Hey Dean is it possible if you can make a video on how to change the oil on a BMW e60 automatic transmission ?
I purchased the MK908P . Though it appears to be a very capable unit it lacks alot. On Asian vehicles (honda/Acura) you STILL require THEIR HDS software to work with certain parameters. I am not able to see failed wheel speed sensors. Or find out why ACC/LKAS are non functioning on a vehicle. Honda requires $200/30day subscription. Makes this tool not really worthwhile for some manufacturers. Be careful as the whole process of diagnosis is $$$$ for YOU. You likely won’t recoup your $ without large clientele. a $3000 scanner that still need costly programs to program because the manufacturer has the control. Not Autel. buy a basic 808 and be done.
Would love the 908,as love the autel diagnostic equipment,like you say,other makers are charging extortionate price for the scantools good look autel

Between the autel maxiCOM MK 808 and the X-tool D7 which one would u suggest for a Bmw f20? DIY. Also do any of these support coding a new battery ? Thanks. Love your videos.
From what I’ve garnered, the D7 or D8 are the better value. However, the “X-Tool” is relatively an unknown amongst the Autels and Launches. Who knows what the future holds for them..
Does the mk808 have the same bi directional controls like fan, lights, fuel pump, and control like vent actuator?
The mk808 cant be too good for diagnosing if its not bidirectional/component activation. Launch does this at the same price

Can that BT dongle be purchased separately if accidentally left in a customers car? Lastly, I work on a lot of older MB’s that use the 38pin; can I still benefit from this MK808BT or do I need a separate 38pin to OBD adapter? Thanx in advance
If the 808 does everything I need on a regular basis is there any reason to go with the maxisys? I don't mind the price difference but don't want to be committed to the update costs and I can use the shop's scanner for the rare occasion I might need to do something the 808 won't

Hi Dean this is unrelated to your video. But wondering if you have an answer to my question regarding oil level.
I have X5M50F15 2017 twice it’s has been to main dealership the oil level has been under by at least over half litre.
I complained last time they said it was the way BMW said it should be done and it’s to do if the engine flooded .
I no it’s should take 6.5 litres I have spoken to other dealership and they said it should say on the dip stick max and on the electronic one as well.
Have you ever heard of the oil level having to be under it came from factory reading full.

No,its not bidirectional...and freeze frame is a control unit capability...if it does,mk808bt will show it
All obds are bidirectional, the obd asks a question and the ecu answers that is two way communications and hence bidirectional.

@@rustyricks2075 i bought a MK908p. Authentic tool but, no support in North American.
Runs 4,4.2 kitkat, WAY out of date. No play store or anything can’t install anything besides on whats on the tablet. Worries me Google is pull support and im left with a brick. Seriously thinking returning it. $3300cdn it aint chump change.
When you talked about programming, does it mean it does same function as a kess or ktag would do?

Using an Ethos Edge, ATM. You can't perform every relearn/reprogram procedure with this. It's really hit or miss. In this profession, we can't afford to not know whether or whether not we're going to be able to perform simple tasks like this. These tools cost too much.

The Maxicom Is Autels biggest let down. Especially for its size and cost. I advised a shop to get an Autel IM608, and bcuz the Maxicom looks like it they bought the Maxicom instead, and was terribly dissatisfied. Stick to Maxisys 908 and up for real value

Nope I mean the MK908P can do it all straight out the box from purchase as it gives you one year free for programming , coding , updates for all manafacturers so this has to be the best on the market right now. I mean I use it myself A lot way more then I should but I find myself going to this one because it can just do everything I want.

Lifetime is for diagnosis and bi directional it can still be used to do all other functions for lifetime apart from coding and programming, as with autel it’s constantly up to date on there server and of course mercedes coding is not cheap even for the normal person for me it’s expensive. So what autel charge isn’t expensive at all.

I don’t run a shop as such so I won’t be buying licenses but love coding and programming hence I’d like to get the MK908P. When the license runs out can I still do things like adaptions on BMWs/Mercedes such as coding orange US marker lights and other tweaks like heated seat memory or needle sweep etc? Or does adaptions also require the license? I do understand that updating modules will require the license as it’ll be connecting to cloud servers. Thanks!
@@BMWDoctor the mk models are grey imports are there issues renewing subcribtions ? i read after first year they can not be renewed and there is no uk support and most of the functions dont work with uk cars because its not designed for the uk market

I wouldn’t really know as I haven’t used it in comparison to autel to know. But it’s up to you if you want to take that chance and do that but I can safely and knowingly say autel is good for what it does very good.

Hello I was just wondering how your getting with these Chinese tools I’m sorry to say and I’m 100% sure they are as I’ve been doing my homework on the seller’s off Amazon it’s a minefield of copyright tools they exactly the same and not fakes I’m struggling to just buy a legit unit

You can command functions of the car. Windows (up/down) door locks. Wipers. Sunroof. Headlights bleeding brakes. TPMS reset. Lots of stuff. Makes testing much easier to confirm if a problem is happening.

Autel are shit heads. I own an Ultra and Im608 pro.
Ultra has BMS option. Told it is designed for Mercedes and BMW. I go to Mercedes A180 customer and I go to BMS which is listed in the tool. I select it and it fails. I go to my Im608 pro and there its listed too. I select it and it fails. I raise a complaint via data logging on the tool. They reply saying no coverage of that vehicle. They lie on coverage. I know because coverage was supposed to be there for Iveco.I complain the tool not working on Iveco. 3 days later Germany says the tool not work Iveco till end of year. They swiftly remove the coverage lie from website. The im608 pro says does keys. Cant do Micra 2003 key. Had weird issue with Kango van 2007 I recall. Audi TT 2012 it did the key and then 2 weeks later the spare key failed to start vehicle. The Ultra topology map said 98 percent faults with that car. Rescan after erase and straight away it said 100 percent no faults.
The firm Autel are lying to get their way to the top for sales. Then developing the software which did not work. Thats wrong.
Heres my message to Autel about the BMS system. BMS option failed and the battery voltage in live data reading 8 volts after 2 new batteries fitted.
Heres Autel reply - Dear customer, very sorry that the function you are using now is temporarily not supported. Thank you for your support to Autel.
I tell you this. Next time another scan tool is on the market (NOT AUTEL), if its good - im going to get it.
If you want Mercedes scan tool. icarsoft MB about £140 and scans ten times faster than Autel. Its my number one to go to now. Size of a phone too.
