  • This is a stretch fit belt that "can" require a special tool to put the belt on.
In this video I will show you how to put it on an only using 2 vice grips, ratchet an 18mm socket an extension if you want. Shouldnt take more then 5 minutes. If this helped hit the like button. Any question comment an il see if I can help walk you through it.
If you want more like this let me know in the comments

Great video buddy, I was about to set my fiance's fiesta on fire and the vise grips did the trick

Ty I was stuck on the side of the road with my boss next to me helping me, and the vice grip trick worked wonders

Going to get some clamps asap and pray this works. Tried the Lisle tool no luck. Tried putting the belt in a jar of boiling water to loosen it. It's not even close nor is this belt "elastic" or stretchy whatsoever. Someone mentioned loosening the top pulley which I believe is for the alternator.

Ya as far as i know these aren't the stretch fit. This by far the quickest method an can be done within or less the 5 minutes

Not a mechanic but handy enough to do most of my own maintenance. Daughter threw a belt on her '14 Fiesta. Fought with the belt for an hour. Called experienced techs, watched 5 or 6 vids before yours. BUT you had the most practical advice hands down. I think I made one improvement to your method. Instead of a $13 pair of 5" vice grips I used a pair of $2 1" C-clamps. One to hold the belt on the flywheel the other for the smooth pulley (which I didn't need). It took longer to get the wheel back on the car than to use your method for the belt!
