I've got another trick for you, arcane secondary fortifier on your secondary, gives you 15k overguard when you hit targets that have overguard like eximus, in combo with dark dagger that's over shields and overguard on any frame. Happy days.
This strat works well with jade as her shield regen + arcane aegis makes you pretty tanky by just dealing damage and if you have any augur mods you can bypass the fact you can't gain the shields if you are currently gating by giving yourself some shield to jumpstart it back up.
why arcane aegis and additional shield regen?

I too forgot about this special ability on the rakta dark dagger - years ago. But I got reminded recently by a couple of other youtubers. Arcane Influence is helpful, but the thing that makes the special ability truly falling-off-a-log reliable and effortless, for me at least, are the (relatively) new pet mods that turn hounds into insanely effective primers. With the right robo hound build and a rad/cold build on their melee weapon there will be tons of radiation procs everywhere even without procing melee influence and radiation on the dagger. The hound is insanley good for crowd control with radiation and cold. Sometimes TOO good - I found it problematic doing solo netracells and had to get rid of the cold procs because of all the mobs that were getting stacked up like frozen cordwood just outside the red circles, literally blocking everything from entering the room. 🤣
interesting, and there i was yesterday thinking hounds don't compare as primers to sentinels/ verglas.

Or just use fast deflection, vigilante vigor and an optional arcane aegis rank 0 and you are invincible, as long as you don't just stand there and get downed by a heavy gunner ^^
This dagger works great with voruna and melee duplicate
My favourit way to mod for survivability is through my companion 100 percent shield recharge abillity and precept cool down mod works great with any frame that can spread status effects
I use this on Saryn sith shock trooper, and saryns augment, so I get + electricity + viral, + corrosive status from abilities. Then gas on the dagger, as the clouds proc the armor strip

I use dark dagger a long time ,with saryn ,volt or citrine it is really nice too
Hey are you aware of the "Overguard tanking" tech ? With as little damage as possible and some proc of poison on an eximus unite, using the new overguard arcane for secondary you can regenerate overguard over time. The amont being very small it'll get destroy in no time but you get a frame of invincibility and then it go automaticly back up, you get the point.
Yea I've tested it out a bit, seems solid! I've not made a build around it yet, there were so many changes I'm just trying to get through it all xD
If you like the rakta can a suggest you give a full status version a chance with the new blast updates and the elementalist mods. Blast's chaining with melee influence is pretty good and a lot of fun.
Blast is good in some scenarios but gas is better when paired with argonak, depends on enemy density

Nah it's viable :) for example I don't really use prime sure footed ever, and i've used this to cheese many a mission on many different warframes with this, stuff like fire eximus could mess up someone less experienced sure, but once you get use to rolling stuff like that a lot of the need for psf goes away in my honest opinion, but either or works, I just like being use to the games cc and how to paly around it :)
I also don’t have PSF but I like to use Titania helmeth ability to get that sweet sweet status immunity, so there is that route you can go too. Imma try this build on my speedVa since I somehow still die with adaptation + secondary fortifier + her 1 augment on sp defense missions, idk how maybe skill issue
If you feel like you'd need knockdown mitigation, handspring is a pretty good substitute. It's no psf, but it is still very good if you don't want to worry about knockdowns.

I still use the rakea dark dagger, mainly with saryn got whole build dedicated to it 😂
Side note: it still top tier slept on.

The reason I prefer the ability shield gate (I use mag but brief respite should work too) Is that 1 handed abilities such as pull or magnetize let me keep doing my damage, I will agree with you that this is VERY good when you're in a pinch
You probably should try this at least once because it is way, way better than Brief Respite and the augur mods - combined. When done right, as long as you are killing things with the melee, it is not just "repairing" your shields - its like your 2000 points of overshields are literally pinned to the max value %98 of the time. The amount of shields you get with each swing is proportional to the DAMAGE done, and especially if your melee counter is wound up it simply repairs ALL your shields and overshields every time you take a swipe - no cooldown - so at least a few times a second! So it works as fast for shield gating, and also works way better for bulk shield restoration. Plenty of time to spare to go back to using your WF abilities. You have to make sure you are spreading generous radiation procs, but these days that is pretty easy, with multiple and overlapping means to do so.
My raktar dagger doesn't have an arcane slot. Why is that?

If I still have to click the ability every time I got hit by an enemy (on high enough level) to gain some shields, I dont see any meaningful difference between rakta and just normal shieldgating other than I am bound to use very midiocre melee weapon. This is why I personaly dont like it, but surely can be fun for someone
I mean if you are doing stuff like level cap you are using iFrames and shield gating yea, but for normal steel path stuff, this is a great way to switch off the brain on survivability :)
tbf at mr12 you could probably also just run a regular shieldgate setup D: or ofc healthtank
my biggest problem was getting rare items, e.g. good arcanes

Nah you are good, I just been seeing a few of the big youtubers bringing it up out of the woodwork again. I just want it to stay the way it is and not nerfed DE hates fun and honestly Rakta is the only way I can genuinely enjoy squishy frames like Saryn and Ember.

yea its not for everyone, but it is for some, thats the entirety of warframe in a nutshell
@@morning8590 Exactly. Although the rakta can be built to do modretly decent damage, the point is that thats NOT ever its job in this context. It tops off you shields and overshelds almost with every swipe, all while stripping armor. With melee influence and some other recent inovations, on the right frame its just S-tier awesome - perfect at what is supposed to do. After so many years of playing this game I kind of live for rediscovering stuff like this in the context of recent changes.

I have to concur, I have no idea what you are talking about from what you wrote above. BTW, he explains within the first few seconds of the video that he is talking about the long forgotten special ability of the rakta dark dagger - generating shields every time you damage something that has a rad proc on it. But that doesnt fit in the title of the video.
