I’m a mechanic, those Subarus are actually really good cars. I definitely would recommend re working that air intake before you drive through high water like that too much!
Now Hunter your always keeping us entertained & that is why i love every video you post ! Now the idea for protecting the windows was great but for the air intake try add one those funnel tubes that rybs up the passenger side A pillar with a turned down top like a U and that should really take care that part !
I loved every second of this!!!! Please, at least put some sort of a roll bar in that thing! Maybe even a homemade air bag system to get it as low to the ground as possible for the serious times and get you higher off the ground for water crossing, etc.. Wish I could be there with ya man!!

That was awesome lol. Personally I would've added bedliner or something to the car's body as well as some polycarb windows, as that's what I thought you meant by armoring it up. But this certainly sufficed: some of the most hardcore chasing I've seen in a while, cannonballing it even through some utterly atrocious roads. You're my kind of guy. XD 👍

The Storm Hunter!!! Becareful !!! My daughter's neighborhood was hit by 1 of 14 Tornados that hit Dayton, Ohio,, Memorial Day 4 years ago. It was around midnight in the dark.
As a fabricator and a someone that grew up watching the A-team I've always wanted to build a storm chaser. Unfortunately I live in the northeast and we dont get too many tornadoes, we only get blizzards and hurricanes so putting a chainsaw in the back of my Jeep is all the storm chaser I need. PS i really wish my TJ was big enough to sleep in😂
if you flip the expanded metal either 180 or even 90 degrees i bet you would get visibility having the " diamonds" go up and down not left to right. and i want to see the single windshield gas shock replaced with a 12v linear actuator on each side with buttons inside to power up and power down the wind shield metal and they will hold it down in the event you get some serious uplifting winds.

Looks like a Snatch Land Rover that we used in Northern Ireland 😂😂😂 we also used them in Afghanistan when they weigh about 4 ton which is good in the desert sand 🤬
It's not a tornado until it touches the ground then it is a tornado in the air It's just a funnel or a rotating wall cloud. Just letting you know, I got my a$$ reamed by a PROFESSIONAL storm chaser for not saying it right. Be safe my friend.
Subaru means kite that doesn't run. The best thing to do is sit on the side of the road and make engine noises with your mouth! Seems like you would want a form of radar so that you don't test the Subaru flight pattern. Most of the time the flight pattern is related to a ferris wheel. A toyota flies more upright. Remember the Subaru safety factor lines up with the fact the car doesn't move under its own power. If you want to have some fun, change the oil to 5W15. That Boxer engine will explode from too much freedom!
In that last clip looked like you were in Oakley Kansas, I drive a truck there (mostly do stuff around Goodland to Oakley area). Had to pull over a couple of times during these storms and still getting pretty good rain every night.
Not bad mods to ya car but i will need 3 to 4mm steel plate on ya doors,roof and what i yanks call ya hood,roll cage,stronger window protection and with some space between that and the glass but also some mesh to protect ya radiator from hail etc but for the air intake of ya motor u could make a snorkel
