The gigaplant deck accurately represents the true heart of Jank: You expect this insane combo where everything goes perfectly and blow out the opponent, but the reality is it will 99% of the time be UFO Turtle beatdown, with cannon soldier acting as dark strike fighter.

I'm surprised as well. I also remember being 11 and playing Batteryman D to use as a 1900 wall. Which as shown in Game 1, would have been strong enough to stall.
Edit: And I mained Gravity Bind because nothing was strong enough to hit over a D or AA. Aside from maybe a Raging Flame Sprite.

I won a caste party side tourney at ycs with battery men, and that card was key to the OTKs
I actually ran that version back in the day and won a locals. This really brought me back.

I don't think Cloak and Dagger is in Duel Links, is it? Duel Links doesn't tend to have cards that require you to name a card. I'm not sure about Master Duels, as it is missing some cards.

I can't even with that gigaplant deck. It's an FTK sure, but it's maybe the worst FTK I've ever seen.
I agree with MBT, it's hilarious that this deck that can spew 4 2200/2400 beaters onto the board is actually a mass driver loop deck.
It's an FTK that requires you to hard open, like, four specific cards. Amazing.

Thunder dragon in the battery deck could be fun to have 2 free banishes for Industial strength

I remember batteryman playing infernal reckless summon and gigaplant playing card of safe return.
14:56 I literally thought "Why did Joseph scoop to 500 damage when he had 1900 LP". Even though I know better, it was still briefly inconceivable to me that Cannon Soldier wasn't once per turn.

I would like to add that blazewing was an INSECT and plant COULD BRING it BACK. Blaze was USED to actually get a 2nd GIGA ONLINE BECAUSE it would let you GET ANOTHER GEMINI MONSTER TO HAVE IT'S EFFECT which LET'S ANOTHER PLANT YOU PROBABLY BROUGHT OUT GET ANOTHER LONEFIRE TO GET THE 3RD OUT.
Love the episode, but I'll admit I was disappointed when Cimo spun away from Harpies

I adore batteryman, but then again I have a deep love for field nukes and big beefy numbers.
I know it’s a long way off still, but one of these days I REALLY want to see either Angel of Mischief or Gimmick Puppet of Leo in an episode of Jank. I think both of those strategies would be perfect for the series.

Yeah, at the beginning of this series, I think he was still too focused on winning, but now he realizes that in this one, winning doesn't matter. Fun decks are better than good decks.
@@Celestia282 I think from episode 3 and onwards he started playing the more janky decks. Heck sometimes I felt like he was aiming for the most janky decks over MBT. Even here he could have gone for one of the best decks on the wheel, Harpies but instead went BAD tier janky lol. While MBT actually went with one of the best jank decks this episode though I understand that's because Batteryman is some of his favorite.

The Batteryman deck is missing Infernal Reckless Summon for the optimal amount of jank. Honestly I love this meta in History of Jank.

I took batteryman to nationals during fish otk. It did not go well.
The gigaplant otk was VERY popular at my locals back when I played irl.
There’s something about seeing Batteryman go off that just warms my Yugiboomer heart.
That being said, as someone who played Crystal Beast for most of my teenage years when I came back to the game, I want to see that deck on this series so damn bad 😂
I remember I had the Phoenix Gearfried structure deck and a copy of Raptinus when I was a kid. I felt like a big brain at the time using it back then,
The possibility of an endless gigaplant-mass driver loop has me excited. I really hope Cimoo can get joseph with this and his superior protagonist skills. This would be a prime GX win strategy from bastion.
Batteryman Artifact with 9volt and Monarchs Stormforth was my fun jank deck during duelist alliance format.

One of my favorite playground combos is using UFO turtle, special summon Solar Flare Dragon, activate Reckless summoning special summon the other Solar Flare Dragons.
Also the Energized Bunny got my dying.

Batteryman vs Gigaplant, Holy shit that brings me back. Me and a buddy had exactly these decks. Also Blue Eyes Turbo and Crystal beasts, Six Sams and teledad, and mirror Blackwings. Batterymen vs Gigaplant was almost always the starting match up, and then we'd mix it up each time afterwards.

1 reborn
1 massdriver (cant use cannon soldier becase the normal is being used on lonefire)
but these are like extremely unlikely

The duality of MBT saying how competent and meta relevant his deck would be in the future then hard cut to alex saying his deck is one of the worst fucking decks ever conceived is killing me
Cloak and Dagger used to be so insane because for a little while it was incorrectly ruled that you can chain it to the normal summon of a monster and declare the monster that was normal summoned then CD would resolve. It was baffling but it was Yugioh.

The true batteryman OTK would have used inferno reckless summon
Dark Factory of Mass Production would be used after you send the Gigaplants off Future Fusion. You then use Polymerization to immediately summon Raptinus, so you don't have to wait 2 turns for Future Fusion to summon Raptinus.
If Inferno Reckless Summon was in the Batterman deck, ohhhhhhh shit!!

You should play some of the loaner decks master duel gives you in solo mode like that weird gem knight lavaval deck that they force you to play
I don’t know if Inferno Reckless Summon is out yet, but you’d think they’d play it for the Batteryman deck. That, plus draw cards like Dark World Dealings is what made the deck more consistent than whatever Joseph played.
Man I love batteryman. I honestly think if dad wasn't a thing it could have been at least rogue tier once charger and all of that came out.
