Linuxx ive been doing okay thank you for asking. How are you? I am on a low dose of fluvoxamine 100mg a night and don’t want to increase because of the sexual side effects which i also unfortunately experience on this low dose im currently taking. My anxiety/ocd unfortunately will probably be with me for life and gets a lot worse when i try to travel or do anything outside of the normal mundane life that i have. Xanax works amazingly but you develop a dependence on them that is simply devastating to your personal health. I don’t wish it on my worst enemy. Which antidepressant worked for you and faded over time? Im just curious. And i never received tms treatment my insurance wouldn’t approve after my psychiatrist said i had to be “depressed” along with my formal diagnosis of ocd to be approved for treatment so they would rather feed me pills.

I'm SO alone and at almost 60 now I'm depressed because I never got that wedding, family I desired and could've been a scientist like I've always dreamed but OCD stole ALL my life.. it's gone and I can never ever get it back.

I spent 3 months doing TMS and a year before that Neurofeedback for 3 months, both 3X’s a week. Unfortunately and after spending 15k they didn’t help and in fact I’ve become more sensitive to various stimuli. Now of course my TMS Dr is offering a “new” and improved protocol specifically for OCD as opposed to just anxiety…I’ll pass on that.

Yes--we hear this from patients who have gone elsewhere. The strategies that makes our office unique and offers higher likelihood of treatment success include using multiple-target approach, using LORETA and fMRI imaging to localized targets accurately and precisely, re-evaluating frequently and modifying protocols per patient progress and objective testing, and awareness of anatomical and functional networks when choosing treatment protocols. Most other offices use 'same size fits all approach' for all patients.

We do not perform 'Deep TMS' at our center we find it not as effective as our method of multiple-target TMS designed uniquely to each person's brain map results. @Alec Seal Great question. Most studies show seizure risk of approximately 0.08/1000 for figure of 8 coil (type of coil we use) and 0.12/1000 for H-coil (used with the 'deep TMS' coils) which means the type of coil we use is approximately 1.5 times safer overall. Most patients who have experienced both types of coils report more comfort with the figure of 8 coil. Moreover, we use MRI navigation to ensure targeting which is more comfortable than the stereotaxic style equipment used by many other centers. Overall, risks associated with TMS are far less than that reported with most medication regimens used to treat OCD and many other disorders. You can learn more about the seizure risk between different coil types by reading following scientific papers published in journal 'Clinical Neurophysiology'
Volume 130, Issue 8, August 2019, Pages 1409-1416 and Brain Stimulation: Risk of inadvertently induced seizures with deep repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation
