This was the last Rangers game I saw before I moved to the states. I went to the first leg, but this was the last game I saw. I remember it was live on TV in a time when there weren't many live games on TV.
I had one however got lost between house moves or wife chucked it out like quite a few 1970/80's programmes... I have never ever let her forget that! lol 😂 😂
Arsenal came close to being the first team to achieve the domestic treble in 1998, but like Liverpool they came up short in the 2nd leg of the league cup semi against Chelsea. Man Utd nearly achieved it in 1994 but lost to Aston Villa in the league cup final. Man City finally achieved it in 2019.
CAN'T BELIEVE THAT QPR DIDN'T GET SWEPT ASIDE!OXFORD WERE REALLY UP FOR THE FINAL.QPR LOST 1-4 AT LIVERPOOL,MAYBE EVEN THE SATURDAY FOLLOWING.WASN'T EXPECTING OXFORD V QPR FOR THE LEAGUE FINAL.IT WAS ARSENAL V LIVERPOOL THE FOLLOWING SEASON WASN'T IT? THAT WAS ANOTHER BRILLIANT MATCH!
This is the last time Liverpool tried to make it to the league cup final after losing the first leg of the semi 1-0 until 2017 be interesting to see if history repeats itself
What happened to football is one thing. MONEY!! Thats why we cant relate to them all anymore & its thanks (not me) to Mr Murdoch & Sky/Cable etc. If everyone packed in Sky BT et al & just had Freeview the honey money would collapse within a year. And bring back the football we used from mid 60s to '99 approx & ditch this big ping pong ball we have now. It would be interesting to see how todays fballers could cope with it. Not I think. Yes the ball has changed from late Victorian to now. The 50s ball was a nightmare. A ball breaker! But' 66 World Cup is when it brought the modern ball and served us well for nearly 50 years. It had the right balance. Still thats the past & thankgod to CZcams we can relive it!!
Brilliant memories of watching this with my dad RIP 😢. We were both sitting on the front room floor for some reason lol.
QPR Guinness top probably the best ever shirt made.
Agreed
Great game great night out was there with coach load from northolt
Was just reading about watching this in my diary and thought I would relive that moment!

Bloody hilarious, beating the Scousers with 2 own goals😆
Shame we didn't turn up at Wembley, goddammit
My fav QPR shirt, a classic.
Fantastic strip, The Classic FM kit was probably the next best followed closely by the 81/82 kit.

Even great teams can have a bad day at the stadium. Not a pool fan, but King Kenny did go on to secure a double in his first season at the helm.
best video on youtube. legends.
great team - robbed them of the treble. rubbish crowd as live on TV

It should have been a domestic treble for Liverpool. Strange seeing Sammy Lee wearing no 2 and Gillespie wearing 7

And it did😖😖
28½ years later QPR are beaten at home by Liverpool due to two own goals.
Who says these things don't even themselves out!
