@aloneintokyo may be the best solo in Rust, but even if he isn't, we're all rooting for him over the clans. Now he's shared some tips for us on surviving solo Rust so we too can enjoy Rust even with keylocks on our doors. It takes a lot to be successful as a solo, you need the right strategies for progression, shrewd pvp skills, and a mindset stronger than most to avoid tilt and bounce back from losses.

Video turned out really well thanks for interviewing me
thanks Tokyo!
are you from New Zealand?!?!?!
Thx tokio . Nice tips
Your the best Tokyo
I had no idea you sang, it's beautiful
That final image is the happiness leaving my body after a few hours of Rust.
you can see it, but you can't reach it :(
😂
Lol
Ah man that got me 😂
"unless you're a beast like oilrats or something"
real recognize real
His music is SO GOOD
best musician in rust also?
Agree 😊
Only musician lol@@sigbog
@@sigbog no Mr Wobbles tbh
@@roboticunclephil I mean he does have his own mic skin.... but theyre so different though its tough to compare :S
dude tokyo's complete chillness and understanding is such a nice thing to witness, allot of people who play rust (content creators) always have a amount of stress you can sense when they play, with tokyo its just pure business, sure its unemotional but its exactly what a high octane heartpumping game like rust needs not some guy screaming.
i appreciate Tokyo truly a diamond in the ruff
AIT is definitely a good example of the 'a picture is worth a thousand words'
songs:
1st: Maybe in Another Life
2nd: Sun Sets Alone
3rd: Forever is a Long Time
I'm sure you're already subbed to Tokyo, but maybe you're not following him on Spotify! open.spotify.com/artist/3lKU1iOcWAHIXAD5v5jIUW?si=xAIC66LMSUCJEkGgUZ6ZtQ
Also, I really enjoyed this format, so if you did too let me know what other creators you want to hear from!
Can you ask him if he’s from New Zealand
@@user-by1bt9cl3qI dont think he is
It was really nice! And well put video.
That was sick! You should definitely keep doing this w other creators
I'd like to! there's a lot to like about this style IMO
@@sigbog Willjum would be neat to see.
Tokyo is a legend, I listen to his music all the time, his plays and builds are also insane. Good to know hes also a humble dude, hes far better than just "above average" at pvp lmao
I thought the same haha, he may not have tacularr's aim but no matter how you look at it, explain it, justify it, even just the 'highlight reels'... it takes a lot of skill to be able to put on screen as much great gameplay as he does
AIT is a gem in the rough of our community.... you can learn soo much just from watching him! Thanks for more insight Sigbog!
yea, I've said it before, but he's one of the creators that inspired me to start making content because he's proof you don't need super high energy yelling-at-the-mic content for people to want to watch
awesome vid man!
2 GOATs working together 🙏
thanks Dust!
Alone in Tokyo is a legend! I wish I could build and PVP like him. I hope he puts out some new base tutorials soon. Thanks for working with him to makes this vid
This was a wonderful interview format that other Rust YT players attempt to put together. You should keep doing this form of content with other players.
Id love to, I think a lot of us would like to hear things from various creators but they can't necessarily put it into their own content without risk given so many of them are making pure gameplay vids it wouldnt make sense to stop and spend time explaining something
Wanted a video like this for years. Thanks so much
this is awesome, thanks for making it
It's cool when the best people do things together. Good advice. W video. ☕
ty Tom!
Cool video, i'm a solo player myself too even though i've got a strong team behind me, its so enjoyable at times and see myself back to a lot of things pointed out.
Love this! AIT is one of my favorite's!
The one thing I've taken away from his raid defense episodes is that base mobility is key. A 2x2 footprint with one entrance / exit is useless in a raid He can move from one side of his base / compound to another even with a massive breach and has loads of peeks & angles to defend
and preparedness! its a treat to watch, he never gets pinned down unable to do something
Great video! Only heard of AloneInTokyo from Willjum videos - after this one will def need to check both him and you out more. Very chill bud w solid input, thanks
“I loot rocks and torches unintentionally”
Lies! We all know it! 😂
Thanks Sig and AiT for this vid! After a rough force this gave me some solace to continue the grind :D
Two great creators
thank you! and I think tokyo just never shows his rock/torch box in videos tbh
This is insanely awesome, we need more of this PLEASE.
aiming to do more!
great advice, if everyone followed it.
sometimes that is the hardest part, doing what you know you need to
finally ft AIT, good job bigsog
This video was amazing
I recently started playing rust(~300h) and man.... Such a great video. The final words of the player just resonated thru me. Thx a lot!
Glad it helped!
Nice vid man, appreciated the "It's just a game" joke at the end.
This video was beautiful. Wow earned a sub.
Top notch. ❤❤
Nice video - very good advice, especially that last bit. It's just pixels after all
I think he forgot to mention aloneintokyo's main key to success, he isnt really alone. He literally plays on a server with at least 20 of his friends. When he is getting raided they come and counter the raiders, and when he is finished for the wipe he has his friends come raid him for content.
Lmao
@@cardiox5051 Is it THAT hard to believe?
@@SnarkyMcSnarkles I dont know man, In his last series the raiders had very sus hits on him. Probably cheating and I dont think he would ask friends that for content. Obviously, could be, we never know, but I dont think so. Anyways, doesnt take away how nice his movement etc is in the base during the raid.
@@paulsaalfeld9844 dont get me wrong i watch his videos and enjoy them, its just a little scammy what i think he does. And its not like they dont play well to make him look good or anything weird, the playing is legit, its just semi staged sometimes
@@SnarkyMcSnarkles Proof?
you tokyo tips POG
"unless your a beast like oilrats" is the best thing he said
Great guy and a very well made video, enjoyed every bit especially the ending
Much appreciated!
this is one of the greatest rust crossovers of all time
Great video
enjoyed this
Great vid, thanks.
was perfect man thx for it
For 2 years straight A.I T has been my #1 on spotify wrapped
The fact AIT has over 450K subscribers, yet never says a word, is a testament to how good he is. He let's his gameplay, editing and awesome soundtrack do the talking.
The combination of the mute persona, him being respectful to the clans who try to raid him and not being afraid to show his occasional losses give him an air of humbleness which is very easy to respect. He is indeed the best solo Rust player in my opinion.
I would like some more in depth video on tokyo strats and progression
Doing this with other creators would be great. Loved to read his thoughts!
yea I think the format can work really well for everyone!
watching tokyo is feel like yourself play that survival game . i never play rust but so satisfying to see him try survive in that game .
1. alone in tokyo ( satisfying gameplay)
2. gorliac ( relax and sometimes fun )
3. reksmore ( trapper always intertaining)
4. frost ( movies and story )
5. i forgot the name but solo player too
solo survival always satisfying to watch
Tokyo only singing to mask hi Aussie accent is giga 🧠
It's just a game, the best advice the man gives. I've lost keyboards early in the pandemic to this damn game.
definitely do this with more creators
metal detector explanation/guide pls ur guides tricks are amazing keep going!
Best solo player in English community. There is multiple same/over his level in Russian community.
He's awesome
In combat either your A covering dead bodies so whenever they go to loot it again you get more kills or B reposition after every kill so they can't call you out.
so good!1!!
Extremely well put together video. Wish every new solo could see this and stop door camping me when I only have bow :(
As someone pushing 700 hours on rust. I cant lie. This was a crazy video. Correct mindset is crucial when playing this game. Its unforgiving as a solo. And tokyo got that genius mindset
I have considered trying to play solo more often, as I most often play with friends and depend on them for pvp as I am better at building and doing electricity than actual fighting.
I know the feeling, its frustrating to know you're at a huge disadvantage, but the clarity/simplicity, along with knowing that youre expected to lose, can offer a nice relief to the pressure and make the wins super exciting
Good video, thanks both of you
dank, what a colab
Awesome
So right
Thank you Tokyo, everyone needs to take the last part of the video to heart. It’s just a game:)
Oh no the ultimate tip is being Him
Do a breakdown with trausi on how to approach pvp how to practice aim train etc. He provides a lot of great insight especially in terms of what and when to emphasize etc. I think it’d really help the everyday player.
Rust just like life fr, its about the experience
Aura off the charts
Holy. Bro's playing with the BIG BOYS now. That's wild.
Well doing interviews. But still, big W. AOT is a goated solo.
The most key point: I play for 15hrs straight and might only make a play on the 16th hour.
Persistence is very important in rust.
GREAT VIDEO AS ALWAYS, UR VIDEOS ALWAYS HAVE THE HIGHEST QUALITY AND WE APPRECIATE THAT ♥
Love the video, Love Aloneintokyo aswell but Oil rat's is the best Atm, Solo Or In A Squad my opinion
I would be happy for more scrap farming methods from Tokyo as he plays on 1k pop rustoria us main and I play on rustoria eu main so it’s similar.
Now Oilrats😀
The way bro plays is so satisfying
Tokyo let's goooo
He has a great voice
that is the song name in the beginning of the video?
i know it sounds corny but this video was inspiring. ive played the last 2 weeks without caring about losing loot or getting sh*t on in PVP. one of my best wipes i've ever played - when you risk a lot, rust can be so rewarding. oh and i also have boxes with F1s and smoke grenades in every corner of my base :D waiting for the online now hehe
hope you get the online!
I feel like if AIT talked he would have a lot more subs, just because he would get more people to watch him, but I get everyone has their own style and I think his is pretty good
its a good question, not talking might be the most iconic thing about him so idk what happens if that weren't the case, but his skill as a solo and his music are also iconic...
I disagree. I personally love our silent king
If I actually had Rust, I'd subscribe, this clip was bliss to watch.
I really needed that "use all your loot" advise whej i started out lol. My base was the loot pinata for all the raiders lol. Also "its just a game" is never going to work for like 60% of rust players, ive never met a more angry group then rust players lol. I have been one of them from time to time....
thats alone in tokyos voice i never knew that
A Solid Sub From Me For This Video, I Needed This So Much, Thank You & AloneInTokyo! ❤
AITs voice is so southing to hear, its nice knowing thats really him in his music.
yea for sure
I always said that tokyos strength isn't his aim, but his gamesense. People like tacularr are just insane aimers, but I would consider tokyo to still be better solely because he knows when and how to take a fight.
His mental on top of that is also next level. Where most people give up, Tokyo goes on to make the best of every situation.
for sure, there's a lot of ways to be successful in rust, and the comparison of tac to tokyo is great, so different but so good and great to watch
more like grinding for 16 hours on a dead server
The grief Tokyo's community gives him for looting rocks and torches is one of my favorite things. I swear he does it to mess with us now.
Wait what those Vocals are Tokyo?!
The loot is going away Thursday whether you used it to try and get more, or it sits in your box in a 2x2
truth
best solo (on youtube)
it's just a game
W tokyo
Im loving rust as a new player but its almost impossible to win pvp fights since im new to mouse and keyboard which is making the game extremely frustrating. I can farm and do some monuments and craft a SAR just to lose every fight.
its a super harsh learning curve, but it's also very rewarding. Spend a little time on aim servers and it'll go a LONG way. Seriously go shoot bots or other players for like 10 minutes and it'll be a wipes worth of experience. Early on the hardest part is getting experience with guns to learn them because it's so hard for you to get them and use them consistently.
aloneintokyo's videos are always long so i thought this was a 43 minute video at first
This video inspired me to solo raid the 83 deep zerg next to me
did ya win?
W mummy wraps black player !
I love aloneintokyo's videos. If you take a minute to think about why he doesnt talk.. it makes perfect sense. Talk is cheap 😉
Cool that ive come to realise so many of this solo
Not cool that im still so bad xD
eh, awareness is just part of it, still need practice to execute the theory consistently
Do one with willjum
Nice to have some confirmation AIT plays 12 hour+ days, I've told people this and they don't believe me.
Thanks :)
ive been solo just over 23k and mainly play on rustoria or other high pops ive only played a bit with a work friend. i just dont trust teaming in rust and i dont know anyone who plays regular servers IRL except a work friend. they all play PVE. the only way to play pvp is patience and the ability to not get mad at every death. i tell all my friends that i show clips or loot hauls to that its literally just an odds game. high pops are a gamble, period. get comfortable losing , straight up.
RUST IS NOT JUST A GAME BRO ITS A SICKNESS
sick obsession :D
Oilrats gotta be 2th
I just played a Monday wipe with 6 other friends and we have 13k gunpowder and 40k frags. I farmed everything and cooked everything. And they all just left the server cuz they were bored. I said hey let’s go do a huge raid on some pvp chads and they are like nah don’t raid then said they are hopping servers…
