- Today we're back in Scrap Mechanic for some Multiplayer Monday Spleef action! Check out the ridiculous Spleef arena that I built to challenge my friends and make sure to check out what arenas they built! When doing delayed starts like this, might be worth to have an automatic start function.
A few ideas how to do it:
- always on, but attached via a cardboard block that gets shot off.
- On Switch not connected to the seat, activated via targeted spudgun.
Also a maybe fun spleef idea: start at a slower then usual speed, after 30 seconds increase the speed by adding a 2nd motor + bearings, repeat every 30seconds until it's so fast that you can't fit enough spudguns on anymore. Any ScrapMechanic glitchiness fully intended. 😇

Oh, I know I was being obnoxiously pedantic. I chose not to cite the original run because it wasn't typically hosted by a trio from what I can tell.
I never watched the original though, and I'm basing my understanding off Wikipedia, so there may have been periods where it was a trio.
A fun idea might be to make a spleef arena with a spleef car with power-ups. The power-ups could be like a single use when you want to use it and obtained when you ride over a coloured piece of cardboard with a sensor so they can still be cut out. Upgrades could be like putting down a bom, a temporary speed boost, short break in the spud guns or maybe even to slow down for a bit. For your current idea with the bots might also be an idea to put an unbreakable wall around the car so the bots cant get to the driver but can damage the platform. I don’t know for sure how feasible it is since i haven’t played the game myself but i always really enjoy watching you guys play. Keep up the good work!

Glad to see you three still playing SM together. I stopped watching because i lost interest in scrap mechanic but just recently got a pc that can handle the game pretty well. Getting back into it :)

Idea for the next arena. Rescue spleef. Scatter glow bugs around the map and you have to get them and bring them back to your base. Most glow bugs wins
A row of Spudguns along the back timed to shoot spuds at something like 3 sec intervals so it leaves parallel lines instead of one long line.

Love to see a hybrid of a maze with spleef.
I love the chaos... but the bots do so much damage that nobody dies because of the spleef. 😢

Spleef idea, not sure how practical it is.
Every car has two chairs.
Chair one has controls to turn the vehicle on and control it, as well as what I will call The Safety.
Chair two overrides the turning controls used by chair one, allowing other players to jump in and briefly control their opponents vehicle.
All vehicles have a light on them that will turn on if chair one is unoccupied for 5 seconds, as well as a bomb that explodes if unoccupied for at least 10 seconds. The Safety is the button to reset the timer on the light and bomb.
You could make the spawn point color coded , so people know what to expect. - or at least coded to threat level, or frequency.
Then make them infinite, triggering every X seconds (different for different spawners)
Lastly, make it so they can be cut out and dropped off the map. Players now can try to eliminate spawners.
For bonus - could have nearby sensors that detect when a spawner is removed and spawn extra bots from other locations.
The "script" joke can be taken so out of context, Without scrapmans video.
future idea similar setup but with glow bugs that will eat the arena over time so potentially you could lose by glow bug
that'd be fun!
You know what would be cool? Making a "turret" with a tapebot.
Getting knocked out of the seat will make some unexpected events

seeing you guys running after your cars how about a "Mad Hatter Spleef" where every "X" Seconds or minutes you MUST change places and run to another persons car

What if the cars could self-drive when the player gets out to fight bots? Perhaps adapting Kan's fully autonomous ones?
i wish their was a way to add models cause zombies themed robots could be cool
And that's the pains of being a developer learning how to balance the game. Also an upgrade to you bot vs spleef would be having painted bots that run around attacking each other and trigging explosive launchers that shoot big holes into the map
Or just explosive tapebots in general

Idea for next spleef: R/C spleef
Make a spleef arena were you have to build your spleef car before entering into the arena everybody gets there own garage and it has a time limit before the garage is opned up then have a second time limit were you can choose to risk keep working on your car and when that time is up the garage falls down into the abyss

what about one version where each vehicle has two seats. another player can jump in your seat and drive you off the edge but their vehicle is still driving off so its a risk. or with exposed button that can be shot by other players guns

i actually can't watch the video because it makes me really nauseous from all the camera vibrations and weird camera movements.
i think scrapman uses different camera setting that solves all of that? i've never played the game so idk. please consider looking into that if that's ok?
Not sure i like spleef with bots. Also kosmo's laugh sounds like krusty the clown from the simpsons lol.
Kosmo do a spleef with the vehicles having the guns on the left and right side firing at the same time. Been suggesting this to Kan for a few weeks but not sure if he saw it. I think it would be interesting to see how it'd play out.
It's an odd concept fo sho, I just wanted to give it another try since last time the farmbot was a little too aggro 😬
