the caraval trilogy gives a lot more information on jacks and his back story! he appears in the 2nd and 3rd book- i personally think it made OUABH a lot less random
Yes!!! Please ppl read the Caraval series first or you will spoil some info also the ride will be so much more emotional and easier to get into the world.
Yes 110%!!! I can’t imagine reading OUABH without having read caraval beforehand. Jacks is just so much more complex and understandable having read that trilogy beforehand it makes the reading experience of OUABH so much better! I feel like people who skip the first trilogy have no idea what they’re missing out on!
But the plot of ouabh seems more interesting to me than caraval

When you threw the book on the table AHAHAH yes, that is the feeling! Also, the apples! I'm hoping she explains them in the last book because I've been wondering about them since the Caraval trilogy! This is possibly spoilers so anyone who hasnt read the books, stop reading this comment. I saw a theory saying that they helped when he was feeling feelings for her (and previously for Donatella) and that kind of makes sense! I'm glad you liked it, now you can be part of the waiting for the third book and suffering club ❤

If you haven’t read the Caraval series I recommend reading it before OUABH to meet Jacks and learn that story before you learn of the aftermath in this series🩵🍎
I've not read the Once Upon a Broken Heart series yet and naturally that means that I have no clue what you are reacting to when reading the ending for the second book but I was THOROUGHLY obsessed and invested in your "*gasp* no... no no no no. no no no no" (and rinse and repeat). That alone single-handedly made me want to read the series! 🤣💕

Reading the Caraval trilogy before I found gave a lot more insight into the fates including jacks and his background

When I re-read the First book of once upon a broken heart series I changed my rating to five star because I realized so many small little details which were clues I missed
Not me who got obsessed with Jacks since legendary, but still i didn't read once upon broken heart yet.

Jacks was introduced in the Caraval trilogy in the last book I believe or it was the end of the second can’t quite remember but you learn a lot more about him in that one!!

After finishing the Ballad of Never After back in (I think) February, I think about it weekly if not daily at times, so I understand the frustration!! Thankfully the third book comes out this month!

you should host a readathon and do this sort of method (12 hour chunks over 2 days) and do reading sprints and stuff like that and have a whole bunch of people participate and do it together!!

I'm reading through the Caraval trilogy, and Jacks is in the second and third book. I can not tell you how many times I've thought to myself, "What is the point of the apples?" It just feels like there's got to be a reason for them.

I have a book series rec as well that I would LOVE you to read. The Medoran Chronicles by Lynette Noni. This is the same author as the Prison Healer Trilogy but in my opinion this series is just so much better. It's set in a fantasy world at a big school (slight Harry Potter vibes) and there are dragons and PLS JUST READ IT. Also the characters, I love them with my whole heart. This series is so underated. Pls read 🙏🙏🙏🙏
