I loved how Aemond took the dagger, symbolizing he's in charge now.
I like how Aegon was portrayed in this episode. He's obviously a deeply flawed character but he has a lot of dimensions to him. Aegon wasn't raised to be the actual heir. All the plots to install him were made in secret. So he was just raised as a spoiled brat with no real sense of responsibility. Both in the show and in the books he didn't actually want to be king, he just wanted the lifestyle, but he was convinced that if he didn't sit the throne then the Blacks would plot his murder anyway.
The issue is he wasn't raised to know what real love and affection was. His mother was basically a child bride and sought solace for her lost youth through religion. His father was too busy being King. So unlike Rhaenyra's children who were raised with both love and tutored to shoulder their intended responsibilities as heirs to the throne, most of Aegon's life is him seeking that validation. You can see how much of a people pleaser he is when he sat the throne for the first time to hear the petitions, he wanted to give everyone what they wanted, and in the fact that his own personal posse were chosen because they were "yes men" rather than for their skills as actual competent King's Guard.
It's sad that Sunfyre was probably the purest love he experienced. I really liked the scene where they greeted each other, that 3 second clip communicated so much about their relationship.
Even though the show made him quite a bit more heinous than the books I still managed to feel bad for Aegon which is surprising.
Aegon wants to feel needed, useful, and respected. He isn't getting any of that, which is why he began to unravel.
Aemond talking in High Valyrian gave me the chills.
I loved how Aegon only understood ~5% of it and the whole council knew

He was so annoyed his brother couldn't understand Valyrian. He tried to speak to Aegon in a language none of the others would understand, only to be very disapointed his couldn't understand it either.

Also saw a tweet yesterday, even if not what was intended, makes it a little easier to take. They said that as Rhaenys and Meleys turned back to fight, the little dip they take in the water was them saying goodbye to Corlys and her granddaughters.
I think Meleys attacked the gland that produces the stuff for their breath. Thats why it burned people when it splashed on them. And Sunfyre doesnt breath flame after that. But the trick didnt work on the Big Girl
I found it hard to believe that an experienced dragon & rider flew so low that it created a blind spot to be ambushed when they could fly a bit higher and be safer than not. Perhaps a young & inexperienced rider & dragon, but not the opposite. Poor tactic.
17:40 She is not that experienced and forgot to strap in before flying.. Its meant to make her look cool, like she is going all in, but it just makes her look stupid.. Maybe she can fly normally without that strap, but it should have been on before fighting first dragon!

aegon was my favourite character in the book, its so annoying that the writers apparently hate his character and decided to make all of his scenes focused on just making him look bad at all times
They are desperately trying to make him be the next joffrey But he really isn't😮

Show Aegon is way more complex as a character than book Aegon. Buy some book readers will never admit it
@@JENSX03 Any complexity that comes through is just cause of how much work the actor is putting in. the writers turned him into a punching bag where everyone is constantly insulting, belittling and humiliating him. they turned him into a r@pist so that nobody can ever sympathize with or like him. they removed his deep bond with his dragon, they removed his role in Rook's Rest, they removed any shred of dignity the character could have had.
wtf are you talking about, no they’re not, they’ve given him many complex layers and even a reason to feel empathy towards him. That’s an insult to the writers. Aegon is nowhere near Joffrey on the scale of hatred. He has good qualities and bad qualities, I would even say his character is more tragic than anything.

It's unfortunate that the house I am rooting for does not have my favorite character. Aemond is just so fucking awesome. Double threat with intelligence and ability in battle. Although, he has some issues that could be his downfall.
At some point I were gonna write "a long one", but than you've stated your opinion on what I were gonna more or less "ramble" about and it made it (me rambling) kind of meaningless.
But I do have a few thoughts of my own that I feel is sort of o.k. to express within this video comment section. First thing that came to my mind when I were watching the TV show episode myself.. actually 2nd... First was near the end and was quite obvious and I assume shared "Argh damn Dragon Violence" (now I know people who have actual compassion for animal suffering are actually much more prone to be and more often than not ~sadistic in nature, is more or less a common knowledge at this point and I am still stating what I am, while being aware). I can go on a long ~rant (actually ranting was what I wanted to type instead of rumbling, but whatever) of Dragons versus People overall worth measurement or ~value... but I want because there are too manny "assumed points" :P. And it is overall pointless as well. Second thought however was "the Kind took his mom`s advice ~to do nothing... too seriously"... I mean after the clash with the opponents dragon he more or less managed to be able to do less than he ever previously was and for the duration of eternity never the less. Which makes me go to my next line of thoughts (and this is not my actually long comment, that I deemed pointless on behalf of Blue`s thoughts on the episode)... That character was obvious believer... I know it`s fantasy and stuffs... but a bit of common sense shows that even if he most likely due to age and gender differential would have been able to 1 vs 1 best that old lady in sword to sword or many other person to person martial physical competitions... The combination of hard earned experience over time and action + dragon growth... You do not simply do your "Dragon Rider teachers told you Dracanis for Fire" and win out of that under those circumstances... And in spite of being titled he seemed not suicidal (excuse me for that word, it`s sensitive one) so he than must have been ~stupid. Even thou I've heard people say "Speak of the dead good or nothing at all". As for the next clash... exactly on this re watch on Blue`s channel... I noticed after their first clash the Larger dragon (I don`t actually exactly remember the names of the rides without thinking about it and I don`t wanna think about it, I do remember the large dragon but he is more or less named of a League of Legends character and I refuse to call him that for ~reasons... Instead I am gonna quote one of the LoL character`s in game voice lines "Even Now Your loved Ones Suffer".) weren`t in pursuit, so is not like she were pressured into turned back and fighting... Sure she were leaving a castle to be taken over or destroyed... But well... she is of the side with the number advantage and her dragon weren`t as badly wounded to be unable to recover so that she`d just wanna kind of go with it rather than without it. The side with the less dragons (outside of the very large one being obviously quite the advantage) actually had the 2 vs 1 on the side with more dragons... Honor aside if she truly wanted to win she could have just called it a day and returned in a more suiting circumstances with numbers... Maybe unlike the ~I am once again sorry (according to my argument) stupid (and now dead) king, she were the "kys" one (Once Dyrus got banned out of his short game time in BDO for verbally saying those 3 letters to player that PKed him during travel, but like I am not telling it to anyone in particular so don`t hold it against me). But on the surface she had her husband back... were 3rd in command if not higher on a large and wealthy side... so it seemed a bit ~forced to me. There were not and should have not been anything that would actually make her go back... Except it the idea was to depict a non foreseeable pride burst that would instantly turn her Believer ~king style. "I beat the smaller much less experienced dragon so I surely will now match the top dog on the current field in the 1 vs 1"... aaand R.I.P... she did had him downed thou, but I guess afterwards continuation could not be helped... and yes... That pop From behind the Castle was a bit.... I think the larger dragon should have straight up run her down in vengeance because actually less agile certainly but size is definitely not detriment for pure straight line speed when enough power is present and the smaller dragon as much more "banged up" from the collision and somewhat fried as well... Having to "blind side" it under those circumstances was a bit too much of a reverence to the potential left over combat power to the interior combatant unit~ in my humble opinion.

i wonder if vhagar is the last standing dragon having killed all others in the end of the series. and then dying of old age, thereby leaving the world without dragons, since its set 200 years before ice and fire. youd think a battlehardened dragon would be able to do a bit more damage though, i was so looking forward to seeing the queen that never was get in to a more fearse battle then just falling short when facing a bigger dragon.

Rhaenys knows she's at fault for not ending the war before. I think that's why she tried to kill vhagar. And vhagar is not really damaged much, she's still combat ready. Which is a shame, if she was at least incapacitated or slowed down , the blacks could've just ganged up on her
