    I have the Xperia 1 V. I have a mixed feeling with this Xperia 1 VI maybe I had so much expectations to it.This team is just being stubborn but sort of. All we wanted for them to improve is the Auto photography and video (Okay, they did that but still catching up) and at least if they do variable refresh rate or LTPO panel then they should at least for this price it had 2K res. display and should have left 21:9 aspect ratio. Power button imbedded fingerprint scanner is an Xperia thing but under the display placement should've been more appreciated and the use of front camera for face recognition to unlock the phone. The rest of the specs are impressive, this looks like a start for Sony to make this appeal and recommendable for the mass. I know 1 VI had just launched but I'm looking forward on what Sony will bring for Xperia 1 VII. 🤙

      I think losing the 4K is the right choice for saving battery, as LPTO and brighter screen was used. And yes FHD is not justifiable for this price point, or Sony should just drop the price lower. Biggest disappointment was really dropping the 21:9 ratio. But I do agree, let's hope that this phone will bring Sony back to the masses and then they'll nailed the formula correctly for the 1vii. Bing face unlock as a secondary to the side-mounted fingerprint sensor too. Cheers for using 1v.

      @@hhh5377 4K screen in a smartphone back then was part of Sony's marketing for the flagship or you can honestly call it a "gimmick" as it was called the "World's first" but it was actually overkill in a smartphone unless if you look closely or use microscope everytime you use those Xperias. 2K is also somewhat overkill but I think a higher resolution panel in a smartphone helps the contents you watch to be upscaled especially with the use of AI nowadays and I think that's what Sony had brought for Xperia 1 VI, a FHD+ LTPO panel calibrated by Bravia team with AI, saving battery and it's now the brightest Xperia screen ever.

    İ still don understand why wou use relativly small telephoto camera sensor .1/3.5 is way to smaller than competitors , therr is 1/1.4 ones i know it make camera bump bigger but 1/2.5 or 1/2 will be perfect and if you use your two layer transistor thecnology in the telephoto camera since it is smallest sensor generally it will be one of bests
    And you can add to main camera variable aperture with like f1.6 f.4
    Screen can be qhd but 19.5 is fine

    I have great respect for your company, but why did you degrade the screen? Why was the update indicator removed? In my humble opinion, it is better to put a full-fledged 2k panel and return the notification indicator, because it does not take up much space and this was your exclusive feature. Even with a 2k screen, the autonomy will be a little worse, this is not a problem. Ideally, of course, make it possible to switch the resolution from FULL HD to 2K. Currently using 1V and I'm very impressed about 1VI's specs. Especially on Camera and Wired Audio. Finally Headphone jack is getting a usable Amp. and Macro feature on camera, 24, 48, 85~170mm Lens combo.....and people are sad because now it have 1080p display. My 1V's screen show me 1080p level of resolution 99.9% of times. because it is designed in that way. It only becomes 4K display in very particular situation. and it was source of half of heat when i'm filming on 2k and 4k . I'm fine with 1080p on 6.5inch display. I'm writing this comment on my 1V and what i see now is 1080p level of resolution. it is clear. and it is near impossible to make it brighter than 1V with that 4K display.

    @StaySic4Ever Před 19 dny

    Regardless of aspect ration and resolution, it's still a very good display, form factor and design. Resolution is just a number without context or quality of display it self. Now 21:9 with 5120x2160 which would fit full 4K with 2160p for video, images for detail, be 1:1 for 1080p resolution for general use, yes that would be amazing. That on a 7" 21:9 would be awesome, not too huge. Like a mm or so narrower in grip and few mm taller vs like Ultra but retain full display, no hole. Maybe when they could make stereo speakers under display along the front cam, can make it full display and smaller. Overall great phone, pricey here in Europe. At flagship price, I'd expect a longer OS support at this point that some other brands do, definitely gives a phone higher value.

      Batterypower management! Trust me it doesn't affect the screen quality! Sony does always proper job in engineering and crafting hardware! I do own Xperia 5 II and it supports FHD+ and still i get the full experience! And now i'm talking about how my brothers iPhone 14 Pro drains the battery very quickly and Sony does a stellar job for enhancing the battery life even with Battery Care! :)

    1:26 frl? 21:9 was 100% better and xperias were different bcs of that. Also it was best idea. Now.. Its normal phone... I would understand if the reduction in display quality was due to the price reduction, but the price remained the same... For this price, I'd rather buy the mk5 again. In short, I stay with 21:9 with 4k and this new dimension makes no sense to me.. Rip VI

      98% of times, Xperia's 4K display showed us FHD images. I'm currently using 1V. and I'm considering to get 1VI because everything is far better and it have amp on headphone jack now. PPI is not bad and FHD looks better than QHD on same display (QHD have Pixel matching problems) Everything is better Exept no more 4K Display. Resolution over 1080p on 6.5 inch display is no more than a gimmick.

      @@iMernernerwell if you don't see Sony's pitfall and cheating 1 V users it's another problem...they deliberately cripple 1 V hardware by not allowing 48mm option that is present on 5 V with that main exmor T sensor...and now they keep the 48 mpxl mode that was asked since day 1 exclusive to that new 1 VI....
      That's pretty lame if you ask me ..and i don't support that business practice .

As far as user interface, they are trying to go with a more of a stock Android feel which I appreciate without all of the extra bloat that some manufatures add in. A $1400 phone with 1080p display and only the main 24mm camera (and 16mm) camera is usable (Zoom quality is unusable), it is better to buy the 10 VI for less than half the price. or the 5VI. Too many people make too big of a fuss about the display resolution downgrade, as if they could spot the difference without trying to dig their eyes out trying to see individual pixels.
    21:9 aspect ratio would have been nice, but i understand if it was easier to just manufacture whatever is the industry standard.
    The notification LED going away is a negative in my book. My old galaxy S9 has it and it is super usefull. It is also quite a unique thing to have.

    Most flagship phones today have screens with resolutions of 2k or higher.
    Sony reduced the quality of the OLED screen on the Xperia 1 VI from 4K to FHD while the price remained unchanged. Sony gives us a worse quality screen than the previous generation while still wanting to sell them at the price of a flagship phone. 😂
