Very sad what people have done to add question to her name. Sad. Kathryn E. Smith a true Patriot and American, and lets not forget all the good things she had done. RIP Kate, we will never see the likes of you ever again!
What a fabulous singer and person who became ill for ten years and faded from our consciousness for a long time. She is a national treasure for her inspiring, comforting great voice, and personality during the Great Depression and WWII on radio, records and tours to entertain and encourage our men going off to fight. Kate entertained for thousands of hours on radio, recorded hundreds of songs, introduced over 600 songs on radio that became hits and are well-loved still today." God Bless America", of course, was introduced by Kate on radio on Armistice Day in 1938. Besides the Medal of Freedom bestowed on her by President Regan in 1982, she was also honored after her 1986 death, in 2010 with a United States stamp and ceremony on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
It’s too bad we do hear her name at Yankee Stadium no more Kate Smith is a legend Yankee Stadium bring back her song during the 7th inning stretch in 2024 baseball season as a Mets fan the Mets should do the same thing.

Hard to believe how fast Kate Smith declined in just 10 years. She looked great in 1976, its sad to see her confined to a wheelchair
Goosebumps every time.
They should do a movie about her life

Kate Smith was America
She lost so much weight in her later years
She never married
