I reside in florida and i was really impressed with your tips :) Its also neat to hear someone else's perspective that does not live in florida.
Great to hear this feedback. Thanks for watching and taking time to leave this comment. Much appreciated
Tip about Early Park Admission (getting in an hour early). Usually there will only be 1-2 rides dedicated to open at that time. And the rest you'll have to wait until the park actually opens. But those 1-2 rides are usually the most popular rides.
Also, shout out to Carlos and Aaron!
Thank you so much for this! I was looking through so many videos and this was exactly what I was needing. So helpful and concise; perfect for the adult traveller going for the first time. God bless!

I usually watch your cruise video tips but came across this one for Universal Studios while looking for videos of their suites. As always, great information!
Oh, fantastic information about the hogwart's express. Sneaky universal!
You didn’t know that wow

Have fun!!! :D
My all time favorite park!!
Mine too!!!
Thanks going now August 25 2018 was helpful
Everything was well said
The rain issue is mostly in the summer/early fall if I remember correctly, still an excellent travel guide
playboymaxim I declare I’ve been going many years now in early June. It rains every day in the early evening!!! LOL 😂 I’m good cause I go early and then I’m eating out by the time the rain 🌧 comes.
Thanks for the tips! I'm going on a solo trip in February 2019. I'll be staying at Universal's Adventura Hotel, which is opening in two weeks.
Hey how was your trip?
Do they offer early entry and express pass? How did you like it?
Lots of interesting and surprising information that some travel guides don't even mention! HP fans, beware, you will find it difficult to get a clear shot of Hogwarts because everyone will be holding their phones/cameras up high to get the same view. I never thought about that until a travel guide mentioned this.
May be staying at Royal Pacific in may, fingers crossed!
In two days, with ExpressPass, you can thoroughly experience both parks if you have a 2 park ticket. A third day for Volcano Bay. No rushing, time for food and cocktails. However, we always spend 5 days. Trip number 16 comes this August.
We're going in April,Do you know which park is best for a 5yr old?
Nice Video👍🏻
Some additional tips for your video. Bring the bag bc for some of the rides you cannot bring your phone and will have to be put in a locker anyways(also good for carrying wands). It's a plus if the bag is waterproof. I normally do water rides first and dry off with the roller coasters. So i bring flip flops for the water rides and change back into shoes. I also would bring a change of clothes like a pair of shorts and a tshirt in case you do get soaking wet bc even though ponchos are great and all they will never keep you completely dry. Start in the back of the parks and work your way to the front.
Thanks for the video! I just found your channel and me and my boyfriend are going to Orlando at the end of this month so we are trying to figure out what to do! Do you have a video on traveling on a budget in Orlando or just in general? New Subscriber!
Great to hear! Thanks for subscribing. I don't have any general Orlando travel tips videos (yet!)
Excellent list!! Annual pass is the only other tip I have. You can get great annual pass on site hotel rates sometimes! Extra thumbs up for the poncho tip! I always have a few dollar store ones in my bag 😄
Good point and tip! Thanks
This year when you bought the Annual Pass you got six months free. Good deal. I think ended in April.
I would also add that if you plan on going to both UO and IOA for more than 2 days, even if you only visit the resort once in a year, it's often cheaper to get the lowest level Annual Pass. If you get the preferred or premier passes, you'll also get 10-15% OFF merchandise, food, and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as discounts on Freestyle cups and the refills. Oh and now the locker system has changed for 2019... most of the rides they cut the locker size in half, and they're free. However, the old size is now $2/rental.
I hope to be able to go to Universal once the 'rona isn't an issue (so earliest 2022), and this answered a bunch of questions. Thanks!
Great advise - I give this in emails to all the guests that stay at our villa and I will send a link to this in the future.
Great thanks!!
Hi, would like to find out prices on your villa for end of July this year, thanks
This video made me decide to visit the parks real soon all the way from Belgium! (Well ofc. post corona)
Great video, if you think I wouldn't notice the clip from EPCOT snuck in there, I did. =)
Eek. Which shot!? I had so much footage form my visit as did all the parks (Disney and Universal) and did I get them mashed up.... oops. Well spotted...
It's ok, I know the parks really well. About 11:03 is the Japan Pavilion from Epcot's World showcase. Sorry, I thought you knew.
We go to Orlando usually once per year (2106, we went to LA). I pretty much agree with this list even as a traveler visiting during the summer months with a wife & son. I might add that sometimes Universal will sell park tickets with buy 2 days get 2 free. We have been staying at the Royal Pacific for 2 nights and we get 3 days of Express Passes that can be picked up in the resort lobby. With the convenience of location that makes the resort price more tolerable. Resort parking is $20 or $25 per day & you can come and go as you please at no additional cost but to be honest we are just staying at the resort until the stay is over. I find the security check for those staying at the resorts to be rather quick.
Spring break and summer months is crowded and hot. Go end of Jan or Feb beautiful weather no crowds.
Very helpful thanks. If we are visiting with slightly younger kids who won't want to do the really big rides, is it possible to do both parks in a single day do you think?
Great information! Thanks for all your hard work putting this video together. Very helpful!!!
Thanks so much! Great to hear you enjoy the videos. Please keep watching
If you are in the military or was in, check out shades of green or call one of your military installations and find out where you can get the discount tickets. Believe you me it's a good savingsi
There is a Military Welfare and Rec Office on Tradeport Dr. next to the BX near the airport. Just need your military I.D.
What do you think? Do you have any other tips or suggestions?
In order to comment I must visit it.
Tips For Travellers universal is fucking boring
Park at the on-site resorts rather than the main garage. Less hassle, plenty of close empty spots, and you go through a small security check at the hotel (if you take a boat) or on the path (if you walk) rather than the long airport like lines at the main entrance. Sometimes they just let you in the hotel garages free of charge. Overall a much better way to start a visit.
For an English guy you did a great job.
Great information, thank you for this video, can you advise as I have heard that disabled and people with autism go to the front of queues ,is this correct , thanks
I think there is a special entrance yes
Thank you very informative. I'm traveling with adults this summer. Any recommendations for hotels on site of universal property where we can stay ?
I stayed off property but was keen on the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel. As that looked best fro adults and had planned to stay there
Thank you again. You are such a great help with the videos. Have a great weekend !!
question, does universal do like disney where your room key also acts as your ticket or do you need to get your physical ticket at some point?
You need a ticket or pass but can use your room key to charge things in the parks
Great guide! If done it nearly the same way. A few side notes:
Food:
Dont expect the disney way of "making u happy" its more like getting the last drops of blood out of your wallet! We didnt find the self service areas (didnt know about them), most of the other places serviced tiny potions with exeptional low quality (the saddest hotdog in my live) for insane pricing.
Rides:
It is possible to challenge both parks in 1 day even on a public holiday, like you said with an express pass.
However, if you try to do that be very prepaired.
-Keep your kids at home (or do it in 2 days)
-dont waist money on multiride express-pass, the rides are mindblowing Yes! But you will not have the time to do them several times+ see all + have some small (10 min.) breaks keeping you sane ;)
personal experience:
We did that, 2 guys in there mid 30th´s on eastern holiday one with a yearlong and heavy comic/potter addiction the other with a love for rides the harder the better, all day long if possible and some other sanity issues under the cover.
We were both used to play hard and we were both totally exausted at the end, overwelmed with the insane amount of awsome things we did in just 1 day.
For reference Im german and been multiple times to Phantasialand, Soltau, Europa-park, Legoland, some smaller parks and also 2 times to EU Disney +1 sad day in Disney Orlando (what is the same as EU) since I was a child.
In my opinion you cant even compare one of them to Universal!
If I had to make a list of the top 10 rides in my life most of them have been at this 1 day in Orlando! The details in the created worlds + the top tear state of the arts rides deserves a class of its own, at least compared to what I have seen so far.
If you love amusment parks and you are near Orlando, do it! It is worth the insane price!
Wow! Thanks for leaving such detailed comments and tips. This is really helpful I am sure to people checking this out. I agree with you on Universal. I love the place....!
This was very helpful! Thank you! Seeing your video helped me to know that I don't want to visit these parks, which eliminates cost and time for me. I didn't know what was there and we are hoping to come back to Orlando, but now I can just remove these from the list. Thanks!
For people who are not into roller coasters with big drops (like the Hulk coaster), which rides would you recommend?
M Sammy
The Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is a very good ride
Looking to take my nieces and nephew to Universal Studios in 2020. Ages 17 & 14. Two things I am trying to decide:
1. When to go Spring Break (4/12-4/18) or right after school, June 7-13
2. Someone commented about rides not being good for bigger people. How big are we talking? My nephew is a bigger boy, so want to make sure this is a good idea
Any help is much appreciated 😊
I'm a teacher with in laws in Orlando. Is there any time (weekdays) in the summer that would be most worth my ticket price?
Monday through Wednesday
Fantastic rides and very helpful tips! …Are there any mosquitoes there, if you don’t mind my asking?..
No there are not. Which is good !
Je vis a 'Orlando
2 rides I would not recommend is F&F and Race through New York. Both trashy motion rides.
I am kid breaking the rules
What is it like there in mid November? Am planning on going in 2020 for the weekend of Nov 13-15th. What typically is the weather like and the crowds ?
Watch out as you are getting close to USA Thanksgiving (which is usually around 22 November) as it could be VERY busy if people arrive that weekend for time off for Thanksgiving. The price of hotels will give you. close as if you see them higher than earlier weekends in the month then that is sign people will be there....
Right, just looked at a calendar for Nov 2020, yes could be tricky, I will rely on my Cousin's friend who will be doing all the planning as we will be coming from Disney World, [ Nov 8th-13th] on that Friday and only staying till Sunday, to figure out the best logistics, as we will be all Adults and possibly a very small group. Thank you for your response and for your very informative video as well!
That should be good after Halloween crowd and before Thanksgiving vacations. Have fun
I have a question. I’ve been to theme parks that don’t allow you to bring your bags on the ride but they do have an area where you can place your items while your ride and then pick them up after. Does Universal not do this?
Yes universal has this
The rides have locker rooms next to them. There are videos on this site that show how to use them.
What are your thoughts on accessibility at Universal? I have found the Disney is very good at making sure that I as a person with mobility issues can get on almost any ride I’m not sure how it works for universal
I did not watch out for it specifically but do recall there were lines, ramps and areas. I am not 100% sure on some of the big rollercoasters and there Harry Potter Hogwarts ride as there was a moving platform to get on and off the ride
If they are planning on riding rides, I give a big no on that one.
The more thrilling rides, some you have to walk up flights of stairs. Other have QUICK moving platforms to board the ride. If they arent bigger person friendly. They have seatboutside the ride for the person to test if they can fit.
The 3d and less trilling rides ARE accessibile, i would say. With ramps and lifts.
tbh September-October cant really be considered a quiet time anymore because of Halloween Horror Nights
kc270352...I was going to the same thing especially the week of Halloween. HHN is considered one of the top Halloween events in the country.
Susan Burris yep exactly
kc270352 I am going there to in October
Niall Walsh just be aware that the days on Halloween Horror Nights will be busy
Actually... The day time portion of the park is less congested because of HHN. Surprisingly, people are not spending the money for both events.
Man I wanna meet Shrek so bad
Im alwaus looking for rides for wimps. Any suggestions?
I’m scared of the big rollercoasters but find the 4D rides okay so those are worth a try
Spiderman is a 3D ride that doesn't go up or down probably any more than three feet, transformers is the same ride system as spiderman, forbidden journey or the Harry Potter ride inside the castle is a similar ride to spiderman and transformers but it can move in more directions that can kinda flip you up side down so if you don't like that feeling, I would give it a try because it's not that intense but may be fun even if you don't like the up side down feeling. Jimmy Fallon and minion mayhem are both moving theater rides that stay stationary but just bank. And Simpsons is like a moving theater but slightly different. It moves up around 10 to 15 feet up and is pretty much a moving theater then. Et is is just a cool experience that never goes really fast, but is smells great and has decent animatronics with no screens. Mummy is 46 feet at it's highest while being thrilling, it's nearly as bad as hulk and rip ride. Gingotts being my second favorite is a unique ride that is a coaster but a simulator. It has a small 30 feet drop at the start but the rest is like spiderman and transformers on a coasters track. Until the last part of the ride which is a launched section that is literally just to bring you back to the station level. If you have any other ride questions, just ask and if I see it I will try to answer it I guess.
Thank you. love you videos
Good question because I have sensory processing disorder (as do other family members) and some of the rides are just too much for us. I end up doing a lot of walking and sitting and smiling at those who are having fun on the rides.
Tried shrek 4d that eas lots of sound and some chair movement. No drops or twirling. About only ride we ended up taking were harry potters train and the kids cat in the hat.🐽not planning to return to universal anytime soon
Its nearly a real trip to universal.
:-) Thanks ! Good to hear
early january , school is out
Agree 👍🏻
But the Brits, Scots and even the Australians and Brazilians pour into the parks like a tidal wave. There is no Harry Potter theme park in the UK. I went in mid-January and the buses to the parks were crowded!
Rocksack = backpack
Titel: "for adults"
Me: Lets pretend I didn't saw that
Old and not good looking guy ?! Oh my goodness ! Who said ugly ?! Ha ha ha
Are there strip clubs for the kiddos?
Yeah. I heard your mom was the star attraction.
Crack a smile john......otherwise people will think universal is rubbish!!
I farted on every ride here.
Disney is "big Person" friendly, Universal is a complete waste of money if you are a big person. I am a big guy and can easily fit on EVERY Disney World ride, but very few of the premium rides at Universal. They have "testing" chairs outside rides, so it is a huge problem they recognize.
Good to know that. I did see the seats outside and now makes more sense why!!!!
They have to draw the line somewhere. They can’t make rides to fit after a certain weight point and still work for the rest of the guests. Disneyworld did the same thing with the Flight of Passage ride. Larger guests cannot fit into the seat.
iT'S SO REFRESHING TO SEE YOU NOT DO A CUISE VIDEO
Fast and furious is TERRIBLE
Don't go it sucks waste of money. Overrated I have done every ride.
We've just discovered your videos and are really enjoying them. Full of great tips and advice.
