I love how you invented personalities for your characters focusing in their decisions towards the vanilla game. And it's amazing how much effort you have put to play this game with fully faction-customized characters four times!
IMO that's the only propper way to play a RPG like this. It's not always optimal in min-maxing but it's really fun to make rules and restrictions to yourself. Many players who complain about games like Fallout or Skyrim being too easy lack the imagination needed to actually roleplay and thwy simply always just min-max everything becoming op.

4:27 - I made the same mistake with my first Minutemen play through. There's a part in the Railroad/Institute story line when Shaun instructs you to wipe out the Railroad. If you have no allegiance to the Minutemen, then you can inform Desdemona, and everything "just works". But, if you're allied to the Minutemen, Desdemona will refuse to talk to you, until you "work with the Railroad." In doing so, you end the Minutemen story line and start the Railroad story line. From that point on, Preston will only ever give you radiant Settlement related quests. There's no warning or pop-up, informing you that you're about to end one of the main stories. It "just happens". A really disappointing oversight on the behalf of Bethesda.

Was in a party talking to friends tuning out to Spotify grinding away the story without going regular saves. I AIMED to do all the faction stories (aside the institute of course) as far as I could possible before I CHOSE the Railroad. Cuz I thought they were cool.
Then what to me felt like out of nowhere during the Brotherhood quest line due to my dumb ass skipping dialogue, I get-

@@vinnisvidya I don't think you realise that he stated that he stated he doesn't want to cheat or obtain anything he couldn't have otherwise, and hes playing a stealth sniper, so he doesn't want clunky power armour, so he basically gets one of the coolest things out of power armour with just science 3 and armourer 3 (I think) instead of the science 4 for power armour, plus all the drawbacks with the "Stealth" part.
But i don't care, i use the mod myself, its sick, use it, its addicting, you'll use it for every god damned character. Hell i think for my next BOS Paladin build i'll use it to for when i exit the power, along with Nieros "CROSS Pre-War Cybernetics" Which you could also classify cheating because it doesn't use a fusion core, but it has less protection... But yeah its still cheating... I look badass though!

My favorite character is Ox, then Maybell. The thing about Ox, he also makes the best videos on a certain website, called U-Tube. I tune into him while I'm on the Prydwen pretty much everyday. ;)

When I watched this vid, I decided to make a backstory for my only char atm, I'm gonna do another playthrough of it soon, just stuck up on another game, and here it is! Cpt. Tex Williams, past captain of the US Navy and, a hard-working family man, he cared for his wife and son deeply, but when the bombs dropped, he knew, nothing was going to be the same... when he first entered the "Decontamination pod" he thought "A new Life.", he was true, but not in the way he wanted, when he first woke from his cryogenic slumber and saw his wife, he thought everything was going to be fine, yet when he saw the man and the mysterious person in the suit, he felt his heart drop, he started banging on the glass and then, his wife's pod open, but came to see his son taken, and his wife shot, he then looked at the man who shot his wife, and knew, if he ever got out of there, that he would kill that man, and show him what it felt like to get his heart ripped out, he would go through anything to kill that man, then, he fell asleep, not knowing what would happen to him, he then woke again, this time his pod opening, rushing to his wife he saw, she was dead, he said he would find who did this,He then went through the vault, finding a Pip-Boy 3000 Mark IV, he then opened the vault door, then he found The Minutemen, now, all he had was his ways of being a soldier, not being able to remember what it's like to be an actual person, he didn't agree with the Minutemen, so he went on to try and find a more soldier-like group, that's when he ran across Cambridge Police Station, and helped them, seeing how solider-like they looked and thought he had discovered something, and he was right, he then followed the BOS, thinking he had found a home for him, something he could stick with, but, then, he discovered the Prydwen, and he liked the orders, and the military style, and started to bond with Paladin Danse, he looked up to him, and they became friends over time, and Danse opened up to him, not seeming like a robot, and the sole survivor opened up to him too and got more comfortable around him, and softened up a bit, ut then, he heard the news about Danse, that made his heart sink, he then had a hard decision, he had to choose between Danse, or The Brotherhood, he realized, he would have nothing except Danse if he would not follow orders, he arrived at the place where Danse was hiding, and shot him, he then fell into deep depression, not knowing if he would find anybody like Danse that could be as close, but, he had already killed him, He took his hood to remember him by, and wore it, he would have gone back to that empty feeling, he then, found diamond city, taking a break from the brotherhood, then found piper, he lied for her so she and him could get in, and found to take a liking to her, he then visited the Publick Occurances HQ, he did the interview with piper and got a liking to her, but he had already fell down the hole of finding a friend and losing them, right when they got comfortable, so he stayed where he was for awhile but a couple months after they had traveled, he found a sense of something that made him feel better around her, and opened up again, telling her about his life, and losing Danse, his best friend, and they started to become friends sort of, and he started feeling better about himself, he started liking her, more and more each day, he then, was told about another group called "The Railroad" he is then tasked to exterminate them, which he follows through with then, he gets to travel to The Institute, going with the BOS permission, he downloaded the files, moving deeper, he finds his "son" he then realizes, it's a synth, after the real Shaun shuts him off, he then has to realize, which one of them should he choose? He chooses the BOS, he realizes he doesn't know how to live any other way anymore, he destroys the institute, and feels so much regret, yet, he had to choose the BOS, he had no choice really, he then, lives with the BOS forever, soon after Elder Maxon's death, he takes over, since he's a paladin, he leads them all over America, trying to rebuild it back to the same it was...

I've always been a fond creator of backstories for my Fallout characters. My primary character (David Wates) goes off of that theory that the Sole Survivor actually died in Vault 111 and that Father had a Synthetic duplicate (D4-36) put in his place. He joined the Brotherhood and helped them to defeat to resurrect Liberty Prime and defeat the Institute. He spared Paladin Danse during the Blind Betrayal Incident in exchange for the respect he'd gained from his superiors. The reason why he was not exposed along with Danse, (In my own little sub-lore) is because he was constructed under the direct orders of Father...it was 'Off the Record' as it were between him and Dr. Binet in the Robotics Divsion at the Insititute, so no records of his existence were ever kept in the Institute Mainframes.
He is very zealous in the beliefs the brotherhood taught him. So he chose to leave Synth Shaun behind at the end of the ''Nuclear Option' mission. Claiming that his 'Son was already dead'.
During the events of Far Harbor, he chose to anhilate the colony of Acadia, to the detrimental effect on his 'friendship' with Nick Valentine who later refused to travel with him any longer. During Nuka World he erradicated the Raider Factions, and all of the civillians and citizens that worked with them. This caused Piper to loose faith in him, the two ended up exchanging rounds...Piper didn't survive that conflict.
David is a broken, and cold man by the end of the playthrough, his only true friends are his Power Armour, his Gatling Laser and Danse...(the one person he trusts and can fully rely on). I haven't played any further than that, but I know for a fact he is going to kill the Mechanist, despite their origins (I won't spoil it for you). He's not going to participate in Vault 88s storyline as he despises Vault-Tec for everything they have done to others aswell as himself (Memories implanted by the Institute).
He lives aboard the Prydwen, and occassionally at his own personal home in Sanctuary. He is not welcoming of outside influences and personally dislikes the minutemen for attempting to 'undermine the Brotherhood's hard work'.
I hope that makes sense...he's a jerk...but all because of his synthetic origins and the memories given to him by the Institute after his creation.
(Yeah I am aware the Sole Survivor Synth theory is a little far fetched, but I like it...and he's my chacter so...yeah...that's that)

Ox, you put a lot time and effort into your character builds and that shows; I think it's one of the things that makes your Lore videos interesting. Hailee's room was interesting and at first I was wonder why she had a picture of Biddy Mason (an associate of Pio Pico and Dr. Chee Long Tong in 1870's Los Angeles, you might call them some of LA's founding parents after California became a state) and then realize that it was Harriet Tubman, which made more sense for the East Coast and a Railroad character. Nice touch, huzzah!

"Pull a Deacon" Best sentence Ive ever heard from you Ox
My favourite character I ever had was my Child of Atom character, who I originally started off as an evil character and he eventually discovered Atom in the Nucleus and followed the word of High Confessor Tektus. Atom was a vent for him to express his hatred and anger for the death of his wife and the ruin of his world. Eventually though after some time, I began travelling with Longfellow for a bit, helped out some people, and he slowly became a good guy, who eventually hesitated at the thought of destroying Far Harbour and ousted Tektus to guide the Children down the good path, and bringing peace to the Island. He still follows Atom's holy word, and preaches the Atom, but he only wishes to paint Atom in a benevolent light, and guide others towards salvation. He is my favourite character because even though Fallout 4 is a bit rough around the edges I was able to resonate with the character and have him develop overtime. I like to think that he atoned for his sins he commited early on.
On my oldest character, Nolan, I am lvl 72. I had the same ammunition problem you did. He’s a well rounded build, pretty much able to use any kind of weapon and receive its perk benefits. I was carrying overseers guardian, spray and pray, and the timer Tom special on me all at once. I solved my shared ammo problem by converting the guardians receiver to a .308 one, and the tinker Tom special receiver to a 50 cal.
All of my characters in all of my Bethesda games end up almost the exact same: Big beard, long hair, good guy hoarder with kleptomania and a tendency sneak and murder anyone that I don't like. (Example: Thalmor in Skyrim, or a guard trying to extort money from me because I "littered")

You're not a really a good guy if you sneak around thieving and murdering though. More like a "Chaotic Neutral"-character that might just as well save a village as steal everything of value within according to however they felt like at that moment.
I’m almost the opposite In character creation. I’ll spend and hour or more fine tuning my look (that I’m never happy with) then 30-40 minuets on a name. After all that I play entirely in first person and often never see my name again. Play style on the other hand often devolves in to the same tank.
I struck righteous justice upon the thalmor striped them of every thing drug their corpse into the middle of the castle and set them on fire with magic i reloaded my save and did it again. I think i did that 12 times

I love Big Boy!!! One of my favorite tactics in any new area is to jet pack to the highest perch I can find and just blast the ghouls, raiders, gunners, mutants or whatever into oblivion! This makes street sweeping with an assault rifle or combat shotgun so much easier as the majority of enemies are already dead. In fact, I recently took a side bounty mission to kill a mutant leader during Thuggy Smurf's Outcasts and Remnants mod. I stood about a hundred yards from the entrance of the objective destination and popped off 6 mini nukes with 3 shots from Big Boy. Before the last two fell, the screen alerted me that my objective was completed. So, we just sodded off to the next objective.
One mod i always recommend for power armor user is power armor air drop its a really underrated mod that lets you call down power armor in several ways. My favorite is the minuteman way use the flair gun and hearing the cannon go off and seeing the power armor red hot is awesome

OK, the yeet animation is in the vanilla game but only happens when you're in combat and to either genders
He has a mod installed to make it the default power armour enter animation, and because 90% of his characters are fem, you're mostly only seeing female characters do it

My first FO4 character was pretty much a faithful representation of my uncle Jim. Drinking, foul mouthed, quick to draw a gun, good guy US Marine with anger management issues. A legendary deathclaw I killed on the way to meet Virgil dropped an legendary explosive combat shotgun, and that became his gun.
And Ox - for your stealth melee character, you should look into a ripper. The end-all would be a staggering or wounding ripper.

Ox and fans, If you are looking for more/better automatic weapons I highly recommend Heckler und Koch - G36 Complex and/or Heckler und Koch - MP7 by FX0x01. The G36 is harder to come by but uses 5.56mm which is quite common. The MP7 is a compact SMG that uses custom 4.6X30mm ammo that is added to leveled lists to drop on high level enemies and many vendors. In addition, 8 lead and 3 steel combine to create 20 rounds of ammo for the MP7. The G36 can upgrade to 100 round drum (These are for real, I looked into one for an M1A and an AR platform rifle but they are $150 each. M1A 20 round mags are about $20 and AR 30 round mags about $15 each) whereas the smaller MP7 holds only 40 rounds. Both are a force to be reckoned with and are welcome mainstays in my game. The MP7's are so easy and cheap to create they add extra income to my chem trading. The G36 has become my main go to gun. Both are well textured and exceptionally animated. Two must try mods for every F4 gamer.
He said evil character and I don’t know why I was expecting an actual evil character lol, I have one character for each faction (BoS, Rail Road, Minute Men etc) and then I made one just for the raiders of Nuka World and she is by all means an evil character.
I wanted to fully submerge myself into a raider life style as much as I could so I did it, and she is honestly my favorite play through. I like running about doing whatever I want without a care in the world as to the out come of my actions, she joined the BoS only to finish the main quest and get cool weapons, other than that she stayed away from all the factions that weren’t the raiders. The two groups she saved where the pack and the disciples because the dangerous ruthless vibes match her aesthetic and perks, and her follower is either Dogmeat or a robot she made because she doesn’t have to worry about what she does with them.
And to me that is what I think of when someone says an evil character lol sorry for such a long comment

I made a Negan from TWD build like this with the raiders. I Had Lucille and everything. Had to use the handmade rifle and Deliverer as backups though, the barbed wire baseball bat isn't that good unfortunately. I went with the Operators as the Saviors and the pack as the Wolves. Also, why didn't you just go with Gage instead of dogmeat or a robot?

my character doesn't truly have a name. He Joined early on with the Brotherhood, He Helps them.
He enters The Institute and Meets Shaun, He Couldn't believe it and Got aggressive. He Leaves and Gets angry with himself with his realization, Shaun Was taken Earlier than he expected.

He Visits Nuka world and Kills off the pack, viewing them as "Useless Low-life Slavers".
He Takes over Vault 88. And Uses Many settlements as Brotherhood Bases and outposts, Including Kingsport Lighthouse.
He has gotten back from depression, And is exploring more And getting into robotics for the Brotherhood, Building many support robots from scrap. He Follows under Danse's footsteps and Makes Cait an initiate. She Ranks up to knight and Gets a set of power armour. He however plans to Bring something back after The pain of Loosing Shaun.
He Doesn't have much of a build. More or less a jack of all trades. He doesn't have an Interest in heavy weapons though Only uses them when it's absolutely necessary. His main weapons are a Sentinel's Plasma rifle, An Institute Automatic Laser rifle (it just was to good to get rid of, rips through most enemies like Butter), A Custom made Laser musket called "The Handyman's" A two shot Multi crank Laser musket, the Problem solver and An explosive Marksmen Rifle.
His main power armour is Mostly Just T-60 Sentinel power armour with the honor and a legendary leg piece. He wears a variety of other Clothes, Including a Beanie and Battle coat, During the winter. and wears the Main Brotherhood Outfits.

I have two characters. The first is my character who I named after myself, which I regret. She's a lot like Sweets, she loved pre-war and was broken after being thrown 200 years into the future. And I ended up siding with the Railroad because I didn't know how to side with the Minutemen either. I built up settlements with her, did every ending with different versions of her, and also did every quest. She ended up with MacCready in their house sitting in Vault 88 after 2000+ hours.
My other character is called Mr.Badass and I played him for about 15 hours.
Yeah first time i played I kinda just made myself becuase i was a noob and didnt have any ideas. I just do whatever i feel like would be the best choice.

I've done numerous playthroughs, but as far as what I consider to "main guys" (the ones I've invested the most time into and occasionally go back to), they are:
Adam: Based around Fudgemuppet's "Crusader" build. He's hardcore BoS and CoA; no nonsense, no compromise, take no prisoners. Tamed the raiders of Nuka World for his own ends, and took out the Railroad, the Institute, Far Harbor and Arcadia.
Leonard: A variation of Fudgemuppet's "Rocketeer" build, I swapped out the Nuka gear for the loot from the Captain Cosmos creation. He's above all an explorer; inspired by the final manned mission to the moon as well as the Captain Cosmos show from his youth, he ventured across the Commonwealth and beyond to understand this new world. While he initially joined the Brotherhood, their harsh treatment of Danse convinced him to back the Minutemen in his struggle against the Institute.
Diana: An Enclave agent (using Fudge's "Enclave Soldier" build). A hardass that tore the Commonwealth apart looking for her child. Ultimately used the Railroad to get in touch with the Institute, and didn't hesitate to betray them when the time came. Took over Nuka World, and sold out Arcadia.
One thing I admire about you Oxhorn is your dedication to sticking to ore friendly mods. I do try....I really do try to stick to this mentality but I do end up succumbing to gadgets. Having said this, for my F3 or FNV games I've used stunguns and Tranqulizer weapons, Vertibirds and Motorbikes.Also mods out there that alow you to build and fix up robots or make almost anyone a companion. Its when i go into Superhero mods or the Fallout Who mods, the Doctor Who themed mod thats where the balance gets tipped to far. However damn if it isnt fun XD

I made three characters.
My first character was Charlie, he was the minuteman general who loves to help anybody who was kind to him. He was a loving father until the institute took it away from him, and now he wants to help anybody who can get him back to his son. I didn't change his look, I thought the original face was fine, his personality was being sarcastic but in a kind way.
The second one is Ashley, she is more with the institute. After she tried to find who took her son, she eventually joined the institute to be with her son. She was also misunderstood by the institute, but she still treats everyone with respect. I made her look like a happy camper and her personality was to help anybody with anything.
Then I made Jason, he's more of the evil type. He hated his life as a parent, he didn't care for his child, he hated his wife, and his neighbors were the worst. He wanted to just kill them all, but the nukes did it for him. He then joined the Brotherhood of Steel. He thinks why save people if you can just kill them, he eventually overthrows Elder Maxson and becomes the new Elder of the Brotherhood of Steel. He then turns his back on Paladin Danse and single handedly kill him. The Brotherhood soldiers was too afraid to stand up to him, that's only because he killed SO many people. Later the Brotherhood of Steel is the new dictatorship by far. Raiders call him overboss, settlers call him a cold blooded killer, his soldiers call him a snake, but all we now is that he's the worlds greatest enemy to civilization. I made him look like he's sneering with squinting eyes, his personality is mostly of killing innocent people because they didn't do what he say. He would also kill his own soldiers without hesitation, because they're just numbers to him anyway.
I only do one loooomg play through doing everything cause I don’t like doing everything again like quests or exploring the same places, and if I need to go back and do something to make a different choice I just save before a big decision and re do it if I don’t like it

My view of Oxhorn being a character in a future Fallout game would be a librarian of a Control Vault (I prefer to think of it as Vault 35 if I was to include a number) that had no purpose other than to store large amounts of data about the pre-war world. He grew tired of how things were handled in the Vault. And so he decided to leave the Vault forever. Heading out to document the wasteland.
If possible he would be part of either a major (or the main) questline as the player would need specific information that has supposedly only survived within the data of Vault 35. And after helping Ox with some important things such as gather lore he helps you out and becomes a companion.
You’d also be able, from all the games after this point in time, find duplicated holotapes of his ingame discoveries about the world, but the lore is incomplete. And how upon listening to these holotapes (and after meeting Ox) you are given a Miscellaneous quest which takes you to the location described in the tape. And you can proceed to find out what really happened and report it back to Ox where you’ll be able to then find new Updated Holotapes which include more up-to-date information.
As you have him as your companion he’ll crack random jokes, smoke big fat cigars if left standing around too often, or upon discovering to simply reaching a specific location he’ll start telling you some of what he’s heard of the place. Giving you some lore straight away.
And he has his own studio in a major settlement to make his recordings and create specialised holotapes. He also has his own specialised Pip-Boy that resembles the Pip-Boy in F3 combined with the Pip-Boy in F4 which has the special addictions to be able to record log entries on the go through both his voice and text. And whilst travelling with him you’ll hear him randomly make additions to his Personal Journal and note various lore in the game.
And he could even be a sort of a detective since his ability at solving the lore of locations would be able to help in finishing the case.
(Have i droned on? Yes, most likely. But then again, this is just my views.)
The olive color brotherhood uniform doesn't only drop from initiate Clark (at least in my game) it's dropped from many dead brotherhood soldiers, that aren't wearing power armor. I barely use mods so I don't think anything is interfering.
PS Proctor Teagan sells the brotherhood hood sometimes.

That was an excellent video and very interesting . I have different characters for each faction too and using Fudge Muppet builds, but I did pickup on a few good ideas you use. The player homes in the appropriate bases are a disappointment and being on PS4 there's not much available other than an Institute one, which is good, or a themed home elsewhere. I just noticed Fudge Muppet did an Oxhorn build lol
OX! I found a mod (that is on all platforms) that allows you to wear any full body outfit as under armor, mod any outfit with ballistic weave, change the color of any armor or outfit, and also adds a few other different cut content outfits. Can’t remember what it’s called, but I know it was made by the same person who made the mod AKWCR (or Armor and Keywords Communication)

I almost always use bos uniform and for power armor, just because of roleplay and lore purposes. It is tight fitting so you fit in the power armor, and was made specifically for the power armor.

When I was hunting for are legendary weapons in Fallout 4 I came across a missile launcher that does bleeding damage, so if the rocket doesn't kill your target right away it will sit there and bleed to death😈

I’m planning on making my character a brotherhood spec ops/ special forces because that’s what the did pre war. They will use a sniper, automatic rifle of some sort, a pistol and a sword with the guns suppressed. I may find a mod that adds assassin missions too. They will also try to be a little diplomatic and set up connections with the minutemen so the brotherhood can help the community a little building settlements. Forgot to mention, I’ll use stealth armour or some marine armour. Maybe some combat armour if needed. Even some costumes that can be on my companion likely to be dog meat so I can use lone wanderer.
Personality I like to make a character who is minutemen and brotherhood. I like to think of it as joint task force type of thing I use militarized minutemen and the dance dilemma for the factions and a bunch more mods.
If you can find the legendary perk Deadeye on a drop to me that is the best perk ever (ability is, slows down time as you look down the sites for short duration) which is amazing with a sniper hitting them three or four times before they could even draw their gun
Best melee weapon I found was the instigating disciples cutlass that you get by including the disciples as (one of) the favoured gang(s) of the nukaworld DLC. It doubles the damage done to enemies with full HP. With the right build you even 1-hit behemoths with it.

The lancers were the black uniform also. So if you find one dead from a supermutant battle. You could loot it. I usually stick with the vault suit.
I have a mod that lets you transfer legendary effects from one weapon to another and armor vise versa but point being I grinded for the speed boosted legendary effect and got oswalds top hat for fashion and the speed bonus and put the rest of the effects on shadowed combat armor and made a character who has the Kremvh’s Tooth blade and the blitz perk with a typical melee blitz stealth build but yeah 60% speed is quite fun.(Ps you can transfer the modification for the tooth blade onto a machete with something like the wounding legendary effect, but yeah the mod is fair because you got the effect your just transferring it just like you can power armor mods or weapon modifications)

I've never sided with the BOS but when I do it will be my only male character because Nick was a canon solider before the bombs fell and I think he would jump at the chance to survive with equipment that he used in the war. Of course a prewar solider would use power armor in the wasteland. I've also never sided with the institute but when I do I'm gonna make a build about a woman who only cares about finding her son. She's gonna have super high intelligence and be horrified with the state of the world and only see the negative because she will only be focused on finding her son. When she finds him she will be elated that he hasn't grown up in the dangerous wasteland and that he is safe.

I know this is a little late but for when I do BOS play throughs I did also use hellfire but wanted to return to the T-60 as like you said it’s Iconic but I still wanted some Uniqueness to my character so I use the Tesla T-60 from the automotron DLC it adds that flare that I love and I downloaded the creation club sentinel power armor so I could get that outcast BOS paint and now play as if my character was an OUTCAST that got reintegrated into Elder Maxon’s BOS chapter but I kept the paint on my armor to act as if I was special forces in the BOS along with the sentinel automated power armor (going for an almost Star Wars Bad Batch vibe). Also the Creation Club BOS paint for combat armor is clean so I use that as well. Makes it really fun.
