i did step by step closely and nothing worked. i got the motion tracking working just fine i just want to know how to add the keyframes from the motion tracking and kid you not i waited for like 5 minutes or more it still didnt add.

When you save your project it messes up your keyframes so you have to reopen the program once in a while

It does not work for me!!! When I try to load keyframes from motion tracker, my saved preset from motion tracker does not show????
Thanks, I am just learning keyframes and this is way easier. Can't wait to try it out. FYI the latest version of Shotcut in the Ubuntu repo was 22.01.30 so I had to download the newest version manually. Great video!!

If I have a motion-tracked moving across the screen, and want to make it temporarily disappear (e.g., from 1.07 - 1.25), and look like it is moving behind someone or something, could I accomplish this in Shotcut by doing the following:
1. Creating two Video Tracks
2. Duplicating the footage from 1.07 - 1.25, and moving that duplicate clip to the upper Video Track, so that it will be visible from 1.07 - 1.25, blocking the footage from the lower Video Track during that time (because the upper VT takes priority) Creating the Motion Tracking on the lower Video Track
3. Obviously, the Motion-Tracking would be on the lower video track of the two

I don't have motion tracking effect is it official effect or an custom effect uploaded into shotcut files?
is anyone else having difficulties with the linux mint flathub for the latest version shotcut app?
I'm confused on if the motion tracking got an update because i tried to use it to track a ball but after i positioned it and pressed analyze, the colored preview box disappeared and it didnt track it? I tried to re-open shotcut and even save the preset but nothing happened? I'm kinda at a loss on what to do and there's no recent video that explains it again.
Found out why, it's because the video has been snipped. Doesn't work like that for some reason idk why. Bug?

man, this is way to complex, how can i track lets say the serial number of a drone in the air and use a mask to blur that part? Thats why i hate shotcut, there is nothing automatic but thank you for this tutorial, it worked really well. I guess i had a shotcut version from 2020 or something like that, now i updated to get the motion tracking.
Is there any way to zoom in and track an object in the original video especifically? Because in the video he made a separate image follow the motion tracking, and I wanna follow an object while zoomed in
Nvm I made it work, in case someone else has the same issue I solved it by manually altering every keyframe to zoom into the correct object

Has anyone experienced performance issues with shotcut?
If anyone has the problem that loading motion tracker does nothing just save the project, close and open shotcut, it will fix that bug
When I tried hitting the "load keyframes from motion tracker" and selected the motion tracker and reference then hit apply nothing happened.

Me too. Read your comment and then tried it really hoping it would work for me but it didn't. I can play the track fine. It shows the green box following what I want. I can save it. Then try and load it and nada, nothing, no key frames appear.
I'll take a look at this. Hopefully I can come up with something to help you out with this!
It's so incredibly buggy. It's atrocious.

I'm not much for commenting on channels but I wanted to give my opinion about the shorcut motion tracker... VERY BAD, really bad and I say that from the flow of use to the result it presents.
The community had been waiting for this tool for a long time and when it was finally implemented it was this crap (sorry for the term)
Anyway, there is hope that over time the tool will evolve to the point of becoming at least acceptable.
It's just an opinion and doesn't mean it's the absolute truth... nobody owns the truth!
Congratulations again for all the work done on the channel and also thank you for all these teachings that were given.

I've said it many times before. Shotcut is BETTER than KDENLive and it's not even close.
@@jstnmrvn If you've ever been to the bug list for KDENLive, it's insane. They need help. I don't have the time and from looking at code, a lot needs to be rewritten IMO. I feel for them and wish them luck.
