I was really surprised to hear about the "plastic" feel of the Modern Witch tarot coz yeah...as you mentioned...it´s everywhere! :-D And I was thinking of ordering that one but still wasn´t sure....I guess I´ll skip and wait what decks will 2021 bring. ;-) Very useful indeed.
I’m so glad you appreciated it because honestly, on account of its popularity I was concerned that wouldn’t go over too well lol. I’m hoping they reprint it on another card stock. It really is beautiful but its just absolute shit to bridge shuffle. 🤷♀️ if you don’t have the light seeker tarot though, I’d recommend that pretty highly.
@@StormieAtlantis I cannot bridge shuffle but I love when someone knows how to! :-D I was thinking of learning it but I have such a feeling to treat the cards more gently...because in some videos I have seen people using really destroyed and bent cards...I will probably stay with just a handover but still...it´s a great thing to watch and makes me excited everytime when I hear that quick shuffle sound! :-D I have watched some other reviews and I´ve seen more people commenting on how hard it is to shuffle and that they wish for a new edition on a better card stock...so let´s see, hopefully the printers will hear us all out! ;-)
If you only overhand them you might be fine with it. They’re a little slick so you might still have sliding issues but without bridging them it wouldn’t be nearly as bad ☺️
The Divine tarot deck is actually my first deck. I love it and connect with the deck so much because growing up I was so into folklords.

I just found you and I fricken' love you 😁 I think the Modern Witch is such a great deck but the card stock is so hard to work with. Also, there are so few TarotTubers who notice how awesome the Santa Muerte Tarot is. Yes again, card needs improvement but it's something I can live with for the beauty of the art and the fact that is definitely not to same old tarot deck. Thanks for your video, I truly enjoyed it. 🙏

ive had the modern witch tarot for quite some time now and honestly it’s my favorite. tho i understand why you prefer non plastic-ey material for the way you shuffle, i’m quite the opposite tbh if it’s not easy to slide i freaking hate it 😭 one example is the the moonology oracle, i’ve got hard time pulling out the cards 😬

1000% agree with you on the Modern Witch deck. That’s my one tarot deck because I’m just getting back into it, and I watched your video to learn about other decks. I LOVE the Modern Witch tarot deck, but I’m so happy to hear someone else say it shuffles like shit because I can’t shuffle it AT ALL. I have tiny hands so I thought it was me. The deck works amazingly for me, but 10/10 would agree it’s a terrible shuffle.
I LOL'd when u said something to the effect of: for the days when you really don't need your ass dragged thru the mud by the tarot. So true, haha! I can't even remember what deck it was, but omg I relate. Give me a unicorn please! U sold me on the psychic tarot n the unicorn deck fo sho. And, one of my fave decks ever- The Moonchild Tarot (pairs great w starseed n work ur light oracles) shuffles FOR SHIT. Its way too thick. I can shuffle half, n then the other half. It bums me out so much cuz beyond that its perfect n beautiful n intuitive n etc. Loved this video, stoked to watch more of yours! 🙌
I keep hearing wonderful things about that deck, but honestly if it doesn’t rifle through my fingers, realistically I won my use it. That’s why I wish they’d re-print the modern witch so badly. It looks FUCKING amazing. But the stock is unusable to me. And thank you, glad you can relate to my bullshit haha

I am new to tarot and I didn't know anything about Light Seer's. I don't even remember ordering it. All I know is what a wonderful surprise it was when it came. I have the Modern Witch but I agree about card stock. It's like credit cards.

Thks for sharing. Can you explain how do you paint the edges of the decks? (Like the blacknin the Light Seers Tarot). 🌹🌻
Its referred to as "edging" a deck, and Im sure there are a lot of tutorials if you search for it by that name. Theres probably a lot of tips and tricks out there, but basically you take a sharpie marker (I prefer to use the "chisel" kind because it has a flat edge) and go one card at a time over each edge, usually twice per card. Just go slowly. Typically sharpies will bleed slightly around the edge on the front and back as well, but Its not super noticeable and I actually really like it.

Hey, loved this video! Regarding modern witch tarot: I accidentally bought them counterfeit off of eBay (I thought they were cheap cause they were used, but they were just copied). I was initially annoyed but now realising I was actually lucky, as the card material is excellent - they are smaller and more "papery" than the original. I would recommend buying a counterfeit for your readings and keeping the original as respect to the artist?

Light Seers Tarot ..The shuffle on this deck is just about the most satisfying thing ever ..I could seriously sit n shuffle these cards to the point of being weird lol. I crave them if I don’t use them for awhile ..n the quality of the cards stay good as new, it seems like bc mine should feel like damp paper machete

Tarot of the divine was the first tarot deck I bought like two weeks ago and I totally get what you mean about the picture not syncing with the meaning. That’s exactly why I went and got the Everyday Witch tarot and it’s easier for me to read! I also just came from your video for beginners and I now intend to buy the Rider Waite tarot deck because you were so passionate about learning that one first. Addicting is not a strong enough word because my best friend and I have been having readings for hours every night this week! It feels like coming home and I can’t wait to get better. I LOVE them both. The big version has more information in the book, but it is really handy to have a description right on the card. If I was only to get one, I guess I’d say the full size.

hey stormie, new time watcher for about a week! i actually had an interesting question pop up while i was starting a journal about tarot and the oracle deck im designing. so there's this old hyper violent action movie called smokin' aces 2, assassin's ball, right? band of federal agents are protecting this guy from these assassins that are coming to kill him. and he's doing a card trick for the agents as the deadline for his elimination approaches. he explains:
"It's playing cards themselves that I'm interested in. They're based on the old tarot deck, cards that were used for foretelling the future. Can't tell you how handy that's gonna come in down here."
then one of the agents guarding him says something derogatory i needn't repeat here, uses a not nice term to describe the beliefs of using tarot (kind of forgot it was there until i pasted the quote in)

all that said, here's my question: how much of the above exampled concept of synchronicity do you believe is involved in tarot reading? i tend to fall more on the psychological interpretation tool side myself. does the representation of archetypes and human life events lend credence to that? or do you believe more in the spiritual, mystical understanding that the deck is like medium through which higher consciousness is communicating with you? and what do you think of standard playing cards used in a way similar to tarot cards? i looked it up once and actually found some resources for using them in that way, notably this one:

You seem knowledgeable about tarot as well as being decidedly practical, down to earth, and not TOO out there with the mysticism, so you seem like a good person to ask, and even if you don't want to address any of all that your videos on tarot have been enlightening and i look forward to seeing your content!
I don’t really know a concise or easy way to answer you, but essentially the answer is that I don’t see a difference between those two things. Psychological archetypes exist through ages because that herald back to a bigger picture a bigger picture that includes communicating with higher consciousness where those archetypes come from. It’s all one and the same. I still don’t feel like that paints an adequate picture. It’s like macro/micro there are large energies and forges which have and continue to play out over a millennia, those forces are hard to articulate into simple understandings, they are more conceptual, we call them archetypes, but they are essentially universal winsome and that which exists on the macro exists in the micro, we hold those within us as well. Yes I commune with higher consciousness when reading but it is still an aspect of me and if you as well. When I read someone else’s cards how is that possible? That aspect of them communicates via archetypal understanding to that aspect of me and then this 3D aspect of me communicates it to this 3D aspect of them.

I would say Rider Waite is ideal to start with but if you really dont want that then yes, light seers could be a great beginner deck

I had mixed feelings about my tarot deck and I trashed two of the cards from the deck 😭 can I still used them?
When you say “trashed two cards” do you mean that you got rid of them? Like, your deck is missing two cards? If that’s the case, no, I would recommend getting a full deck of cards. If the cards are just damaged, you should be fine, but maybe apologize to them haha.
I once gave my teenage daughter a deck of cards, and she got mad at them and set 2 of them on fire 😒 she said she didn’t want them anymore. I gave them to a friend of mine and she loved them and they worked great for her, two of the cards were just a little burnt haha🙃
