What you did not mention is the area is a major shopping hub (perimeter mall area) and also a major employment center with a number of Fortune 500 companies in the area(hence the high prices). The area also has three subway stations with access to Buckhead, Midtown, Downtown, and the airport.

Recently moved here (Sandy Springs) north of Dunwoody and I'm thrilled to live in such a beautiful, clean and friendly place.
How do you like living in sandy springs? Looking to move there in it’s my 2 kids, but can’t choose between Alpharetta or Sandy Springs.
@lex_themompreneur Alpharetta is more expensive and nicer, SandySprings is affordable they call it the golden ghetto 😅
