Excellent server and video. Fwiw, unless I'm missing a meaning of the word "coop", I believe their intent is for it to be pronounced "co-op", i.e. short for "cooperative", although I'm happy to be corrected if I'm wrong.
Or maybe they meant Coup? Who knows 😅

they mean coop as in chicken coop, not co-op as in cooperative (it is a PVP server, not PVE and their name implies the latter and confuses a lot of people)

wie schon im " What you can expect flying Cold War scenarios" video funk ist again zu laut.
in dem "The (most) Deadly Combo" video sound war wesentlich besser abgestimmt fast schon perfekt nr2 war weder zu laut noch zu leisen und 3war bisschen drüber hatte aber auch das schlechtere mic (zumindest recht viel hall drauf) hat man deutlich rausgehört ABER noch im rahmen.
hier ist der andere mitflieger wieder 11-22% drüber :/ (das rauschen ist halt heftig, keine ahnung ob das wegen der "immersion" so sein muss?)

Unfortunately not :). I don’t want to show the RTB. We do fly there quite often atm so there is always some stories to be told. 😊. Glad you enjoy.
@@helldivermando you definitely put COOP on my radar. I think the lives system is pretty cool and just generous enough to make you feel like you need to exercise caution without making you too scared to do stuff.

Thanks mate for the feedback! I would love to share but I don’t use reshade or native filters from ED but color grade in post. But after your feedback, I’ll try to be on point next time as well.
Great video. Question : at 31:30 I can hear some sort of "double click" and a spoken command [Threat (unintelligible)]. I'm guessing you're using Voiceattack or something, but where do the "clicks" come from ?
And question number 2 : you seem to be able to fire your missiles without "putting the circle over the circle" in the HUD. I always have to work the rudders to line them up before I can shoot. How does that work ?
Hello and welcome to the channel. Yes its a voice command you are referring to. Im saying "Threat group". This is the command to lase and save a AAA or SAM on the Abris/PVI800. When pressing the voice command button on my cyclic it generates this sound - like im recording the voice. Concerning your 2nd question: Switch from the Semi/auto targeting mode to manual. There is a switch on your weapons panel the PU800. Once the switch is up on manual the letter "C" will indicate that you dont need launch authority as in the auto mode. This way you can fire missles without putting the reticle over the target.
@@helldivermando For further clarification, do you have VoiceAttack setup with pre-recorded voice commands and then bind those voice commands to a physical button?
Have not flown multi for a long time. But i think i need to get back again, since i love helos.

@@helldivermando Thanks! And oh yeah, i recently tried to learn the Hornet for a new experience, but i got back to helos quickly. Fixed wing are not for me (aside the A-10A and Su-25A maybe) Prefer the Mi-24 but started to re-learn the Ka-50 recently. Anyway, once i get the hang of it again, i will check out this new server. Helos are just way more fun for me, and im a rotorhead at heart.

@@helldivermando Thanks! You too :) Yeah i tend to jump between helicopters, but my most flown ones are Mi-24P and Huey. I hop in on occasion into the Mi-8, or Ka-50. But the Shark... its always weird to get a hang of the autopilot system after a long break. Also the workload on that thing can be heavy. No Petro to spot targets, and the Hind with Petro is actually also great for Night Ops, the Shark... not so much. I got the Apache, flew it but... i dont know, i dont feel that helo. Also if you do not fly it on a regular basis, the skill of flying it is highly perishable, just like Hornet carrier landings. And i can get into the hind after having a 2 week break, and i still remember more or less what to do. But i still think i use like 30% of the hinds potential. Im lazy and use the F10 map to navigate, have no idea how radios work and use the autostart and auto shutdown functions.

How does EWR work here? Are helis just jet bait or do you actually have any actual chance to evade and avoid attention?
Helos are more on the lower end of the food chain but if flying in a coordinated team they can be deadly. Wait for the upcoming video and judge for yourself. 😎 edit: EWR calls out all contacts atm as far as I can tell. This might be changed in the future by the owner of the server though.
Your head tracking looks super smooth - what do you use?
It’s track IR. Switched from tobii to it and it’s the way to go I would say.
you should try the contention server!! it has all of that plus pvp.
Hello solid! You mean more PvP? COOP is pretty intense when it comes to PvP. So much so, that it’s rough if there is no cap. What are your thoughts on contention generally?

do you fly with gear down for a reason? is it incase you need to drop fast?
Yes - below 150kph we have the gear extended. Pretty useful when doing hover tactics.

Why your terrain textures looks great? Are they vanilla textures?
Its the Caucasus revised mod. This alters some textures and I highly recommend it, since caucasus is the oldes DCS map.

Why does your teammate keep saying two copies?
His teammate is number two in the flight and he understood the message...
As the reply above, the second member of the flight -2 is saying he has understood what’s being transmitted. You will often find the reply shortened to just “Two” which is understood to mean “I’ve heard you and I understand”. If you have a third and fourth flight member you’d also hear “Three” and “Four” as responses. Hope that helps

This server could be great - but the lives system is the most counter-intuitive anti-high population mechanic.
But hey the purists gotta pure
As a method of discouraging air quake, I personally think that it’s quite a good way of doing things. Does it lead to other problems, perhaps! People also like what they like right so I can see how folks might not enjoy it, but for team play helo gameplay it’s a really great start for a new server 😊
@@ReaverPryde yep, people will like what they like, even if the server shines with the most population and highest player count.
it's odd, but I agree with the helo stuff! this server and Contention are pretty darn great tbh.
I’ll agree with ReaverPryde. The server has just recently launched and is still in beta I think. Important is, that we as players have to let the host and developer of this server play out his vision. There are changes coming for sure and our squadrons hope is, that it will not evolve into a mission focused server that puts the team effort into focus.
In my opinion it stops the server becoming an airquake GS 2.0.
I have been enjoying the Contention server, but am losing interest and playing more here as I’m tired of people just suicide charging for a kill. I have been watching the score board and it’s basically all 1:1 KD, eg 6k:5d, 7k:7d, 4k:5d which proves the play style people are adopting. I have even watch several videos by Venom and Trickr where they outright say “going to kill this SAM, will probably die but it will be worth it” and “I have no missiles so I’m going to ram him”. Anyone can do that and it really cheapens one’s efforts to fly well.
Lack of consequences for dying is the biggest neg for Contention server.

A good solution was to let you farm points to buy m ore lives.
I suggested this to the Coop devs and it was met with a resounding no, and frankly I think the best reward for flying well and gaining points is encouraging you to continue flying well by letting you buy more lives.
This way you quickly lose your lives if you don't take it seriously.
And it balances having a higher population vs limiting the number of people online at all times because of "lives"
Also, let's be real for a moment, this is a game. Restricting lives is anti-game mechanics; and not a good solution at all.

It’s pronounce “coop”, as it’s called “The Coop”, as in chicken coop.

... the server has a chicken theme as the owner is called Kipper. The Discord is Operation Fowl Intent... with channels called "Mother cluckin features" and so on.
Not everyone tries to correct people with no idea what they are talking about.
