- Welcome back to another episode and thank you for being here!
In this episode we made the decision to leave Eucla WA and head towards Esperance WA in hopes to find somewhere to be able to spend our first Christmas in the caravan.
The nerves were crazy when calling caravan parks to find everywhere had been booked over the Christmas holiday time.
We knew we had to take our chances and head towards the first in best dressed camp grounds in hope to be able to find a site.
See you on the next one!
Why don't you get a hose? You could put the water straight in the van then keep the water drums full as well.
some times it fits sometimes it doesn't yes we could do that :)
You guys are stressing too much about the car man.
You won't hurt it revving it out heaps. When you first tried it sounded like you had it locked in a gear in manual mode and it died in the ass on ya.
Don't be scared to rev it in a lower gear, it's actually much better for the car rather than lugging it in too high a gear at low rpm with your foot buried to the floor.
Also, don't worry about the dash only saying a certain km left, when the fuel light comes on, you still have heaps of fuel left.
For an example, I have taken mine down till the needle touches the 0 on the fuel gauge and it still only took 120l
Once the "distance to empty" goes low enough, it will show - - - - and you still have like 100ks after that
Also, with the filling up, it's a common issue, fill it up, then once it clocks, give the tow bar a bit of a push and it will burp it and you will get some more in. If you fill it up, then drive around the block over some speed bumps and go back to the servo and you will get another 10l in. When you fill it up from being pretty low, it gets a bit of an air lock, they all do it.
If you want max range, fill it up as much as you can, then go for a little 1 min drive over some uneven ground and then go try get more fuel in it, then you will get max range. Leaving it overnight is even better. I fill up day before the trip, then swing past the servo on the way out
It is good practice to check wheel nuts but use a torque wrench set to 130nm. a rattle gun will keep stretching your wheel bolts causing them to break. Maybe grab some Boss tyre deflators and deflate them all at once :) 40 psi front and 45 rear and 30 on rough ground.
Great channel guys and love your honesty. We're full time travellers too and are waiting for our new 62 (pre reg upgrades. 2 weeks we hope) Keep up the good work. 👍
Omg love how use check all the bolts and inspect.
All the comments regarding tightening wheel nuts are correct. All the other bolts/nuts should be coated in loctite then you will never need to check them. TPMS tyre deflators are the best. Tyre pressure depends on your weight. Everyone's different. My Patrol ( no towing) 15 psi on the sand.
You guys are so entertaining to watch. Have loved all your episodes from the beginning. Cheers, Jason
FORGET THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS! rock on & keep learning as are we my friends xxxx
thank you so much WE HOPE YOUR ALL GOOD :)
lovely video love you guys just few tips , when gas clicks off try one more pump and if that clicks off , call it there as it can overflow the evap system and thats a big issue, and Alexs the foot on the dash is very scary incase the airbag deploys her leg will blow out her back, just some stuff to be aware off ❤
Thank you! ☺️
Just a tip with the dog in the rear of the car, it gets extremely hot at the back especially when its 40C + even with the A/C on, you don't feel it at the front or even in the back seats ,I know this as I had to travel back there to find a rattle next to the esky and it was crazy hot and very little air flow......,Watch your dog back there.....
Thank you for your advice, Rocco has two aircon vents in the back and uv sunshades 😊 and we frequently stop to check him and give him a drink. We love our Mudgee
Luke, for your car and van wheel nuts especially, could I suggest you invest in a good quality torque wrench, find out the torque settings for the wheel nuts and torque to specifications, rather than just ramming them tighter to an unknown level with the rattle gun. Too tight and you can strip threads or stretch the studs causing failures etc. It does happen. Cheers. Dave
good idea thank you mate I will deff look into it :) hope your well mate
We love you guys. ❤️❤️❤️

3 weeks is way too long to stay there. Don't stres about being booked in somewhere, we did 12mths on our lap and only booked when we were in sydney n perth. Always found suitable spots or the overglows at popular spots. Shop up and save when you have access to supermarkets. Have fun. Enjoy your vids. Cheers
Keep up the good work safe travel

Sorry, we’ve been trying to upload a video for two days now it’s Starlink is super slow. We might have to move to Get good Internet
Mate, when you check your wheel it’s, un do them and then do them up, they won’t snap off then
Buy your red bull and Doritos when your in Esperance. Cheaper to buy items in the supermarket then the outback Roadhouse.
yes your not wrong that would be ideal :) hope your well
Are you guys with Hipcamps, there are quite a few places around Esperance and the rest of the southwest on Hipcamp.
U a becoming a pro man. U use Carry petrol spare just in case i would.
$31 is alright when your on the Nullarbor, think how much it costs to ship it all out there?
You guys have expensive Clearview towing mirrors, but never have them pulled out when towing in any of your videos…? Seems like an expensive accessory to not use. Love your videos though guys.
cheers for the heads up I feel like I dont need them pulled put I should try it :) hope your well and thank you
If you feel you don't need those clear views then why do you have them?
Have to agree with you m8
How guys how many foot is the van and how much lithium? Cheers
21.6 ft what do you mean?
@@thatfalzonfamily Thanks, sorry I ment how many Amp Hours are your lithium batteries? Thansk guys
Do you air down the tyres on your caravan too?
yes we had the van at 25psi I should off went down to 17 psi
Hey guys, have you heard of Rohnny Dahl? He gives good advice on sand driving on he’s CZcams channel. I think your running your tyre pressures still too high on sand. On my trip to Fraser Island towing a camper trailer, I had my pressures around 18-20 psi depending on how the tyre looked
What drone were you using
maverick 3 pro :)
