- After facing checkout and confirmation issues, on top of being the first campaign that we're aware of to receive an outright shadowban, now the guys on the Frog G campaign have unceremoniously been closed down, despite having it set up to roll into InDemand.

Bancroft keeping his finger on the pulse of IGG fuckery.
What they did to Frog G's campaign is rotten to the core.
Almost like they wanted to make an example of someone.
I agree with you for the most part... If a creator is ONLY in Indiegogo, back them on Indiegogo.
However if they're available on Indiegogo AND somewhere less hostile to us, back and link there preferentially.
Side note I'm a little sad there's no referrals outside of IGG. It was nice to get a little cred for slinging links.
It sucks that this started happening as soon I was made aware about CG. It was nice to be able to freely browse the site finding interesting comics, but now everything is hidden. Luckily some channels, like this one, promote creators big and small.
If we don't hear back from igg by the weekend we're launching a 2nd chance.
DO IT!
That means you're doing a 2nd chance! 😀
@@GenuineComics we are
Great to hear you will do a 2nd chance! Terrible to hear what happened and IGG's silence!
@@dunringill1747 yeah provided igg doesn't reverse the "mistake" we're doing a 2nd chance
Bleeding Fool should reach out to them for comment. Send it up the chain to bypass the support gatekeepers.
Yet a campaign from 2019 that has not yet fulfilled is still open and in demand….
Spot on, Bancroft! Don't cede an inch of ground; make the bastards push you all the way!
It wasn't too long ago that the talk was leaving IGG because they were taking a decent percentage from the creators, with some campaigns being thousands of dollars. Not everyone can be an Eric July and create a platform like he did for his company. I can understand how IGG gives creators a peace of mind approch to crowdfunding. I remember EVS mentioning a few times that IGG reached out to him when they saw he was getting a campaign ready. They were good to CG. WERE. For now, if I see a creator I want to back it putting a project on his or her own platform, like Mandy, I will back there.
Just this May past IGG reached out to me to ask how they could assist helping me in preparing for my new campaign. How things have changed.
This is so sad. I was looking at crowdfunding my next TTRPG module for my series (first already done); now I will definitely be staying away from IGG as a platform. If this continues, I'll just crank them out on my on, like I've already been doing.
I'd rather pay for it myself than give commissions to a platform that shuts down free speech and discriminates against artists.
We need an alternative crowdfunding site that openly endorses Comicsgate. Once that's in existence I will be closing my indiegogo profile.
I agree. There would be no reason at all to keep my account at IGG if CG creators are no longer there.
Fight the good fight CG!
I got sent a satisfaction survey by Indiegogo and made sure to let them know my disatisfacton with the Search function not showing campaigns under a certain amount of backers.
The fact that it's so weird and random (and after hearing Camel's crazy ranting last night) makes me wonder if they've deployed some kind of filtering/tagging system to shadowban. And it isn't working consistently, lol.
At this point, it's a serious drag on business, which means it's time to find an alternative and drop IGG like a hot potato. Clowns.
Trying to find out if this is happening to other campaigns outside of comicsgate would be difficult because they'd be shadow-banned too.
Yeah, I would have thought though that if this was a site-wide issue, we'd have seen someone else talking about it by now.
Guess I may have to find another crowd funding venue, or just find something else to do.
I don't know if it is about CG. Mainly because even campaigns run by the same creator are not treated in the same manner. At this point, I think it is an utter coding bungle.
I don't know this to be true, but if Frog G did what Narwhal did back in the day (when he extended his campaign incorrectly) and just launch a 2nd chance campaign. I am thinking Jason would have no problem. Now he probably can't put up a campaign exactly the same (Narwhal added a hardcover book), but that may be an option with just a flexible goal to get more sales. Effectively, this problem would be because of a specific campaign flagged rather than an account problem.
Be an interesting experiment, but then again, it's not my money to gamble with.
I sincerely hope you're right, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried that it is targeted.
Indiegogo still's around? Huh. I didn't even know.
While Jon and Ethan maybe right that CG doesn’t necessarily need IGG’s promotion, I think they should also listen to fans who don’t want to give money to people who would shadowban creators they like. It kinda feels like some of the bigger guys here are, understandably, worried about losing out on at least some dependable IGG backers by changing platforms. This situation is not the same as EVS’ comparison about refusing to be ousted from a job by SJWs, in one scenario you are receiving money from them, in this scenario we are paying them to mistreat people.
I think creators should listen to fans who don't want to give money to IGG, absolutely, but at the same time, why should we just let these big companies push us into smaller and smaller corners without any resistance? If they want us gone, why should we just oblige without a fight?
@@Michael_Bancroft I want to say that pushing to stay is futile because I think that given their recent behavior, they will push you out eventually by just banning everyone regardless, but I know I’m basing that on assumptions so I think your questions are something I need to think more about.
Pissed off because creators outed the tip thing or maybe so much money and free advertising from CG they don't need CG no more
IndieGoGo has stopped allowing comments on their last two Twitter posts. They certainly are aware of what goes on but refuse to say why or explain their behavior.
If this goes they way it seems, I hope CG will band together and drop IndieGogo as a full group.
Not responding to people for three weeks is completely inexcusable.
The issue is, if we all just leave, IGG can just wash their hands of everything they're doing here.
@@Michael_Bancroft True. And I am not saying you guys should immediately. But if after a couple of weeks nothing happens, and no reply is forthcoming, you should indeed pull out. If you did this collectively as a group, I am sure a lot of stir would happen within IndieGoGo. It's a lot of money for them after all.
@@LarsLeonhard I'm not saying it to be rude. But not really. You do know there are tons of the campaigns on IGG, not just comics. That make millions, so comics from Comicsgate don't make 10% of the total income.
@@robkuro8564 Indiegogo has had trouble with revenue in the past. And it's not actually that profitable. And if you think any company of that size would take a dip in even just 1% lightly you are wrong. What if those followers of CG doesn't buy other non-CG stuff on IndieGoGo either. It could lead to a spill-over effect.
And there could be a larger effect of conservatives leaving the platform entirely and that would really hurt them. If it became viral. So yes, I am quite serious. Just look at how Eric D. July's campaign went viral and came on Fox News and then blew up even more.
Why else would IndieGoGo not just come out and say it. I think they are scrambling internally with this policy and that's why they keep radio silence. But it could really escalate for them. All they need is to come out and say it and someone in conservative media picking up on it.
It's disgraceful what they do. And I am not even a conservative.. I just hate cancel culture and de-platforming...
On the replay
Not keen on IGG's behavior! I'm a retired geek. What can I do to help?
Here's hoping Elon Musk buys Indiegogo sometime soon lol
Funny how indiegogo has started to act like women.
When I first learned about CG and what Kickstarter had done, I was very concerned that IGG could one day feel the leftist pressure work on them too. IGG's silence on these recent issues as well as what is happening is very non-professional and concerning.
My thoughts on strategy:
Creators should spread out to as many selling platforms as possible. If there is a platform that bans the creator, then those who did the banning will probably have a boss or investors to answer to on why they did the banning.
If a creator is able to make their own platform, then I for one will back there first. Otherwise I will prioritize my purchase off the platform that was most accommodating to the CG creator.
this is related to a community who doesn't produce when they say they will, fail to update campaigns, and probably hurting IGG reputation as a reliable crowdfunding platform
Niggah, wtf are you on about?

Let's hope that an entire group doesn't get blamed for the failures of some individuals in it. I don't know *any* group that would fare well in that environment.
