
It's even possible to make an inefficient iron farm near the gold farm to also have a small passive income of iron. The current owner of the sand&gravel permit should be Scar. He's the type that would just mine it for hours, so if you (Mumbo) want someone else to AFK for you, ask him quickly before he start doing that. Though it might just be better to have Scar as far away from your farm as possible, with his reputation... 😂

Mumbo is a builder. I've been actively following how you progressed in building since around season 7. And I can confidently say that your builds have become absolutely amazing. The forest is chef's kiss and seeing you walking through it gave me goosebumps especially near the river.

Mumbo has been the sleeper builder this whole time for me. His building has always been good, but people never remember that.
I have found, when playing on multiplayer servers, that just giving some audio feedback is enough to placate the button spammers. So a take piston and stick it behind the wall, so when they hit the button they hear something. It doesn't actually have to do anything, just make some noise. It is like a loading bar, as long as it is moving, everything will be just fine, "working as intended".
Also, as a prank for Grian, just take a block and put a button on it. It'll drive him crazy for at least a moment.
Honestly this is like the perfect mumbo jumbo video. Complex redstone and problem solving, yet it doesn't clash with the builds he's making, AND there's funny clips every now and then :)
Sandstone actually comes in many colours. It depends on the geography and every place having sandstone has their unique colour and texture. I honestly love seeing different types of Sandstone IRL they are one of my favourite things in nature.
Also while sandstone is a sedimentary rock not all sedimentary rocks are sandstone not saying sandstone is only red and yellow just saying it might not technically be sandstone. I'm not a geologist but I would love if there was one around to weigh in on this

I think my favorite thing about the permits is all of the Hermits figuring fun and unique ways to circumvent the rules. 😂😂

I love how Mumbo doesn't do any further investigations into the Snails and just sorta moves on after discovering them. But i want to see a snail with a moustache, so it's also kinda disappoining.

yeah. i personally would gathered up the diamond blocks and snails and put them in a 2 thick box of obsidian with an iron bar window so they couldn't escape and asked who was missing a chopper. maybe even name every block of obsidian too
