    • @guffaw1711
      @guffaw1711 Před 3 lety +24

      They have so many useful features that can replace other mods, like bounding boxes of structures and shulker box preview windows.

    • @ImSquiggs
      @ImSquiggs Před 3 lety +28

      Here's hoping we get Shulker previews in vanilla with 1.17 -- seeing the way they preview bundles gives me hope they'll apply it to Shulkers as well.

    • @guffaw1711
      @guffaw1711 Před 3 lety +6

      @@ImSquiggs I'm using a combo of shulker preview and a mod called quickshulker that let's you open a shulker box or an ender chest in your inventory as if it was placed down. To me that makes a big difference in inventory management, but it's not the ultimate solution to the underlying problem that there are just too many different blocks and items in the vanilla game now.

    I think it bears highlighting that the most under rated feature of Masa's mods is superb enhancement of the menu system. Having a GUI that's clean, usable, searchable and detailed with hover-text explanations really sets these mods apart.

    • @maruohon
      @maruohon Před 3 lety +56

      Yet the funny thing is that the menu is probably the worst part of (at least some of) these mods in the current versions... :P I've worked on a ton of improvements to them over the past months, which should hopefully come out within the next few months.

    • @dillanagarwalla6100
      @dillanagarwalla6100 Před 3 lety +16

      @@maruohon at least they are consistent, look good, and is somewhat easy to use. Other than Tweakeroo which is kinda confusing, I think the menus are fine.

    • @maruohon
      @maruohon Před 3 lety +29

      @@dillanagarwalla6100 Both Tweakeroo and MiniHUD have the issue that config options that basically belong to the same feature are spread over multiple categories. This was due to implementation limitations in the older malilib versions, where I couldn't have multiple options on the same line basically. I completely rewrote the menu systems and code this past summer, and currently the only mod that hasn't yet been fully updated to the new code is Litematica. But there are countless other improvements and often requested new features on my todo list that I would also like to include to the next round of bigger updates, so it will still take probably at least a couple of months before those are done. And since main development still happens on 1.12.2, then I will have the huge task of updating all that new code from 1.12.2 to 1.13.2, 1.14.4, 1.15.2 and then finally to 1.16.4. So I'm kind of hoping I could do the next updates around the end of the year, but that may bee way too optimistic... usually stuff takes a lot longer than I would initially estimate.

      @@maruohon may i ask
      the 1.16 and 1.15 version is it using forge or fabric?
      since i have a modpack that i have been made and i am strugling to searching slime chunk since the world generation is overhauled,and i think your mods might be helfull for it

    • @maruohon
      @maruohon Před 3 lety +3

      @@ShiroCh_ID There are Forge versions of Item Scroller and MiniHUD for 1.15.2, but not yet for 1.16.x. All the 1.16.x versions are currently for Fabric. 1.16.x Forge versions are planned, but I'm only making those ports after I get the next bigger updates for Fabric done, and that will likely be at some point in early 2021, hopefully. However for slime chunks specifically nothing has changed ever since they were first added. So you could also use an online slime chunk finder. But also I think the Bounding Box Outlines Reloaded mod might have Forge versions for 1.16.x as well? And it also has a slime chunk overlay. But like I said MiniHUD will also get the 1.16 Forge ports maybe at some point in January or February.

    It displays how much hunger and saturation a food will give both when you hover over the item (currently bugged) and when you are holding it. It also displays an estimation of your current saturation. If the mod is also installed serverside, it will be able to show exactly how much saturation you have as well as how much exhaustion (the progress to losing a bar of hunger or saturation) you have.

    Tweakeroo and the other mods is exactly what I always wanted! I was using a hacked client for that stuff till now but I wanted something that I could use in any server

    Thanks so much. I would love a tutorial on litematica. Specifically all the tool features available in creative. I still can’t figure out how to properly use them all.

      There are pinned messages on the SciCraft Discord. But basically the Fill, Replace and Delete modes are similar to the vanilla /fill command, but they just use the Litematica area selection boxes as the areas (plus they prevent all block updates in single player). The Paste mode directly places the currently selected placement's schematic to the world, in single player again without block updates. You "trigger" all of these action with the executeOperation hotkey, while holding the "tool" (stick). For the Fill and Replace modes you use left Alt + middle click (and left Shift + middle click) to select the block to use (and what to replace).

    One of the features that can be really useful in tweakeroo is the one that disables client side entity processing (or something like that), allowing you to fix a terrible mistake like having 5000 entities in render distance

    Litematica looks a lot like Schematica, which I haven't touched in years and am kinda missing. Structure blocks are okay for big builds in creative, but compared to those tools they are quite clunky. The piston rotation feature and the inventory stuff is just nice, really wish that was just part of vanilla.

    so in short, these mods don't change core gameplay mechanics. they are just quality of life features that makes building easier and faster. you can play and build without these mods and build the exact same structure with the exact same resources but these makes it faster and easier

    It's actually possible to click all your items of a certain type into a chest in vanilla. I discovered this feature by accident. First, pick up at least one of the item, then drag it over to another of the item, hold shift, and double click. It moves every item into the other chest except the one you are holding.
    Somthing that I end up doing often is right clicking to pick up half a stack, double shift clicking the other half, left clicking to drop the half stack I'm still holding, and shift clicking to move that half stack in as well.

    • @ItzMeOxHD
      @ItzMeOxHD Před 3 lety +3

      Yes, but that's very inconvenient. What Ilmango uses is also quite inconvenient, he just hasn't looked into the possibilities itemscroller offers (as he said himself on the video).
      Personally I recommend setting up itemscroller so that e.g. alt clicking a block instantly moves all stacks of that block. (Just like shift clicking instantly moves a block in vanilla)

    • @plopsmcgee9672
      @plopsmcgee9672 Před 3 lety

      @@ItzMeOxHD Oh absolutely, it's five clicks and two shifts instead of something more ideal like one click and one keyboard button. There are really only two advantages to that strategy over Ilmango's. Firstly it's vanilla and secondly it doesn't require a drag movement.
