Trust me as a cyclist looking at his injuries if he hit hit head during that fall the helmet most likely literally saved his life. I’m a bit a helmet andy but yeah at certain speeds if you come off and hit your skull on the ground you’re at risk of death and some horrible injuries.

Relating to the ADHD brushing you teeth thing, the way I manage to convince my brain rattled self to brush my teeth is to go in my head every morning and night "what if i meet a person thats really infactuating and my soulmate today and within the 24 hour span i meet them we end it with a kiss, I wouldn't want my breath to stink or my lips to be stained when that happens and it ruins the moment"

During the evening is worse, but I usually just go do it when I manage to convince myself to go to bed, and then I start watching a 10-minute youtube video, so I'll end up brushing badly for 10 minutes instead of brushing well for 2 minutes, and tell myself that the end-result is the same.
In terms of ADHD, the part NL doesn't get is that ADHD is all about momentum. If we use Sisyphus as an example, when you sit down to relax, you're basically dropping the boulder and letting it roll back down, while a neurotypical person is just letting it rest against a checkpoint before they keep going. So when you've got additional/ new tasks that needs to be done, you first have to go all the way back down to get the ball before you can do anything. So the solution is to always keep going, obviously you learn to plan around this, so if you've got shit to do in the evening, you don't necessarily do your bedtime routine right away, you instead wait until after you come home from that appointment. All this also means that it's harder to relax, because either you'll relax while thinking about the shit you need to do, or you tire yourself out so much that you're unable to relax at all
Anyway, he's right about how people with ADHD would reach the next level if we were able to exchange skills with each other. We're just people who got the wrong skills during character creation, or a character from an RPG where you could choose negative traits to get extra points in other things, but the guy creating our character messed up his min-maxing and created something that requires a hyper-specific playstyle to work or it doesn't work at all.
For the shorts/socks question, I feel like it depends on the shoes Like if the shoes are clunkier/box-shaped then I wear normal socks, and ankle socks if the sneakers are more foot-conforming
