  • Are you currently struggling in your classes? Well, I have some good news for you. Your mental abilities can improve through the magic of neuroplasticity. In this video, we explore how anyone can get smarter and more focused through consistent mental exercise. With the help of neuroplasticity, your brain will form new connections and strengthen existing connections. And over time, this will effectively increase your ability to understand, focus, and endure long study sessions. So awesome!

I sucked at school. I'm ADHD, and autistic. But whennit came to guitar, it was pretty much the same deal. I went from just screwing around, to practicing 6 to 12 hours per days, and enjoying it.
I think I did the same with cycling. I'd ride for an hour occassionally, and I got to riding 200-300 miles per week, for fun...
Now, I'm old. I can still play guitar real well, but riding bike? I get bored after an hour...
Like my affinity for music, I've an affinity for engineering.... but I hate school.... I did go to some college, aced physics, but sucked at everything else, because my teachers were horrible... physics teacher was fun.. go figure...
I'm retired now, but interested in so much...

Thank you so much. I literally just started my engineering journey and was already doubting if I would be able to make it to the end. It’s encouraging to know that I would adjust with time and to be patient with myself until I do. In the mean time, I will keep at it.

Yes! Have patience with yourself and take comfort that with dedication and persistence, you will get better at it 100%.

Great quality videos here ! I also want to add that there are daily habits things that makes your concentration worse like excessive video game time, using short form content apps (tiktok/reels) and overstimulating your brain ! As well as daily activities that can encourage focus and concentration like reading books (wether its fiction of non-fiction) or meditation. Keep up the good work !

I figure that something like that must have happened to me. I was a terrible HS student. I struggled with math even into college. It was with great determination that the math light started to glow for me.

Brain cells and circuits are a lot like muscles and tendons, they all adapt and grow to accomodate to the stress they are put under. In other words they do better what they do repetitively. So like lifing a bar 50 times improves your strength, so does thinking about, remembering, and recalling, may you better at those functions. But there is one caviat.
The brain, unlike muscles, contains the circuitry of ego and emotions, which can be blockers of deliberate learning of stuff that is not connected to ego and emotions. (However, if something is connected to the ego and emotions, we remember it quite easily, which can be unfortunate for bad experiences). So to learn all that neutral stuff (not connected to ego and emotions) we have to cultivate curiosity, concentrate while abandoning the sense of self and over personalizing experience, and repeat, repeat, repeat and retest what we repeated.
Also, whether it is learning or becoming a better (or worse person) we are who we practice being.

i would like to add the PPC method from 'how to get an a in college' (or something similar) Pay attention, Put it in ur own words, Connect with it. i Paid attention to the beginning letters of this method. i Put the letters in my own words - Particle Projection Cannon (i was a sci-fi war-gamer), i Connected with it by imagining the cannon shooting knowledge and understanding into my head.

i iwsh someone like you or you could be my life coach, i really needa change, went from being a bright gifted kid who was incredible in science, to an absolute dysfunctional mess, BARELY scarping by doing the bare minimum. I want to change, and soon Im gonna put in a plan to change my habits, my ways, and become the scientist engineer I want to be. Ill be buying your books, gonna cut off the internet use.

Hello Jake, ¿Why not teach us what you know about structural engineering? For example, what would it take to support a living space (a residence) using iron posts? And once having made all the right computations, we can then be able to use the concrete ground floor as our garage & workshop. If you choose to be our teacher, offering us a class with alot of real life projects, I will subscribe to your channel.

I've had this argument with various psychologists and school teachers(I are one). I think you can become more intelligent/smarter, some do not believe this. You can't really argue the point with them because they don't believe they can improve or be smarter so it hurts to argue with them. They already steadfastly believe they are at a level of intelligence that is static: they will stay stupid, despite the facts. Oh well. I gave it a shot. Since your an engineer, I really wonder why you felt the need to predrill for the deck screws in this application? Did the baby scrunchies or the depth of the screws really have the potential to exert the necessary force to split the wood? I 'wanna see the math.

You cannot become smarter. You can only maximize what genetics gifted you. And apply yourself with vigor and purpose. Thems the breaks. Can't beat entropy, either.

isnt maximixing unactivated genetics getting smarter tho? Not a smart comment about smartness, lol.
