We managed to get the Weatherill loading shovel started in the previous episode - Now we find out if it will move once more after 18 years stood in the same place !
Lord muck you are so right I'm sick of this weak arse society where everyone loves to play the victim game and have to blame their own inadequacy on everyone else bar themselves. Love your videos 👍👌
Appreciate the Comments about our overly PC and Hypersensitive Society that is afraid of everything but telling you that we’re doing something wrong. I’m sorta glad it’s not just a US problem, I think the common sense overly PC pendulum has swung over to beyond stupid, hopefully we find somewhere in the middle between no safety and all the safety. I like watching your Channel and a few others like you that are “normal” blue collar guys. Thanks for the dose of Normal.
As someone who has actually worked in health and safety your rant was pretty much spot on. So many people assume you are supposed to gear yourself up as much as possible when that simply isn't true. Its all common sense. unfortunately common sense is so damn rare.
I also spent several years in an HSE role in the oilfields and it was about staying safe and looking out for each other - not just covering the companies arse by making everything impossible.
In the early eighties, me and some mates were given a job by a local business man. He had bought a bungalow, but didn't like it so he gave us the job of demolishing the old one so he could build another. Being teenagers at the time, we had an awesome time, jumping through ceilings. Ripping the roof to pieces. Charging through plaster board walls. Smashing down walls with sledgehammers. All without a single piece of PPE. Apart from scratches, a marvelous time was had by all.
It was wonderful to see your frustrations evaporate as the problems were ironed out and the old girl blew off the cobwebs and began to really perform - and beyond expectations ! Well done ,sir. Perseverance paid off. Top vid
Hear, Near well said Mucker. You made an old man very happy, I never thought after 40 years i would never see let alone hear the old girls back again. I shovelled thousands of tons of silage, shit and corn and the old girl never missed a beat. We had a contractor in with a D 8 dozer clearing sarcen stones to make a new field, some of the stones were that big we had to push side by side. You have never heard a noise like it. Thank You for bringing back all those happy memories, I could all most smell the hot oil again !! Cheers, Poth
As an American, yank to you, I do appreciate your scolding of the idiots that comment on every little thing a person does as if they could even begin doing it to begin with. Here in the US we have gone completely crazy and honestly cant compliment a person for even the simplest thing. While much like you Brits we need to come together and get strong against all the evil that is attacking us, i.e. terrorist, communist, etc., and not worry about a few brambles.
Well said muck, the chainsaw world is full of those same comments, yes it’s dangerous but so is life, sometimes you’ve gotta do something dangerous but there’s ways to mitigate the danger and make it tolerable, there’s safer everywhere and if we only did what was 100% safe we’d never get anything done
Totally agree. If I cut myself while doing a job it’s my fault, my decision and I live with it. I’m not blaming anyone for my actions. As long as you have your safety squints on… all is good. Love the Channel and the viewpoints.
Always enjoy watching these videos. These engines were fitted on loads of things here in Malta. Agree about no common sense, too many people are bubble wrapped!
Loved the rant, health and safety has gone ridiuculous, You need a form these days to do a fart. You've got my vote! Keep on doing what your doing. I love old engineering and vehicles.
That old girl still wants to work!!! 👍 Excellent work getting her back running AND moving!! I very much enjoy these videos!! Thank you for your hard work!. 👌 I'm casting my vote for the Manitou....my apologies to the Wheel Horse, but she'll have her day.
I agree with you, Kurt, on safety kit. Enough to do what you need and … no more. The people who haven’t twigged that you just took off your eye protection are the people who: have never operated bench saws/drills, never used a grinder or concrete cutter, never cleared scrub, never pruned/felled any trees and do not know what is like to be lying on your back whilst constantly having to clean your safety glasses of crap; and … get a job done. I could list quite a few other tasks BUT you probably get my point. Cheers from NZ🇳🇿.
Common sense mucka, you ain't stupid you assess everything job by job, I don't wear flip flops when I am hill walking or using a chainsaw. I've said before that if you had to think about breathing, the likes of us would have more fresh air!
Can’t imagine a modern wheeled loader sitting for 18 years and getting going as Godoy as that with all the electronic aids and sensors, computers, screens, common rail high pressure fuel system and the all important ADBLUE, great video, more ford tractors please.
Well done mate. Seeing the smile on your face when she moved said it all. I am 70 and agree fully with you on all the pc and safety stuff. Common sense has gone out of the window. We were always aware of the risks. Today they are unaware as they are put in cotton wool from an early age.
You worked for this one but was well worth it, the payout being sense of accomplishment. The best and most valuable safety equipment is that thing between your ears, your brain.
I absolutely hate dealing with stupid people. Stupid people should not reproduce. Love your videos Mucker, keep up the good stuff work. You know you did the job right when you’ve broke something, have extra parts and are bleeding. That is a seriously awesome machine. Does he move? Damn right he does and right back to work he goes. Outstanding. The wheel horse or forklift. That’s a tough choice. Wheel Horse then forklift? Either one is great. Thanks brother.
Hi, your remarks about safety precautions reminded me of something my dad said many years ago. He was a steel worker in Sheffield and had his share of accidents along with the other workers, so much so that the management brought in an overwhelming amount of safety gear. In typical fashion my dad said words to the effect of "If we have to wear all this f__king stuff we'll never get the bleeding job done " I miss the old guy. Thanks for sharing and best regards from Ireland.
I agree with your rant on the current state of health and safety (more bubble wrap, please...). If our fore-fathers had been this namby pamby, we'd be eating everything cold and raw. Fire is dangerous... lol Great video and good job getting the shovel moving and working again!
As a forklift/agricultural engineer I’m totally with you on the mostly Yank will it starts, were they changed every fluid before they even get a bang out of it utter nonsense, get a bang and move then service engines and transmissions etc, I’ve done my fair share of buying crap (as the wife says) and get it going 👍 love it👍👍 great channel ,
It's one thing creating content just for entertainment - it's another thing to do the same but trying to educate and demonstrate to others at the same time. Preparation and cost are very important factors
@@LordMuck I think for me personally it’s the love of old machines and there fantastic build quality and the fact they have stood the test of time, a good battery and tinker here and there Bang you have it running,, basically anyone can do it with basic and the right instruction and information and very little money , that’s the appeal 👍 keep up the good work.
Very nice to see the old Michigan moving & working. Well said, far too many candy asses are taking away the fun in life. A little pain teaches us how not to f**k everything up. Wheelhorse progress would be interesting but I'm good either way. Thanks for sharing. Safe travels to you & dog on your venture to Wales.
With you all the way. We have a huge skills shortage and an entire generation who are risk averse, no thinking skills and think the world owes them a living. I could go on….
Dont worry about health and safety, what we really want to know is, was that a metric or imperial adjustable spanner you used to remove the Hydraulic pipe 👌
Common sense is not so common anymore. Love your rant . Finally a real man that knows what is required by working a real job. Instead of picking on the man from his mother’s basement while living on the government doll !👍👍🇺🇸✌🏻😎
Well said, its about time we got back to basics and fought back on the PC crap..this country is a mess, water companies can dump chemicals and sewage into the rivers, potholes cause road hazards and thats OK..however if you want to use a ladder you need a working from heights qualification..not sure how but it needs to be rolled back and get to enjoying the good stuff
Oh my goodness. That was hands down the best moment I have ever seen on CZcams. I loved that rant. But CZcams my penalize you, but F it like you said. Keep the video up and F them.
CZcams have been unsubbing my followers, turning off their Notifications and hiding my channel for years - it's why I continue because I won't be forced in to giving up. The more Subscribers I get, the more views I get, the more we grow.
Hi Mucker. Great job on getting the Weetherall running and moving. Love the rant, 100% right. Lots of kids being cheated of having fun getting up to tricks with their mates. Snowflakes, they’re about as much use as an ash tray on a motorbike. 😀🏴🇺🇸 Manitou👍
Had a Steiger articulated tractor will it start in the early 90’s. A farmer had paid someone to install a new engine, but then the mechanic walked off the job. Sat for years and he hired me. I got it all hooked up, put one wheel back on it, and got it running. Had no brakes and the articulated joint in the middle was really loose but, drove it around a bit and called it good! Farmer was pleased and I was paid. Fun times!
Brilliant vid mucker but this is for all the safety nutters get a grip stop interfering and let the intelligent people get on and yes I'd like to see more vids like this thanks

I really think Diesel Creek needs to cross the pond and give you a hand Muck! And yes, the Mamby Pambies are going to freak out over that massive amount of blood loss from that finger you cut off!
“Men in cloth caps and overalls built this country; men in suits with briefcases destroyed it.”
Absolutely right. We are doomed to fail as a civilization because it's not 'cost effective '
Lord muck you are so right I'm sick of this weak arse society where everyone loves to play the victim game and have to blame their own inadequacy on everyone else bar themselves.
Love your videos 👍👌
Yup!. I reckon all 'warning labels' be removed and let 'natural selection' take care of the rest!. 🤣

Some of these comments you receive wind me right up? Even though they're aimed at you!
That's a hilarious story!! Bring back the good times right? 😅😅
100% agree with your little rant, couldn’t agree more!!!
Rants are for German dictators - I simply say it how it is.

You’ve made my day …A man with common sense regarding the “ Cotton Wool “ world of today…Great stuff .
I could not have expressed it any better, your PC comments were spot on life without risk is not life👍
Excellent rant and MORE GOOD STUFF!
Totally agree. If I cut myself while doing a job it’s my fault, my decision and I live with it. I’m not blaming anyone for my actions. As long as you have your safety squints on… all is good. Love the Channel and the viewpoints.
Priceless Lord muck but ur totally correct in what you say fuck em!!!!
Love it sir. Your "cottonball" society comments were great!! Love the videos and love the pups! Keep it up. From across the pond, it's all thumbs up.
Always enjoy watching these videos. These engines were fitted on loads of things here in Malta. Agree about no common sense, too many people are bubble wrapped!

It amazes me why people just dump decent machines with not a great deal wrong with them. Great will it start video.👍
Totally agree with LM .. Nanny State / Health & Safety / Risk averse is getting in the way of actually getting anything done
MORE GOOD STUFF!!!!!
Manitou
Thoroughly enjoyed that! 👌🏻
Awesome old bit of kit , love when old gear comes to life and actually impresses you . Your right on the HS stuff , vote forklift
well said sir!
WhooHoo! Been waiting for this! Just the greatest 🙂♥️
Haha, "What would Diesel Creek do". Well, I know what I did? I hit that subscribe! Just because I love content like this!

It really is surprising how much power the old fella still has. It must have been quote the machine back when it was still shiny. Oh and forklift.
Nice one it better myself i can't stand all these people who are worried about getting their hands dirty or worrying about I might hurt themselves

Im sorry fella but you crack me up when you have a go at these muppets😂
Just watch the blood pressure because ...you know .... lol BRILLIANT !!

Outstanding work lad. The Manitou please.
Manitou Please .That loading shovel is a star ! 😉
Good rant !!! Preach it brother!

I cannot believe she pushed that hard without breaking something. What a machine! Would love to see the Manitou going. Nice one mucker
Totally agree H & S overkill
Dont worry about health and safety, what we really want to know is, was that a metric or imperial adjustable spanner you used to remove the Hydraulic pipe 👌
Wheelhouse ,just for something different, sort of size machine that a lot of viewers could mess about with in their garage shed👍

I got plenty of scars and all of them got a different story and I learned more by them 😄
I guess I will collect some more scars in the future 🤷
Yes most definitely me too. Lots of scars, mainly from hand tools etc. Each one a learning curve and a story to tell 😂😂
Great video Manitou

That's great that old loader moves and functions, I'd like to see the Wheel Horse!
Self employed, health and safety is depends who’s watching and how deep in the woods
Cotton wool society amen...They create a whole expensive industry....Oh ah thats a sepsis injury, i use peroxide used to get it from the vets...Recently tried getting it in Boots, the assistant was horrified, told me you could use it to make loud sounds. I said i only want it for treating wounds to speed up healing...
Excellent result 👏 really enjoyed the work ethic, skills, and common sense approach mucker.
Good video mate. Don't worry about the negative comments, just keep moving forward. Greetings from Down Under.
Knipex Cobra for the win 👌👌
Nice bit of ranting top job. Manitou.
When I was 14 (nearly 40 years ago) a farm I worked on at weekends and school holidays had one just like this one. It came from the National Coal Board (NCB) It brought back great memories looking in the cab and I remember how cold the steering wheel got in the winter with the aluminium wheel knob, plus the noise from the cab brought it all back as well, sounds lovely for about an hour but pretty tiresome after that!!!!
As many others have said common sense isn’t very common in this day and age and I agree 100% we need to fight back otherwise what is there left of everything we have all worked for. Progress is good and I am glad it’s not like it was when my grandad was a young man, however it turns my guts to see youngsters with no understanding of what has gone before and truly how good life is now in comparison to the past.
I am certainly not expecting then to keep me when I get to retirement because by then they won’t even be able to wipe their arse let alone mine!!!!!
Absolutely loved the video mate and your thoughts on society are well in line with my own. Great work buddy and keep it up.
lord muck you are right, the world can only be saved with common sense
After asking-answered tip-over plows still watching from Mpls MN USA 55407 ,videos liked...
I was suddenly reminded of seeing something a hell of a lot like that in 1968 1970 used to load trucks with sand at a quarry down the road here. Not as fast as todays pivot steerers but like that surprisingly powerful and able to fill 2 cube in a shovel full. That was a very impressive thing at the time. This is an impressive thing now as you rescue it from the blackberry bushes & put it to work to give it a flex. Well done squire.
Thanks for some refreshing words!!!!
I regularly use the squinty eye method when working with the disc cutter!!!! Between you and Chris Alan the professional struggler common sense still has a place in this world. Keep up the good work!
Brilliant rant, forklift please.
Common sense is sadly lacking these days, I was brought up through the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s and learnt common sense as I went through life.👍
Pushing up that soil with all the noise, you can't help but smile😃. What a beast! Top work your Lordship. 👍🏻
Would love to see both at somepoint, but Wheelhorse please.
Top stuff Kurt, she's got some grunt for sure, seen some tracked shovels do worse. Was waiting for another hose to pop, suprising they held! Hope it finds a good retirement home where it can do some useful jobs.
Would love to see the old Manitou come to life...
Manitou will it start would be great to see
Either would be good to see but I’ll go Manitou
I used to work on a Thames Water farm in oxford and an L62B was our loader.. Air brakes effortlessly ( at the time) f-r shuttle , now it was heavy and you always had to start in low and pop her into high for transport ( awful on the road) how much bounce.. kin all of it.. but what an absolute beast on the clamp .. kept up with our 3 10 ton silage trailers of the time ( salops)
Great video I’m so glad you stuck with it .. pleasure to watch 👌👌👍👍

Manitou
More good stuff and less dumb shit. Word of the day!
Yeah, boiiiiiii, what a rant. ❤ im here for "the more good stuff," that was from the heart. We need more rants, mate. Keep up the great work!
Don’t want you like Forest Gump, let’s see the Manitou fired up 👍, great video as always.
I like mowwwwwinggg 🤪
