    Didn't even think that things like these exist anymore, good for the gym, just focus on what you are doing instead of checking a phone.

      There are many of these DAPs still out there today ranging from this price to well over 2000.00. Yes thats right over 2000.00. Shanling, Fiio, Cayin, Cowon, Sony, Hidizs, Astell& Kern, and Hiby to name a few.

    I think you probably misunderstood how Shanling like to market this , cause at the same time they release the M0-Pro they also release the M1s ( yeah its got a build in 4.4 balanced output ) .. in the market Shanling having major presence this product is catered to a rather wide customer base who just want that , a small portable DAP and they just use the typical Bluetooth or 3.5 wired earphones

      I'm looking at this because I was looking for a transmitter capable of LDAC. Since I already have have a couple headphones and earbuds capable of it. My current wired capable music player is an LG V40. Who's headphones jack is really good. But that means I carry 2 phones. And it becoming annoying in summer. My phone would need a dungle to use wires.
      This can do the transmitter, the music player, and its so small I could use it as a watch or clip it somewhere. And in the event I need to use headphones with my phone, and either my wireless or the phone need to be charge this can also work as a receiver fore wired ones. While thins are plugged in. It offers a lot already. And been 130 with out the bal adapter make it more appealing than 150 with an adapter I might almost never will use. Since when going out I'm gonna wanna grab the least amount of things as possible. I miss the dedicated mp3 and iPods Era, and this is that. But with much better audio quality and a lot more extra functions.
      I'm looking at this, FiiO M5 and HiBy R2 I believe it is. This one is winning because of the wheel. XD

    This is obviously for those of us that are looking for a replacement for our iPod Nano or iPod Shuffle. When my Shuffle breaks down I'm getting one of these.

    I think this device is for people who want to save their music offline or they like good quality audio but their financial situation isn't that great. This thing is like 120. The next tier that I found in my local store is 300. Thats not a "little bit more". I think its great for markets that dont have as many mp3 players available for you. (Or they are only super trash or super expensive) Also I have seen teens rocking these where they are just nonstop connected to music and they want a safe heaven to run to. Which is crazy to me since I thought they would be more connected to a phone but I guess they want to save battery on a train? I feel like this little thing has a market, its just not the common US market. Imagen being in the middle of the woods in a cabin with no signal.

    Most people aren’t going to use balanced so is it a real issue not to include the adaptor ?

    • @CriticalTechReviews
      @CriticalTechReviews Před rokem +7

      I'm not sure who would know of this product's existence or care to use it aside from audiophiles. And we all are definitely going to be using balanced, considering it's just a cable swap and basically free real estate for wattage.
      Regardless, it's very poor form not to include the adapter with your product, if the adapter is proprietary. It costs almost nothing in manufacturing cost to include it.

    • @ariathyf144
      @ariathyf144 Před rokem +1

      @@CriticalTechReviews Battery life is a concern knowing such device is often preferred for long trips and remote listening.
      My expensive IEM don't come with the balanced cable and its is perfectly fine for my use case since I use it on all kind of devices often.
      If you really need the balanced (thinking or use it primarily that way) then I gent why it makes peoples a bit mad, from the manufacturer perspective they decided to go for lower price in the store so a wider audience could be tempted to get it.

      Well if you have something that can play music with such good quality Why would you want to ruin it by using AirPods, I've never Heard anything that apple makes that produces satisfying sound...

    I wish reviewers (not just you, a lot of them use that term when they shouldn't) would stop calling DAP's iPods. iPods are Apples version/name of an MP3/DAP that they produced.

      @@theryanthomas Then why did you title this video "Is this what a 2023 iPod looks like?" A little misleading.

    • @paultomaszewski1964
      @paultomaszewski1964 Před rokem

      @default I can comprehend just fine, and it's misleading. It literally suggest that Apple is making a new iPod. We all know they stopped over a year ago, but what a way to get Apple people to click on a review. If he were to word this title properly, it should have read closer to this; "Is this an iPod alternative for 2023?"

    • @paultomaszewski1964
      @paultomaszewski1964 Před rokem

      @default So if you're an Apple fan boy and you saw that video title at a glance, would you click on the video to see what it was? I bet there were some that did exactly that and then realized a few minutes in it wasn't anything Apple. Most people looking over these videos wouldn't catch the subtlety of "a" and "the" you have so eloquently explained. I know the difference but like I said, at a glance most people would click and think maybe Apple slipped something by and added it back in their line up. Just saying, people don't pay attention to the details like that anymore.

    • @paultomaszewski1964
      @paultomaszewski1964 Před rokem

      @default I agree about the low attention span fanboy, but if you want to keep that riff raff out, just be a little less subtle in the title. That's all I'm saying.

    Plenty of less well off populations/markets in Asia, Africa & Europe that don’t have those ‘few extra 💵’ that will love this product.

    • @Omizuke
      @Omizuke Před rokem

      Yeah, you don't have to go that far. I'm in the US and spending 100+ on anything hurts. Adding those 'few extra bucks' for an adapter many people won't even use or rarely would alienate a bigger market. And this one can at least justify the price by all the other functions it offers in addition of a player. Hi-Res players are already ridiculously priced.
      It's best the adapter is sold separately, for those that actually want it. It's not like it only came with the USB C like phones. Which reminds me, he didn't care for a phone including an adapter, a fast charger, or any charger for that matter. On a 1400 phone. I think Samsung could've drop a charger for that price without going bankrupt.

    98% of the users in the world have 3.5mm normal plug. Now they are making it even harder by making 3.5mm balanced socket, with separate adapter which is available with only 2% stores in the world. Then they are offering 4.4mm output socket to it. Now we need 4.4mm balanced male to 3.5mm normal stereo output adapter.
    Unless they realize that they should provide 3.5mm balanced male to 3.5mm stereo female socket in the box. So if 98% of the headphone population does not want to get these 2 adapters, they will have to keep using the single ended output at the cost of balanced.
