- "They either speaking Vulcan or... Hebrew" deserved a bigger laugh and would have gotten one at a Con.
- Thompson's "I see you" gesture, with the Vulcan fingers... so enjoyable that I almost missed Moynihan's mouthed threat :D
- The last cut to Thompson & Moynihan... looks like Thompson was genuinely laughing for a moment before getting back into character. Both of the guys did great expressions there.

When Leonard came out I teared up. Loved this.
There's just so much gravitas and cheers when Leonard Nimoy entered the room at 2:18. He's the ultimate Mr. Spock. While I enjoy Zach Quinto's interpretation of Spock in the rebooted movies, IMO no one else can play the character better. RIP, Mr. NImoy, Live long and prosper.
Its the same with Kirk. William Shatner is Captain Kirk.
Well they still are the eventual Kirk and Spock we all know. These new movies are stories from when they were much younger. They will eventually become the ones we all know, but not for a while

Star Trek '09 was actually pretty decent, it actually continued the ongoing storyline by having time travellers from the Prime Timeline set off the story and create a parallel universe.
I was actually impressed they rebooted it in a way that actually continued the story of the Spock we already knew and the way they did it allowed the future reappearance of famous characters that we already know.

Honestly this was lazy. They could have done much more with Nimoy on SNL. This was just a photo op to promote the new movie.

I loved the old SNL episode with Shatner and the Trekkies. LMAO. I've been to conventions years ago when I was in high school. I think the last one I went to was around 1988, but I got to meet most of the cast from TOS and TNG.
As a long time Star Trek fanatic, I think everyone in the new movies nailed the characters. If I were an actor, I could think of nothing more challenging as trying to step into some VERY large shoes. They would have to know their every move, body language and phrase would be scrutinized by millions of fans. I think they did very well.
Just wish the stories were better.

First, William Shatner is my hero and I never thought no one could ever play James T like him, but Pine did a fantastic job, I know a lot of people didn’t like ST 2009, but I thought it was a very well made , Quinto played Spock very well in my opinion, Star Trek Rulz!!,,,Star War Droolz, just kidding, 🖖

If I wanted to watch attractive young people do exciting things I would watch sports.
I didn't mind recasting the characters, but everything they said about not messing with the canon was of course a lie. Destroying Vulcan? Spock and Uhura in a romantic relationship? WTF? No, you don't tear down what came before. Canon matters. There were two different fan made Star Trek websites that made episodes set in the original series era. They were far more entertaining and fit right in. Paramount forced them to shut down before this movie came out. They were true to who the characters were and the style of the show.
I didn't find funny at all, shame they brought in these stars to perform a poorly written skit
ofc it is super fun, but Quinto gets harassed, because he does not fit the character .. maybe it is his crooked face..
