Hey Cody, Awesome video. Don't let the haters get to you. Crazy some people do not get it. Thank You for being a voice. I was the president of Lake Worth Boynton Beach Bassmasters for 20 years. Have tried to be a part of the fight against the spraying. Hopefully Scott's voice will be a boost. I don't recognize the lake anymore. Keep up the fight for our kids and grand kids.
Cody, great video, my 13 yr old son and I watch your content all the time he is a young tournament angler here in Florida. He has learned a great deal of knowledge from watching your videos. I appreciate the fact that your videos are informative and kid friendly. The little nugget about hanging out and congratulating the wins. They worked hard for their win and deserve it. It also help build relationships, friendships and respect.
Just wanna say that while I only have watched your youtube videos and don't know you personally, you seem like a stellar human being man. Your content and knowledge of the big O extends to many other Florida anglers and bodies of water for that matter. Have been quietly watching you since the earlier days, but I and many others seriously appreciate what you do. If I ever make a visit down to Okeechobee I will be sure to give you a call.
Great channel - keep up the good job. How about doing the next video on breaking down the lures and techniques used by the top 10 to do so well in this tournament!
😅 I agree! But he also had his fish eyes ( electronics )looking and spotting bass on beds and identifying fish in that area. So you know they are there!! Now you have to become a fisherman and figure out how to catch em.. Just have to have confidence at that point in yourself at being able to do the job at hand.. Especially if you see others catching them.. I'm proud of Hollywood!! Hardest thing to do is win one on your own lake. He made it happen. That's a huge accomplishment for him. I congratulate Scott for his big win.. Not only a win !!But a record setting win to boot. 💪💪🇺🇸💯👍💲💲💲💲
Great video. I had the pleasure and honor of fishing with Scott on day 2. Greatest learning experience of my life. Incredible to witness it firsthand. He was so lazer focused and calm. It could have been an even bigger record, he broke off and missed 2 giants that day and it didn’t even faze him unlike I’ve seen in the past. Incredible guy and fisherman. I will also say it’s been over 20 years since I have been to Okeechobee and it was sad to see what it looks like now compared to what I remembered then.
Must of been awesome to witness it go down from the front row! I always say this game is 90% mental! Being composed and calm through the process is not easy, but, just look at Scott’s outcome. Hopefully we can get this lake back to the condition it once was in!
Don’t listen to the guys complaining. Maybe that guy couldn’t understand it when you explained it, although you did explain the reason very well. I’M from PA and i move around in the boat lanes and listen for boats coming, I move out of the way before they get there. It isn’t that hard lol. I caught my first Okeechobee bass with Tom Mann Jr. on a burner worm. It was 8 pounds! I love that place! I’m going to retire down there. We go every year. Your videos are great. I have learned a lot from you. Thank you!
I have been blessed to fish the big O several times and You should be fighting for your lake with all you have. My PB is still from The Big O and I have fished Mexico too.
So spot on about the egos. It's so refreshing when a fellow angler in a tournament is just conversational and kind. We're all out there doing what we love and having some friendly competition. Too many good ole' boy cliques. I will 100 percent root for a friendly fisherman to win a tournament over someone who thinks they are too good for everyone else.
Great video Cody! You covered a lot of topics. I was glad Scott Martin won, but your assessment points out just how significant it is. Also, the bass fishing ego thing - totally agree. I feel into that trap when I first started fishing and have learned that it doesn't have to be that way. Reminds of a time I was on the lake with an out of town friend and after 4 hours of hunting fish, we finally found them in a boat trail. You came down the trail on plane, came off plane and gave us a wide berth as you went around. I was very happy for my friend and learned a great lesson from you. I have a lot of respect for you as a guide and a person. Happy to know you and fish beside you any time!
Your right bro! Love to see your care for the lake as I have the same feel!! I come down for weeks at a time every year just to fish! We Gotta keep her healthy! Keep the awesome content coming! Hope I can book a trip with you in March when I come down.
Thank you for your perspective on bass fishing! Ego is our worst enemy! Just wish fishing was a little more about just fishing! Congrats to Scott, Randall, and Brandon for showing what Florida Bass Fishing is all about!
Cody great job - I like your sticktoivness - 90% is just showing up. You can be anyone on the internet but I truly was a Big O guide in the late 1980s. LaMaster's Moore Haven Marina. I used a Hydrasports VL 475 w/200 Merc. Brett at Jolly Roger was my man. Moonshine, both upper & lower, Cohcran's, cow pasture, Dice's Ditch, McTush, Point of the Reef, Indian Prairie, Dynamite pass, 2,3 and the R marker poles in the Hayfield. No gps used water towers, pine trees at Twin Palms, tripod at the MH 7 mile ditch $150 a day - can't see til can't see! idiots fished in trails then too - blow bw on plane and wake is ez - shut down and you swamp them. I learned the lake on 12' - low enough that if you come off plane you're idling a long damned way.
Agree with forward facing sonar, the co-angler is at a serious disadvantage. Already during the spawn, I have fished with some big names on St Johns and Kissimmee chain. They will spend 40-60 minutes trying to catch a 2 1/2 pound with me ready to kill myself in the back of the boat.
It’s just not that big of a deal when live scope was involved in the sad thing about it is Scott Martin doesn’t need Ford facing sonar to win tournaments. We know he does such as the day.
Great video! (as always) I share your concern and sentiments regarding Big "O" Thank you for your encouragement to speak up whenever we are given the platform to do so!
Why is the largest lake in Florida fish so small? Why is it you never ever see anyone fishing offshore like you do on other lakes? Maybe the lake can’t keep up with the anglers You said fish go back out in the lake so why can’t they be caught out there?
They can be caught, and do get caught but not on a consistent basis. Mainly due to water clarity with the main lake being muddy most of the time. And also because of the lack of structure out in the main lake. The fish don’t have anything to hold or set up on with the lake bottom being so flat. They just free roam out there searching for shad. With that all being said, now with FFS im sure people will start to unlock out there!

Greatly appreciate you watching and could not agree more! Don’t be “ to cool “ to shake your competitors hand and say congratulations!

Yes sir!!
Congratulations to Scott , plus he earned a Classic berth . .

He was fishing a community hole in Harney Pond. It is the same way every tournament that is held on the lake. Great job Scott !!!!!!!!!!!
You have a good thing going. Your opinion is formed from your experiences. And people that hate on that are ridiculous.

Thanks for sharing your insights Cody... congrats to Scott!👍
Just found your channel, cool rant very well put. 👍
Great podcast. I really enjoy listening/watching your videos. Keep it up man.
Great video. Thank you !
Great podcast Cody, keep it up!
Another thing that would help…. Why can’t they make structure out in the lake. Artificial structures that doesn’t hurt the lake, but helps the fish?
Waterloo new sponsor? I see there rods on Facebook alot
There is so much open water in the Big O do you think some will catch winning fish 1/2 mile off shore? Has anyone even looked out there?
Thats where they all live! Problem is the water is usually very muddy. But, certain times of the year we catch them.
Agree with forward facing sonar, the co-angler is at a serious disadvantage.

Ignore the haters boat lanes are for running the lake move over let them go by if you can’t handle it stay out of the boat lane

Scott fished flw not major league fishing and he fished Okeechobee last year
His team found the beds...local knowledge is everything

go to Cross island full moon February and you'll load the boat with catfish. @@tightsplicecharters9976
Doesn’t help when a tournament is run when bass are trying to spawn. Stresses the fish out
