My husband and I were working at the Texas Renaissance Festival one year, so we camped there on the weekends. The first weekend, the campsite was very quiet, (all the workers rose around 5:30am).
It was about 11:00pm, and in the tent, my husband and I were talking in normal voices, and from clear across the campground, someone said, "Would you keep it down? Just because you have four walls and a roof, doesn't mean you are home. If you start having sex, I'm coming over!"
Someone else started giggling, then someone else, and it was LOUD! We learned our lesson, and made sure we didn't have sex.

The campground where we camped was all the way to the back of the fair, and the shop where we worked was right at the entrance gates. It was the costume costume rental place. Our job was hawkers. We simply yelled at people to rent costumes from 15-200.00 a DAY. In Olde English Accents. For 7 hours a day. In 95° weather. We had a blast. It you got caught not using the Accent, you would spend an hour in the stocks.
My coworkers would ask how I did it. I replied, " The Bible. King James version. By the next weekend, everyone had it down. It really was fun. We made about 80.00-90.00 a day for yelling at people.
But, by the time we got to walk to the campground, we were practically broke. Everything was expensive! A soft drink was 4.00 (a can), a turkey neck was 6.00, as was sausage on a stick.
But it was magic. If you ever get a chance, the DO IT!

As someone that does a lot of backpacking and camping, everything has an explanation. Also, hiding in a tent when there is someone there is not the brightest. I always have a gun, whistle, bear spray with me. Never had to use neither of those tools yet.

OMG something took off running and 5 minutes later I heard this loud screeching sound, I have no idea what it could've been so I just threw a huge rock hoping to scare it off.

I'm American, so when I go camping or out in the woods, I always have a gun.
If something creepy snaps twigs next to me, I'm shining a torch on it and staring down the sights.
Remember folks, when confronted with possible trouble, run into a 3mm thick nylon tent for cover and turn on an electronic device that blares out the loudest noise possible. Then, when your 3mm thick nylon fortress is attacked, ignore the attacker and lie down and go to sleep.

Many of them actually have a sidearm. I've watched many videos like these showing different scary encounters in the wild, and sometimes people from those videos comment them. I always ask them this and they all say they have a gun with them or at least pepper spray

As someone who often camps alone in the deep woods, I do have a gun for protection just in case, but it's not uncommon to hear people out there shooting targets, or hunting. The creepy flashlight dude, that was definitely scary though. I also take a creepy, realistic looking demon mask with me and the idea is to try to scare off or out-crazy anyone who comes upon my camp. One day, you might see a video of me on this page, only as the monster.

I'm surprised that whilst in the middle of a frightening event and being all alone in the forest (tent or car) these men can manage to narrate into their phone telling exactly what's happening. No shaky voices either. I know it's low whispering but in the forrest you can hear a pin drop. I'd be too scared to move a muscle.

Yeah, it is a bit easier if you are reciting a script. I agree, if you are truly terrified you sit quietly and try not shake or breathe too loudly. A light on your face while narrating is something that would make you an easier target, obviously you should split up and each run in different directions while trying to find the source of the sound. I mean if you are going to fake it at least make it interesting.

The craziest thing I’ve learned from all of these videos I’ve watched, the tent is basically Fort Knox. Once you get in there, nothing harms you.

I remember about 20 years ago our local pub in Hertfordshire, England in the UK had a Ghost Club where we went to an old haunted disused churchs after dark. Well, one night we were at this church and in the distance we heard a couple of cars approach us on an old dirt track as they pulled up a lot of young people got out making a lot of noise and music as they started to approach the church. Well, we all turned around and put on our torches which were on our heads to let the know we were there also.. Then all of a sudden the girls started screaming and they all rushed back to their cars and drove back faster than they had arrived. I never forgot that night as we all burst out laughing.

Just wanted to say if you're pet is with you while you're camping and he/she starts acting strange don't underestimate your companion because they will always know something before you do.
Omg! Dont panic and scare these people. I remember when i went many times at my remote hill cabin and had 2 dogs there. In the night many times they will stiffen up and stare into the darkness. Many times while i chill outside at night and they lying down they will all of a sudden get up and start running into the darkness to chase animals. Their hearing is many times better than human. Just relax, no one is gonna kill you 😀 it's just squirrels, rabbits, deers and other cute animals. Predators are much more smarter and than them, they dont come close to people

I live in Serbia, and i was walkin thru remote hills and two guys showed up and asked me who am i and what i doing here(i trespassed on their property). Turns out that one of the guys was kidnapped by albanians in the 90s and escapes them and he is very paranoid. No big deal. Carry a firearm when you go to forest

I grew up in the middle of the forest. There was one particular grove of trees that always made me feel as though I was being watched. I could wander through all the other areas perfectly fine but that one area always felt very eerie and had me on high alert. I would have never went to that spot at night. I did spend a lazy afternoon there one summer day, high atop a tree where I had a really good vantage point of the area and I never saw anything but some wildlife. It was the only time I didn't feel quite as creeped out, and I figured it was because I had that nice vantage point where it's unlikely anything else have been able to see me very easily. My dad still lives there (my mother has passed, in that home no less) and I've considered going out there again, but armed to the teeth, to see if I still feel unsettled.
I wouldn't go alone ... I'd take a gun.

As someone who lives in the southern Appalachians here in the US, if you've spent any amount of time at all in these woods you know just how strange they can be. People that aren't from around here will hear noises coming from the woods that'll make their skin crawl even though it's just the animals, usually. Every so often even us locals will hear or see stuff that we can't explain. The woods come alive at night if you sit & listen.
I dated a city girl for a short while and we went camping on the trail and every little thing woke her up, a fox barked "what was that?" deer blow "what was that?" lets say the beautiful sounds of nature kept her up and I got no sleep.

Several years ago I was camping in the Adirondacks, had the entire campground to myself. One night in my tent I could hear some loud rustling of leaves on top of the hill near my campground, and I thought for sure it was a bear. The next morning I went to the top of the hill to look around, when suddenly I heard the exact same rustling sound behind me! I turned around and it was a chipmunk, lol. It's amazing how your mind and your ears can play tricks on you when your alone and in the dark.
indeed!, since i was a kid my father has been telling me things like that, so i wont be afraid ,one day he told me that when he was younger he was doing his medicine internship in a clinic at a really lonely field, he lost the last bus home so he had to stay there until next morning, he was eating some chips and smoking a cigarrete when he heard chains in the grass (the clinic didnt have a proper floor outside) but then he heard the chains on the other side, all around the clinic, long story short, he picked the flashlight and went outside just to found out that it was a goat with the chain tied to the neck eating grass 😂 😂 😂

I will never understand how these experienced CZcamsrs with all their excellent cameras that they are used to using for videos suddenly can't get a clear and steady picture of the monster chasing them.
If a monster is chasing you, you aren't exactly thinking clear. People's freeze, fight, flight turn on and that's all you are thinking about.

Was camping in a secluded spot near the River Trent in UK, 20+ years ago.
Saw the Black Dog running along the top of a hedge, disappearing, then instantly running up the hedge again, for about 10 minutes....like it was stuck on repeat...4 of us witnessed it.
Was bigger than a dog.
Believed in the paranormal after that.
Saw it from a raised river bank...so was looking down on what was happening.
About 300-400 metres away.
If only we had the phones of these days!

I had a friend that would always get himself in stupid situations. Once he nonchalantly told me how he took a shortcut from his buddies through this pretty large forest we all lived next to at night. I instantly said dude, omg you were THAT weirdo walking out in the pitch black woods at night that normal people worry about.

The Wendigo "found footage" has been circulating around the internet for nearly 20 years now & the jury's still out as to whether this is actual or staged footage. I know from personal experience that there are some really strange, and sometimes, truly frightening things that can occur when you're camping, even when you're camping in what are considered really safe areas.
I've had a few relatively bizarre things happen while being out on the road on my bike, the strangest was having my bike moved over 30 feet away from my campsite while I was sleeping. The bike was locked & chained so there was no way it could be rolled, and you can't just pick up over 1,000lbs. of Harley, sidecar & tow behind cargo trailer while making neither a sound nor leaving either rolling or dragging tracks. This happened coming through Wyoming in 1997, and I still have the photos showing what happened. Needless to say, I always pack when I'm spending time on the road, but I still can't explain it to this day.

Agreed, even if you do go to some isolated spot i recommend a gun, gps, and trip wire alarms.

Facts. I've had 2 close calls. Once with a very large black bear when I was 14, (only had a single shot .410), luckily it ran away. The second time, I was in the Navy in Washington State, and a bud and I had an encounter with a mountain lion up by Diablo. That time I had my 44 mag. Luckily, the cat disappeared into the woods. Bet it was watching us until we got back to my truck though. Now, with the mix of dangerous animals and lunatic humans, I never go unarmed anymore.

Between 2018-20, I RV'd across the country. People think these isolated state parks are free of humans, they aren't. There are a lot of crazy locals and people who just prefer to live off the grid and in hiding. Hundreds of people go missing in these parks as well.

My best friend of 22 years loves hiking. We don't see each other much, but anytime he goes hiking he messages me. He tells me where and about how long it should take. The rule is if I don't hear from him within 30 minutes of that time frame, then I call for help.

I've personally had super eerie experiences in the woods while hunting trips. Unexplainable noises and activities etc. A good team of brave members and good weapons are always recommended.

I keep saying this, but if you frequently go hunting then please consider eventually investing the extra few hundred dollars into a handheld thermal imager device, which will typically be a monocular for that price range.
This technology can be life changing *and* life saving. It is also rapidly becoming more and more affordable and accessible for the average middle class worker.

Honestly anytime a creepy video adds creepy music it makes it less creepy. The raw silence and every sound of the real situation is far scarier than msuic put in to try and make me creeped out. Also these stories are funny. Hears a scary noise alone, proceeds to check on it and walk over to see whats up.

Tip : When camping in a truck,van or camper van always keep a recording (audio) with good speakers of a big agressive dog barking/growling . Soon as you hear someone/something knocking play it good an loud . Problem solved . Also keep a pic of a large aggresive breed of dog visible in window . And for extra measure keep a very large dog bowl outside your van/camper vehicle .😎

One of the many things nice about America is when you go camping you can go armed. That way you don’t have to be afraid of your shadow or any random person who may just be camping as well no matter what your imagination says.
I bought a PCC for that very reason. I love going backpacking , just...yeah. You never really know what you're going to run into in the forests no matter how many times you go out. It breaks down into two pieces that fit into my backpack. Doesn't take up much room even with a red dot and flashlight on the rails. If something feels sketchy or not right. I can just pull it out, put it together and sling it over my shoulder. Never got into a situation where I had to, just yeah. Better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it.
@@AylisCrescent I agree. You never know what kinda person or animal you might run into. There are a few nice folding rifles available these days. Kel Tec has a folding carbine in 9mm and a couple calibers, Ruger has a take down 10/22, and there’s even a folding AR15 available. I think FoldAR is the name of the company that makes them. You can even get the double folder that folds in front of the upper receiver and has a folding stock and can be fired with the stock folded. It’s so small it can easily fit in a regular size or smaller backpack and still have room for extra mags etc… if you’re in bear country you might want something that packs more of a punch tho.

I was camping alone in a national park and there was no one else in the park. In the middle of the night, I started hearing quiet noises. I was trying to dismiss it, when there was a snarling, snapping, guttural growl and and the gravel scattering sound I ever heard. I whipped out my hog leg and turned on the flashlight. There, in the center of the beam, we’re two of the largest raccoons I have ever seen. They were fighting over a sack of roasted peanuts that I left by the fire. I had to chuckle but no more sleep that night.

My wife and I have been very fortunate to have lived in the State of Montana, USA, kids have grown up and married and moved out. We moved to Montana in 2001 from the horrible place of Washington DC. Since we moved to Montana, we have hiked and camped all over this state and Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Alaska, and the Yukon by truck. Over this 20 year period or so, we have had some strange occurrences, however, contrary to the East Coast of the US, and of course Great Britain, we have always been heavily armed and were always glad that we were.

I've done a lot of camping in West Virginia. I've had three really scary encounters, which at the time I had no explanation for. After investigation, all three turned out to be explainable. One was a bobcat which if you don't know what it is, sound like a terrified woman screaming bloody murder. Another was a loon, which again is very unnerving in the middle of the night if you don't know what it is. The other was a bear who had come down to get a drink at the riverside where we were camping, but when he figured out there were people there, he made several loud exhales of air which continued until he had scampered back in the woods. Again, it freaks you out if you don't know what it is because you are in the pitch black out in the middle of the woods.
That cook stove burner on while the vehicle is closed doesn't put out carbon monoxide fumes? That's totally nuts!
As a hunter and fisherman I've been in some deep woods at night. Even with a buddy it can get a little nervy when you hear things. I or we always have a fire and make sure our presents is know. No whacky things yet except for curious deer racoon and possums but that can always change. Be safe everyone.
