Burt Lancaster had one of the best voices ever, and was an absolutely awesome, progressive guy.
He also had the largest face in film history.
Lmao this guy is a rapist but ok.
“Progressive” is the most misleading term in political history
The “progression” you so foolishly admire is behind the depravity prevalent in 2024 American “culture.”
He could sing too❤😊
What an intelligent, articulate, interesting man, I loved his passion for life and really enjoyed his performance in The Swimmer.
An actor I've loved all my life; for his beauty, intelligence and humanity.
As this interview shows, Burt Lancaster was as impressive in real life as he was in his films...many thanks for uploading such a rare gem.
He was a repulsive leftist. He opposed hearings on unamerican activities, which we now know could have and should have stopped the Marxist infiltration of this country
Burt was such an intelligent articulate human being, you can see why he would need to be in control of his destiny regards Hollywood and its control of so many actors , love his great body of work on the screen hes such a fascinating person to listen to
You are the great man 💟
Thanks so much 💓🌷🌹🌼🍒🌸
agreed
Burt Lancaster was such a great actor. I loved his movies. Most all the greats are gone.

yes they are!!
This man was my Fathers favorite actor.. In fact i was named after this man. I enjoy learning more and more about the man i was named after..
I love to listen to Mr Lancaster being interviewed, he is so well spoken and does not force his opinions on others, merely answers questions as honestly as he can. Todays actors seem to lack personality and the ability to converse well.
One of if not the Greatest actor ever..Legendary. ❤
One of my alltime favourite actors ever! What a brilliant man!
What an interesting rare interview with Burt Lancaster who seemed to be enjoying talking to Russell Harty.
I love Burt Lancaster forever 💖💖💖🥰🥰🥰🌸🌸🌸
I’m absolutely charmed by his grace, his deep intellect and has to be one of the finest actors to grace the stage of motion pictures. I’m glad that we can all be together to celebrate the golden age of Hollywood. I’ll be sure to ensure my children know the names of all the finest golden age films and actors. What a time to be an actor!
Just to add Orson Welles as Edward Rochester in Jayne Eyre showcases another giant in the acting world phenomenal performance, Welles voice has to be the most powerful one surely in the golden age alongside Clark Gable
My words exactly! 👏🏻👏🏻
He had such awareness and intelligence
He was a serious artist! As far as I am concerned his role as Elmer Gantry has not been equaled anywhere, anytime.
And, Sweet Smell of Success, to name just a couple of excellent performances on Burt's resume.
I think "Come Back Little Sheba" was his best
I had the honor
as a young actor of working with him later in his career in Tough Guys in a co star role Only as an older person when I was able to view his work did I realize how brilliant he was. His monologue in Judgement in Nuremburg is profound as well as so many other roles. . He was so kind to me during our breaks on set. He keeps inspiring me to do good work. Thanks Mr. LANCASTER. 😊
JUDGMENT IN NUREMBERG is a marvelous film, with a great broad story, a great love story that ends sadly, and performances that are stunning from older actors who ABSOLUTELY. FUCKING. NAIL. IT. Also the camera movement, lighting, direction is JUST. BRILLIANT. JUST F’ING BRILLIANT.
Tough Guys was a decent flick. I was a teen then.It was also the debut of Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Tough Guys was an '80s classic! It also introduced red hot chili peppers to the world.
Burt’s look was ahead of it’s time so much so that he looks modern and better looking than the host who is 25 years younger!
lol not a single actor on earth today to give this level of insight
A very attractive man ,great actor too
What a legend. Burt Lancaster was a national treasure.
One of Hollywoods' greatest actors and human. Love all of his movies. And to this day I haven't seen them all.
I loved his acting in _Separate Tables._
I’ve always loved Burt since the first film I saw him in. The teeth, the smile, the voice and the way he moved! He shares his birthday with me 🥰
Physically, he had such a great feline grace for such a large, muscular man!
Happy birthday :)
I happened upon this by accident, but "mankind is a limited kind of animal" may be one of the greatest truisms about humanity I've heard.
Mr Lancaster didn't do many television interviews so this is rare,a very strong intelligent man, interested Ng t hear him say he wasn't religious ,in a traditional way and yet he believed in a higher power, great talker, I think if you were to hold a conversation with him and keep up with him you would have to know your stuff, sham this was so short.great post.cah see why he and Kirk Douglas got on, both very similar.
Love Burt ! Everything that he stood for and the observation of life !!! ❤️
Such a brilliant actor. Lovely to hear him discuss his craft with (of all people Russell Harty!)
Gran actor!!!👏👏👏
Great in John Frankenheimers "The Train ". Did all his own stunts. A glorious intelligent fantastic actor and man ..
Incredible film, that. Just watched it for the first time a couple of days ago.
@@RussMcClay i literally am just finishing this movie and i have to agree .. truly incredible. As the comment above mentions , all his own stunts we're obvious and surprising , in part of some of the things he actually did .. getting kicked off a train , taking a hard fall after getting shot . There was no cut or anything throughout the scene so you know it was him doing these stunts which makes him as an actor all the more impressive
Burt was one of the all time great actors! Love his films. This short interview shows he was a very intelligent man.
He was a great actror
His last role as Doc 'Moonlight' Graham in ' Field of Dreams ' says it all about a real actor . Shone past Kevin Costner in his last scene. What a true Film Star. I still miss Kirk Douglas as well! The days of movie magic seem long gone.
they are
Win one for me one time will ya boys....my favourite character ever....Doc 'moonlight' Graham....Burt was the most versatile of them all...
What a actor and gentleman he was one of the of the old time greats
I waited forever for a movie with John Wayne and Burt Lancaster; and another with Burt Lancaster and Robert Mitchum. God bless them!
Great actor from a by gone age
Burt Lancaster was an immensely talented actor in who had the innate ability to elevate a character he portrayed to a high degree of charm, pathos, sensitivity, and stark realism as well. His portrayals of the various people in every film he acted in was a true work of art and genuinely authentic performance of the craft of acting. A legend of screen and stage was what Burt Lancaster truly was.
Fantastic interview! please upload more of his interviews.
Burt had such eloquence and screen presence! Eminently watchable!😉
pulsated with energy....
Love burt he eas handsome a great actor and a gentleman and proud he is part irish
He could have been President of the US, and ironically in '7 days in May', he was trying to remove a President. He is obviously a sensible intellectual. His best movie was The Train. Fantastic. Without doubt one of the very finest actors.
I loved the film “ the swimmer “ .
A brilliant peace of art and makes you think very deeply…
He & Robert Mitchum were the best of their generation.
Excellent, impressive interview with Mr. Lancaster. He was one of a kind.
Sweet smell of Success 👏👏👏
Loved his acting.Intelligent man.
One of my heroes when I was young great actor
mr Lancaster is astonishing with his strong appeal.
What an intelligent man that left school early and became one of the great star of television my favourite
God bless you Burt. You won't ever be forgotten.
One of the smartest actors.
One of his best is 7 Days in May.
Never get tired of watching "The Train"
You can tell that Lancaster is comfortable with the interviewer. In the 60's Mike Wallace made a flippant remark and Lancaster got up and walked out. Wallace later said " I thought he was going to hit me "
Cool interview.
Imagine a chat show today that was as engaging and insightful as these old ones. Of course if they were then the deliberate dumbing down of society would be that bit more difficult.
I can’t image a Hollywood star speaking so intelligent and having Ideas as such.
I just watched The Swimmer. It's a powerful film, although difficult to watch. Lancaster was fantastic in it.
Фильм завораживающий , с глубоким смыслом. Бёрт Ланкастер столь мощная харизматическая личность, с зашкаливающей энергетикой, потому от фильма не оторваться.
BL.. Comes across as a honest actor whom I liked unlike the actors of the 21st century... Tony cuenca
Xcellent interview & gee Burt Lancaster was straight 2 the point & spot on in his views of mankind. What was this movie he is talking about . If anyone knows could u let me know... thx kindly Robert Australia
I just loved his acting. Just great.
What presence. Guy was a mountain.
This interview was circa 1973.
From here to eternity- “ I was born smart ma’am” Best line of all time love you Burt
Any woman would melt
One of my favourite actors terrific in Elmer gantry
Burt landcater one of the old time greats what a actor and gentleman sad there will never another burt and all the old time greats pitty

Russel Harty :-( BAD interviewer... Burt Was a LEGEND :-)
Very interesting interview. Can you upload more of them?
Is the full version available and is their anymore in depth interviews . I have not seen any till this which is brilliant. Thank you
My favourite film of his was The Train. That film showed his true ability without resorting to his circus skills.
He did a quick shimmy down a metal ladder at one stage in The Train when under air attack! (Was that the air attack where we never actually saw an airplane??
@@cathalocathain4416 Never saw a trapeze either..lol!!
Burt Lancaster was a role model in every since of the word
Burt Lancaster was a marvelous man! As a woman Oh how I would have loved to have had him as a lover! 💕
What a absolute Legend he was! Phenomenal actor 🤩
Burt Lancaster was a versatile actor. He is known for serious roles, mostly positvie and rarelj negative as in Veracruz. His roles in 'From Here to Eternity' or 'Gunfight at the OK Coral'depict quite different style. Even in a comedy like 'Halleluja Trail he was unique. This interview reflects his depth and intellect.'
I loved Burt x
With the camera angle Burt looks like a giant compared to a much smaller Russell ...
What a guy !! Very complex character . A deep thinker .
Yes , he had character flaws but overall a giant of the acting
profession.
One of my favorite actors...
I think Burt would've made a wonderful Vincent Van Gogh character.
Burt!
Great actor ..
Um ícone da indústria cinematográfica Americana 👏👏👏👏👏👏
One of the greatest actors ever.Im unfortunately in Florida no electricity so I can't watch a DVD of Burt's it's hell with no AC
What an actor and a gentleman and so handsome and the fact he was from belfast so proud he wad
Don't think he was from Belfast.
he was from east harlem.
All four of his grandparents were from Belfast
Lancaster was a force of nature and, though he’s somewhat dismissed these days, he was quite a trailblazer. Never played it safe as an actor, always challenging himself to portray a variety of characters. The clearest diction of any actor, especially after Brando turned mumbling into an art form. Lancaster was also a great supporter of the civil rights movement, when others like John Wayne and Gary Cooper, among many others, were opposed to FDR’s and LBJ’s achievements. Even at the end, he would take small parts in quality films - Local Hero, Field of Dreams.
Pure Legend !
He had one of the greatest laughs. Every time I hear it, it makes me laugh too.
Burt was a child of the New York City’s streets. Growing up in Manhattan’s upper East Side section of Harlem. He was a lot more than Street wise. A bruiser of a man but eloquent. It seems that he didn’t take such good care of his health.
أسطورة السينما العالميه بيرت لانكستر
Lancaster was a very smart, tough guy, a mix of great aggressiveness and kindness and competitiveness and shyness. People don't realize it, but he was very much a contemporary of Brando's and lost several roles to him.
Burt Lancaster was not only a leading man in Hollywood but a very intelligent, progressive person who could maintain an in-depht conversation about any Kind of topic. The guy would go crazy of he saw what kind of movies are being produced today.
One of the greats of golden age of Hollywood rip
Burt Lancaster was my best actor. #elmergantry
A true legend of cinéma.
Esse ator envelheceu muito bem está ótimo!
Burt foi um dos maiores atores queu vi atuar crescir vendo seus filmes de pirata muito bom
Birdman of Alcatraz two years after Elmer Gantry was 180 degrees from that film. Also The Train and Atlantic City 1981 late in his career was an awesome performance but Burt would lose out on winning another Oscar to Henry Fonda for On Golden Pond.
THIS INTERVIEW 23.3.74
Hey Stroud there dropping like flys...birdman of Alcatraz
A giant! Check him out with young DeNiro in "1900," and as a big-headed Pentagon general turned traitor in "7 Days In May"
J.J. Hunsecker -- say no more.
One of a kind
