I have a 2017 240, from the first day I bought it I had carburetor problems. I wish we had a small engine repairman like you. The local guy here, his mom had to spoon feed him until he was 12. I'll have to change the carburetor if my old fingers lets me. Great video young man, subscribed and thumbs up !!!

Was very useful your video. The problem in May case the problem was the small filter near the diaphragm in the carburettor, it was dirty. I cleaned it with gasoline and returned to recover my chainsaw. thank you!

Thanks for the tutorial -- your tips and clear video helped my do a carb swap on my own 240 which had stopped running. I also did the lines since my kit came with them.

And that’s why I HATE working on Husqvarna. You have to read half the saw apart just to remove the carb. That’s the 3rd time you have taken that apart. 1 to clean it 2 to rebuild it 3 to replace it. They’re a pain in the butt. Great video. I’m glad I don’t have to work on them anymore. I have guys do it for me lmao

Thanks for making this video, I found it very helpful when I switched out the carb on this chainsaw. I couldn't start the damn thing so I ordered an aftermarket carb that was very inexpensive. What I found when I changed out everything was a shock. The fuel lines inside the fuel tank had disintegrated, hence the reason it didn't start ( I bought the chainsaw new). When I went to change out the fuel lines that go into the fuel tank that's when things got interesting. Turns out they don't make the holes that go down into the fuel tank big enough to thread your new fuel lines into. I ended up having to find harder plastic material to act as a bypass between the fuel filter line and line to carb. What a joke. Having to re-engineer this chainsaw was not on my itinerary. I would like to have a "conversation" with the Husqvarna engineers who created this. I'll never by another Husqvarna, ANYTHING, never mind a chainsaw.

    Good video,
but would always recommend to use original Zama (or equivalent) repair kits for the carp they run 20$ or less too.The OEM usually lasts forever.

I know this is an old video but I was wondering if there was any reason why the air filter box won't come off? I tried beating on it and pulling to the point of damn near breaking. It feels like there's another fastener of some sort near the bottom right stud. Is it really just a case of being seized on there somehow? Are all 240 x-torq the same despite year?

Yes! It was very informative. Just wondering how different the 235 Husqvarna is from the 240? Thanks again.

Just a question, the 2 studs with 8mm nut (hold the carb), is it normally loose...? Yeah, after i've taken out the carb.

2- 10mm nuts and a long T20 screw holds the box in place.

  • @evilTexanBBQ

Noticed you held down the trigger when starting, I've got to do the same on mine. Is that just a Husqvarna thing or does that carb need to be adjusted?

What can possibly be wrong with the original carburettor like that?
    Honestly!
Are those Zama carbs? And then an aftermarket for a Chinese Zama?
To me it seems always better to fix the original one.

Tip: Check out this guy. He obviously knows how to fix these Zama stratifier carbs. There is a hidden jet under the throttle shaft!
      Might be good to know.
