Finally someone who got the valium being a downer-thing đ€ Most of who I watched caught that valium and volume are homophones (or... well, he makes them so) and turning the volume up. But he's actually saying that because the name of the drug is VALIUM/Volume, he thought it would turn him UP like the volume is turned up. That's why he was mislead by the SOUND of it.

About the not listening thing: there was an article about MTBMB getting platinum, and the writer (who is supposedly 'specialized' in Hiphop) said that Eminem sticks to his controversial nature, as he (direct quote) "made fun of the Ariana Grande concert attack" and "raps from the point of the Las Vegas shooter".
And this is arguably one of his least offensive albums, but he has one line about that concert! And the writer conveniently forgot to mention that "Darkness" was made as a statement about the need for better gun-control. So people who have no clue would read it and get mad about how he's exploiting those tragedies for money!
Got me so mad, I was just glad that article didn't have a comment section or left the address to that stupid little nerdy "expert". I would have flown over, pandemic be damned, and throttled that punk. How can you call yourself an 'expert in hiphop' and not fucking LISTEN?! Is he an expert in s6xn9ne-style 'hiphop'?

While I love this album, I do understand that other albums might have more to say. Eminem said it somewhere - his canvas is already pretty full with stuff he has said and rapped about. It's harder to rap when you've said so much already, because what else can you say that hasn't been said over and over? Younger/fresher artists might have more freedom in that regard.
