Yessir. Seattle kills it again. The Hendrix kit last year and the Bruce Lee this year. As a guy from Seattle I hope they keep this up and do tributes to seattle legends every year.
Hopefully they'll do a kit related to the Grunge era. Would be nice to see them pay tribute to Cobain, Cornell, or Staley

Hendrix was two years ago. Kits only get changes every two years. Each team only changed one kit (home or away alternating) each year.

Hendrix kit came out two years ago. And they could have done soo much more with this Bruce lee kit. It’s good, but could definitely be better.

I’d love to see more MLS content, Maqwell! The league is growing fast, and I want to know what you think needs to be fixed or improved upon in order to bring the beautiful game to more people in the States.
When I first saw the new nashville kit I was kind of underwhelmed. But then I saw it in person and it’s honestly one of my more favorite shirts the club has had.

MLS kits did so well this season. Love the originality
Adidas has done a 180 on kits in the past few years. Looked great at the World Cup and these are good too.
One thing we always do well in Portland is our Kits. Just look at our last three.
I don't actually know if having a J-League kit tier list for this year is a good representation of the league's designs, especially compared to last year's beauties. You had the hard as hell Marinos retro kit, everything Kagoshima United did in the 3rd division. Instead, this year's has Nike being cheeky and made their kits' logos uncentered to hell. Gonna still like though
la galaxy’s jersey was actually inspired by the city of los angeles flag and its colors and not their retro kits
As in flags, seeing purple on a kit makes me a very happy man. Orlando City still has my support, cause that kit is still fire!
My favourite part ,"the Austin FC Designer was on LSD " AND " CHICAGO shirt looks like confetti fell on it and 20 years later it is stuck "🤣
I think Philadephia's away shirt, Portland Timbers's home shirt and the Seattle Sounders Bruce Lee kit were my favourites. There's something kinda nostalgic to me about that Portland Timbers shirt, the golf country club look with the colour and pattern it has is great
That Target sponsor smacked in the middle of a beautiful design for Minnesota FC is kinda preventing it from being PERFECT!
You rated the Houston kit release last year. The one they have now is a pretty cool orange kit. Only time I’ll ever compliment Houston (I’m a Fc Dallas fan lol)

For the TFC we have had a grey/onyx coloured jersey before… as our away shirt from 14-15. For years we’ve been asking for it to return. Idk who at MLSE was like “Yeaaaaaaa yk what? Make it the home jersey it’s genius!!!!!”
I honestly felt kind of excited to see the new cf Montreal kits, since their away kits last year were really good. This is just disappointing from adidas tbh, good video maqwell, love the new uploads!
TFC actually has used black and grey before, in 2014 for their away kit, I think that the 2014 kit looks much nicer than the new one, but to each their own.

It's interesting seeing Schöpp (The player on the right when Maqwell showed the Vancouver shirt) again after he was here at Arminia Bielefeld. It was such a surprise that we signed him in 2021.
Hey Maqwell just fyi the LA Galaxy kit is actually inspired by the Los Angeles flag it isn't meant to be a retro on the 90s kit it's paying homage to the city
Defending the RSL Beehive kit: It pays homage to Utah's Mormon pioneer heritage (the beehive was a symbol of industry, and the Salt Lake valley was a smoky desert when they arrived to settle) and it also looks like a throwback to the alternate "Victory Gold" kit from the first CCL run. All that said, I would give it a B-/C+ because there are other kits that do look more interesting.
Graded the wrong houston kit, anyways looks like minecraft lava. B, decent
Minnesota United's kit genuinely makes me feel like I'm doing the fourth mission for Dax in GTA Online. Basically, drugs. Same can be said for Austin.
I think the grading on the Charlotte FC kit was a bit harsh. It just takes some getting used to as Purple does go pretty well, reminds me of that Argentina Away kit, and the crowns around the jersey are very nice, it does look like a pop tart but pop tarts are goated anyway.
I know right! I think Maxwell took the L on CLTFC away kit and yeah the pop tart similarity makes it better tbh

I’m from NYC but lived in Atlanta for a bit. Both released solid shirts. City did well with the subway tile look.
The Philadelphia away kit is impeccable
The flames patterns on FC Dallas away kit reminds me of a loading page of an old-school video game (Mario Kart, Smash Bros, etc). Very gimmicky in my opinion. Cool story behind it, but could be done so much better
I feel like Toronto FC using a blue design or a maple leaf would be too close to the hockey team. Especially if they use both at the same time.
Montreal and Vancouver’s kits also feature blue, so I agree.

Last weekend I was at a cabin in Northern MN. During sunset looking west over the lake and saw the same colors in the sunset that are in the Loons "Northern Lights" kit. It doesn't look anything like the actual Auroa Borealis though.
Charlotte's kit reminds me a lot of Alex Bowman's car in NASCAR, especially because of ALLY, I actually don't mind it

As a Crew fan- when they changed the logo awhile ago I was upset, but I’d also hoped they’d step more out of bounds with this shirt so now I’m just sorta neutral on it all lol
I also think it’s worth noting that the Wizards and Nationals have cherry blossom themed alternates, just makes for a cool city cohesion
Charlotte's CJ kit is so close to being perfection. The blue just needs to be black. The rest of it works really well and they were one choice away from something amazing.

im a Sounders fan and the one part about the Bruce Lee kit that kinda puts me off is the back is just all black. its kinda random and woulda been better if the base red or the slightly darker red just continued on to the back (i know that designs arent allowed on the back in MLS). it is for that reason that i think Portland has the best kit this season, also Portland's kit is their home/1st strip while Seattle's is their 2nd strip (given how often they wore the Jimi kit we will still see this quite often tho)
The galaxy one is actually representing the Los Angeles city flag and city crest colors

Long time Seattle Sounders fan here, so I think I know a little bit about the Caps. The thing about the whitecaps kit is that the simple look with the one stripe is kinda their 'thing'. like, thats their kit and I give them props for consistency. Its like talking s#!+ about Atletico Madrid for wearing aNoTheR rEd aNd wHiTe sTrIpE jersey. Thats their thing, its what they do. It isn't particularly creative, but that is their kit, and for a North American team with the long history they have, for them to keep the same general look, I support that. They aren't ever gonna win another Cascadia Cup tho...

I disagree with how he rated vancouver's kit. It makes direct reference to the various iterations of the whitecaps over their history. From the original whitecaps to the 86ers that were red and then the return to the whitecaps. The kit itself looks quite good on the pitch and represents the history of the club well.
Exactly. I think it's actually a very stylish and well-composed design. It's deeply meaningful without relying on any loud and obnoxious gimmicks, unlike some of the other kits featured in this video.
Ok. The one thing the whitecaps did right is using the Bloodlines in the home jersey. I'd suggest if you have a second to go read about that kit on their Instagram.

I would argue the FC Porto Kappa dragon kit (1997) would be the best 'original' dragon kit that was outside the box thinking for its time...with the NEW 2023 FC Porto special edition dragon kit as the best of the best 'dragons'
