  • Donna Kehm is a brand new user of the TruTone® Electrolarynx. She has only been using the device for about an hour, and has already learned how natural it is to add intonation with the patented TruTone® Electrolarynx technology.

The tone of the voice box is controlled by the amount of pressure put on the button - the button she presses with her thumb.

The older ones sound like and electric razor, and the new ones sort of sound like a computer speech generator program (IE textaloud).

So you have to remove your vocal cords in order to use that thing?

@@june4135 WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes you do have to have your voice box removed to use that thing!!! and that thing is called a servox artificial larynx it is for laryngectomees who have had their vocal cords removed and have an opening in their neck called a stoma the person orders the artificial larynx online and the person who has lost their voice put the unit up to their neck and the person presses a button and sends vibration in them so that they can speak it almost sounds robotic :( but the trutone artificial larynx does give intonation to the voice .
