Thanks so much for the tips! I've been using glass piano from Labs, but I wanted something brighter. 👍
My pleasure 👍🏻
Thanks very much Richard!
My pleasure
You're right, the "Memoir" piano is the star of the show.
Still shocked that’s it’s free
Cool. I love the Winter Felt particularly. Where you got it from?
It's still available in Christian's channel - czcams.com/video/u2DTXh_3sYY/video.html&ab_channel=TheCrowHillCompany
@@richardpryn thanks mate!
BIG Thanks for showing us this! Oliver Codd (AudioOllie) have another GREAT FREEbie too, the "FREE RCD Guitars MUTE", it sounds very good.
Ooh thanks I've gotta check that out 😌
Everything i try to download the logo is that white sheet of paper and they're NKC and NKR files that my pc doesn't seem to recognize. Maybe there's an obvious answer to what you have to install in advance or another solution but i'm pretty new to this. What should i do to make these files work? Thanks!
You do need full version of Kontakt to use a lot of these I’m afraid 😳
please do you have the wav files for the triple felt piano by christian. i dnt have kontakt and cant find it in his video either
Scroll down in the comments, Christian leaves a dropbox link there and a few people have made their own versions of it 🤘🏼
@@richardpryn i've checked and theres nothing in the comments, no dropbox no nothing
Ok - I have a link to the files in my article for this video@@afrosymphony8207 - richardpryn.com/the-11-best-free-piano-vst-plugins-that-actually-sound-good/
@@richardpryn omg thank!!
I'm trying to find a VST Keyboard that I can set to use Just Intonation, or at least something closer to perfect tuning
Pianoteq can do that from what I remember
On Arturia's Wurlitzer vst you can open it up and tune each key as well as turn up or down the key noise. Granted it's an electric piano but I love using it because it has some awesome sounds.
I'm pretty much a beginner, so you know how to address my questions. Could you talk about the Fazioli VSTs somewhat? How do you rate them compared to the say, Bosendorfer or other German piano samples? Also, do these VSTs require a player app to be installed? Thanks!
Hey wand welcome 🤗 I have not tried the Faziola VSTs but I have heard good things about them. All of these samples do require the Kontakt player yes 👍🏻
I find your selection wonderful, but I don't seem to be able to download any of them.
Oh that’s weird 🧐 are you going to the links in my post? richardpryn.com/the-11-best-free-piano-vst-plugins-that-actually-sound-good/
"kinda like you wanna play with...a hot chocolate" = insta sub
🤣
appreciate your work mate , but advertising memoir as free , isn’t really on , as you need a very expensive sampler to run it .
Fair point and duly noted - 🤓 you do however, also need a computer and DAW to run even "free" vsts - so I went with the fact that the samples are themselves free but I do see the conundrum and it has often caused friction with Kontakt instruments 😩
🥶🥶
When reviewing piano VSTs, you absolutely NEED to show a phase correlation meter on a dry signal. As solo instruments, most (if not all) of these plugins are unusable in a proper commercial mix.
Thanks for your feedback; I have never used a phase correlation meter but will look into it's usefulness for me 👍🏻 Regarding your second point, I have personally used some of these on commercial projects that have landed on movie trailers so I disagree with that point
@@richardpryn When I said commercial mix, I wasn't referring to movie soundtracks but rather radio and broadcast etc. Phase correlation is absolutely critical in these circumstances since mixes can end up sounding bad when correlation is closer to 0 than 1, or worse, disappear entirely if correlation is below 0. Phase correlation is less important in movies since they are usually consumed in properly treated venues, headphones, or 5.1 systems. For piano sample librarys specifically, improper mic techniques usually make the samples sound like dog barks in mono.
Fair enough 👍🏻@@GackFinder
