This series aims to show the best vehicles to use in GTA Online in a racing situation. That is, around a regular circuit with a mix of corners and straights. The word "Fastest" means nothing without some context - these are the fastest vehicles around a circuit. How Lap Times Were Obtained Accurately
The best lap time a vehicle can achieve around a circuit determines how good it is and therefore its place within this list.
Each vehicle was taken around the same circuit multiple times, with the best lap time being recorded. For most vehicles this equates to 10 laps per vehicle, but can often be more to ensure the absolute best lap time has been achieved with the vehicle. There are some caveats to this kind of testing though which are worth explaining below.

I recommend reading this for anyone who is confused, interested, or doubts the validity of the results in this video as it explains in great detail the extent to which these results will be useful for you personally, in addition to linking the track used for your own testing/comparison.*
So with that all being said, my vehicle testing should be taken as a guideline. The testing is very accurate for this track and similar tracks when cars are driven close to the maximum without any extra refinements. At the very least you should be able to use this testing to help narrow your field of view for your own personal testing. I would always recommend testing a variety of cars yourself and take into account what kind of tracks you're racing on, what is better for you and your skill level, and even your budget. My testing is meant to guide you, not tell you exactly what to use in every situation.

*Small Clarification*
The actual lap times that are displayed for the Emerus and non-HSW Turismo Classic are correct. I wanted to show the new baseline for lap time for the best car when HSW is disabled, which is why it shows the full lap time for those cars, with everything below being relative to that instead. I just forgot to remove the + symbol which has understandably caused confusion. Sorry about that!
Also the 4th fastest supercar is the Deveste Eight (HSW). It's neither competitive with HSW on (multiple seconds per lap slower than the Ignus and Cyclone) or when HSW is off (since it can't be used), which is why it isn't listed in the other options section.

What does hsw mean?
Broughly, first off, thanks for all of the dedication to multiple series. Youve been my go to when im on the fence or simply curious about any of the cars. Just out of curiosity, though, have you ever considered dropping a master list of your lap times? Ive been complining some of your times in my own master list when im really bored, and ive almost maxed out the amount of cars i can own with one single character- i know ive definetly missed a few in the last few updates.

for people who don t know u have to upgrade previon suspension to have this laptime ^^ often on off road tracks the BF400 is as far better than the Draugur. Shafter v12 is a better choice on hight topspeed tracks. When u don t know the track powersurge is not a great choice because it s horrible to drive, often u fell off because little bumps. Rarely shotaro and hakuchou (now hsw) have a better laptime than the powersurge because more grip. The Calico has a better acceleration, Vectre the best grip, here the sultan is better but on some over tracks it s not really the case. U have to upgrade the suspension of this 3 cars too. Hopefully it was helpfull to somebody ^^
yeah very track dependent, i have found the powersurge is often king on stunt tracks because of the massive curb boost it gets

Actually part of the reason I was swayed into doing the retesting is so that I always have a block of time each week where I'm testing cars, in preparation for future GTA 6 testing. For too long I've not had that and I end up filling my time with other things. If that were to be the case when GTA6 comes around it would be a big change and disruption to get back into regular testing, so better to get ahead of it and start now. Thanks for the support!

It's crazy to see that now with HSW upgrades, there are 7 sports cars that are competitive with each other.
The BR8 lap time isn't as quick as it could be. The boost is more effective once the car is near top speed rather than to accelerate out of a corner. Also more boost could be generated through half braking through corners and using stock brakes which would reduce lap time by having more boost to use through the lap.
I'll take the "better at higher speed" into account on retesting, but the other stuff falls into things I don't do to improve lap time (akin to brake boosting and excessive kerb boosting). More details on testing methodology on gtacars.net/gta5/laptime
Hyped for the new series!
I really like the new design and time display system, it brings the gap between places more into perspective and is much easier to read. One thing that has always bothered me though is the font you use. It's just not easily readable. Maybe there's a similar font that's not as wide and thin?

Formatting is a little off. If there's a full laptime listed, that's that car's actual laptime, and any cars below that have their delta to that car next to them.

this was released before the Mercenaries DLC, yes the middle suspension option is better on the Sultan Classic

Not sure of how much of an improvement but the normal rumpo can now be upgraded(not sure if you tested). It was unavailble to be upgraded for a long time also the meriachi tornado is upgradeable too. In the avenger.
I'm not 100% sure but I think he re-tested them when that happened.
I might be wrong but I at least remember it was discussed on Stream (might even have been me who asked).
But I don't know if he posted in a video or just changed the laptime on the spreadsheet or didn't re-test them.
Those weren't the only ones either, there's the Lifeguard Blazer, Lifeguard Granger and Speedo.

It's actually the speedo that got the upgrades, not the rumpo. And the lifeguard got upgrades too. The Speedo and Mariachi Tornado have already been retested and their updated lap times are on gtacars.net

I do not Think The fastest coupe car the Karin Previon, but instead the Ubermacht Sentinel XS (HSW)

Nope it's slower than the Previon (1:06.433)
It literally says in the video that the HSW Sentinel XS is 0.867 seconds slower than the Previon
it depends on the track. if there are long straights, the sentinel is faster, if there are many acceleration zones like out of hairpins, the previon dominates.
