Jimmy shares his background working with Tim and OUR and shares behind the scenes of some of the operations. There have been some beautiful experiences with working OUR and Jimmy has met some incredible people from the organization.
Jimmy explains that he feels duped about working with Tim. Jimmy says that the worst info is about to come out. He also explains that the EGO of Tim was the thing that destroyed a great organization. "All we wanted to do is save kids" Jimmy also explains why he stopped being a part of the group.
I don't think I'm going to believe anything from the internet right now. So many people are coming under fire at the moment. It's time for detached observation

The thing is… as Jimmy states here… he and others have had concerns for a while. We have the ability to think critically, however, many don’t fully develop this skill because it’s easier to just go with the flow; adapting alongside others ensures community and we are very social beings. So it’s not about avoiding the internet. Plus- mob mentality, groupthink, and echo chambers originated LONG before the internet.
What this comes down to is active listening and general awareness of your own and others’ biases. Something someone tells you sounds a bit odd? Question it! Learn something that supports your views? Question that too! Obviously we can’t look into everything we hear or discuss… but if there is something you care about deeply or have a role in, do your due diligence.

A lot of gangs and cartel members actually have alters asking for protection against getting killed. You can look around and see prayers at alters with prayer cards and candles and they give thanks to Santa Muerta. Jesus Malverde is also used by cartels like a Robin Hood figure for them. And they use tweety bird or a yellow bird as symbolism like the cat is the law that pursues the yellow bird. So tweety bird is popular. You will see keychains and charms you can carry with you.
And many cartel guys carry these prayer cards or symbols or wear shirts or colors to symbolize these people and things. Jesus Malverde is often depicted as saint San Simon wearing a suit and holding a money bag. San Toribo is the patron saint of undocumented immigrants. Many say he appeared to them and saved them from death. You can see prayer cards in gangs wallets on they will wear a tee shirt with these saints on them and they love candles.
Tim and the people with them would have been more convincing wearing a tee shirt with Jesus Malverde as Saint San Simon or having a prayer card on them or having a tweety bird tattoo. Or having even a prayer card tattoo. Not all the idiotic ones he chose.
He could have had “Callate la Boca” tatted on him which means shut your mouth and they use candles with that meaning stop talking, just like we down in my state use vadoun/voodoo candles. We leave whisky and different gifts for the ones that help you. I would have laughed at his henna tattoos.
By the way we also have a whole lot of Spanish influence so we have people practicing the same religion and saints you see these drug cartels honoring. Catholicism is often used with voodoo and Santeria and Santa Muerta etc. and we combine tribal native indien with scared secret French prayers. My famille have traitueses and traituers which are Cadjin and indien healers and shamans that use sacred secret french prayers. We were called Spanish Louisiana before we were French Louisiana so I know a lot about this history. Plus I have many many friends from Mexico and South America.
The tapa Boca candle is what it is known as and you can find those in grocery stores. It means to cover your mouth. So many things he did were so outrageous and didn’t reflect the culture of the gangs or their culture. He would have been more believable actually knowing someone locally who could explain this to him.
Sexual assault is totally different to having affairs with women who adore you and throw themselves at you.

If what you are saying is true, then I feel awful for the people involved, including Tim. I have been to dark places in my life where I stopped and asked myself, "How did I get here?" I understand the slippery slope and people making awful, life-changing decisions. If Tim has done things that are wrong like adultery etc., there is no reason for us to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Sound of Freedom is a great movie, OUR is doing great things. I still stand with O.U.R. We can still continue to save women and children. Hopefully Tim and those involved can heal and grow and move on from this. So sad.

At any time was there a conversation about seeking mental health for what was seen or done? I use to work with someone whose husband works for the FBI taking down child predators here in Utah. Long story short, because of what they see, she told me at that time the people doing this work are only allowed to see a certain amount of time or pictures, but they then have to go get therapy to keep them balanced and ok because it is horrible.
So that is why I wondered if that was ever a conversation and if not, maybe something for those in this industry to really consider going forward. It’s healthy to seek help. 19:37

Finally got around to watching this. I briefly worked with OUR on the Children Need Families foundation project. I worked with Janet at the time and got to know OUR and their operations a little closer. Also had close friends work on the video production teams. After all this, I'm responding the same way you did earlier in this episode. I feel duped. And I think it hurts worse than I thought it would because I became a big believer in what we were doing. I wanted to save kids and fight traffickers. Thanks for sharing your story Jimmy. I can tell it's heartbreaking for you as well and that it's not easy to talk about.

the duality of an undercover lifestyle on one side and a church going man on the other becomes corrosive. I have a friend who worked undercover narco back in my home town. We were in the same ward he served in the bishopric. One Sunday morning we were in ward counsel and b4 the meeting started he says "wanna see what I bought last night?". Help me to understand something. Didn’t you say that a couple months ago you made a post saying you didn't see or know of Tim doing anything wrong? But now you're claiming he had affairs? What evidence do you have to make you draw the conclusion that he's guilty of such a thing now? Because that's what's lacking with this entire thing--- evidence.
What we seem to have though are people who apparently had issues with Tim but have waited until now to voice them. You can at least understand why so many are skeptical since his detractors have waited until Sound of Freedom and political ambitions to surface to come out with all this.

But speaking with people isn't evidence. For example, someone me and my family know COMPLETELY fabricated falsehoods about us. Just because people spoke with that individual didn't make their claims about us true. Same thing applies here.
Wouldn't it be more accurate to say that you don't have evidence but that you find their stories believable (which also doesn't mean their claims are true)?
These are important distinctions because you are sharing what you portray as a lot of insider information. If you're not careful in how you frame things, you may lead people to believe you have access to hard evidence of Tim's guilt, when in fact you do not (if that's the case).
Again, big difference between having the evidence or having seen the evidence that proves it beyond doubt and simply believing what people say could be true.
When it comes to destroying someone's character (and in this case their family), I want evidence and facts proving their guilt. Not just unfounded claims. Which, unfortunately, is all we have so far.

The women didn't wait until Sound of Freedom was released to come forward. O.U.R began a misconduct investigation which led to Tim leaving O.U.R in June, which was before the movie was released!
@@nostoppingit7243 The script for Sound of Freedom was written in 2015. Filming finished in 2018. Angel Studios eventually got the rights and it was officially released in theaters July 4, 2023. The announcement and buildup for that release came long before the July release. So, let's not pretend that allegations and the internal investigation came outside the timeline of all that because it just isn't true.
Now, having said that, does it mean he's innocent? No. But it certainly doesn't discount the possibility of ulterior motives from the other side either either.

Thanks Jimmy, for your insight on this matter. I did operations with OUR from almost the beginning until sometime in 2018. I was on the big mission that was conducted in Columbia, that homeland security took credit for. During my time with OUR, things were ran differently. I noticed the changes that were starting to happen and I backed away. I cannot say that I saw Tim or anyone else do anything that was unethical but I can honestly say that I felt some changes were being made that didn’t sit well with me.
Go public. We need to hear the truth.

The kind of people who are trafficked are vulnerable. Ballard hires people with very little if any vetting and they have no real training in how to truly identify people who are trafficked, and how to safely help them escape. People who want to come into contact with vulnerable people are going to be very interested in "helping" Ballard precisely because he does not properly vet them and is not himself qualified in any way to do this kind of work. He's allowing goodness only knows what kind of people to freely come into contact with vulnerable people.
Ballard's entire operation is suspicious, dangerous, and needs to be stopped. Period.
I think Jimmy is taking the position of being a witness here. He probably knows the truth more accurately than we do, with his inside knowledge.
@@dlariby Because he was involved with every operation, every person who was employed and every thing they ever did? Nonsense. he has some knowledge based on his limited direct involvement. That does not even come close to addressing the problem of a home made organization with no actual training about trafficking which is a problem in itself, as well as hiring people who are not vetted. Someone's limited involvement for a handful of operations doesn't change the inherent problems.
Reminds me of Jodi Hildebrandt, who has no education or training in clinical therapy who was basically doing the work normally done by people who have BS, MS, and Ph.D. AND spend a significant amount of time in training before going into practice as a mental health professional. Apparently as long as you are steeped in religion, you are "qualified" to be a "licensed counselor" in the stare of Utah. She couldn't get a job as a high school guidance counselor in most states because she doesn't have basic qualifications for even that level of counseling.
Do you want a doctor that learned their craft on CZcams and never went to medical school? No. There is a reason that society has evolved to recognize that we want qualified people doing certain work. And when it comes to rescuing trafficked people it should be done by qualified, trained, and more than anything else - people who have proper BACKGROUND CHECKS. Which NONE of Ballard's operation involved even cursory background checks.

Not sure how informed you actually are, the person who went to get two children and ended up adopting the entire family was not Tim, it was Mark Stott. Mark is a good friend of mine and a former business partner, and I know this to be a fact. Tim adopted two kids not four. That makes me question the validity of the rest of your podcast.

Jimmy, it's clear there were often very good intentions. I wonder how you feel now about the involvement of laypeople in these jumps. Like you've said, multiple things can be true at the same time. You can be a very capable and intelligent person, but also not an expert in the field and not suitable to participate. You admit to significant gaps in training and understanding of trafficking, yet participated a dozen or so times. What would you tell someone else if they were facing similar opportunities to the ones you had? Learning what you've learned over the years, do you feel OUR either met or exceeded the professional and ethical duty of skills training required for these types of sensitive and potentially dangerous situations? If not, what should accountability look like?
"Experts" are often lacking in training and judgment as well. Experience is key, but don't assume someone is a better operator just because they are affiliated with a government. It is often not the case.
It wasn’t handled the right way. A lot of good was done but a lot wasn’t a net positive so I’d say the ops should definitely never be done again the way we did them

I read an article on Rolling Stone where trafficking experts expressed their concerns with how the movie portrays trafficking because it’s not really how trafficking works, to your point.
It’s usually very small time and by a person who knows the victim. You’re not going to have luck wandering around random Mexican cities looking for a mob with connections. You’d need to find a guy controlling one neighbor girl, etc. Which isn’t economical for a task force. I think the whole model doesn’t really work.

As someone who’s also spent a great deal of time and money in the effort to protect children (and saw through Ballard’s bullshit immediately), you did the right thing.
Certainly we are all flawed. But there are a myriad of inconsistencies in Ballard’s yarns that led me to believe that his intent was significantly impure.
My son’s father is an operator. This is a very specific term, reserved wholly for military elite (e.g., Delta, DEVGRU, Recon). “Operatives” are CIA.
I noticed Ballard claimed to be ex CIA. Yeah, no. He was almost certainly your standard entry level DHS border agent. And that’s great. But having been surrounded by these men, I take issue with those who steal others’ valor.
Again, the kids thing is easy. Everyone gets stupid when the cause is children - as well they should. The problem is that scumbags are aware of this too. Ultimately, no, Ballard is not a Jerry Sandusky. But to exonerate him by such a low measure would be a grave injustice. Our kids deserve more than that.
Why are you speaking now? Especially if you're still afraid of being identified. That's why only a few can do what Tim does. And if he did do anything inappropriate then have him on the show let him be accountable.. What you say is still very unclear. Trafficking is mostly done underground. If you hear from victims they are trafficked thru undergroud clubs, homes connected to other homes and buildings assocated to organised criminal departments etc. Tim had to be believable even if it made him sick which he him self had admitted to multiple times. But was it worth rescuing all these children and adults?. Plus remeber Tim lost everything to do this and put his life, and families life on the line.. I feel that it can't be so black and white to do what Tim is doing. Though it must be said that when you stand for a truth you must represent truth. And if Tim is using this non profit as a guise, then all I can say is that Tim needs to come clean and correct his ways and seek help. Very disappointed with both sides of the arguments. But no one is perfect.

I went on a mission to Sao Paulo Brazil, so I speak Portuguese and I speak Spanish. I can tell you that along with the careers I've had in-law enforcement and in the Marines things are much worse than what has been shown... not less.

Jimmy concedes he doesn't know everything and he was expressing doubts about the severity and child trafficking numbers based on his experience, which was clearly limited. His comments reveal that he and also OUR were working from a place of inexperience and ignorance. There are legitimate anti-human trafficking non-profits working on the front lines who Tim Ballard and OUR could have sought out to learn how to properly conduct undercover ops and gather intel. Their tactics reveal they were naive and ignorant. And they were focused on undercover 'sting' operations which were sensationalistic which helps raise funds, but they were not best practice and that is why anti-trafficking groups criticized them.

On page 7, Tim Ballard received total compensation of $546,458 and worked an average 40 hour week. On Schedule L, Part IV, (pg. 67) Mark Blake, Tim Ballard's brother-in-law and board member, received $278,684, Tim Ballard's wife, Katherine, received $118,283 and their child, Blain Ballard, received $47,918. Since they were no longer doing operations but supposedly sending funds to those who did and provided aftercare support (Schedule F shows six figure wire transfers to entities all over the world for "aftercare"), why the high salaries?

First, thank you for your efforts to save children. Two, thank you for sharing your version and perspective of the situation with Tim and OUR. Third, prior to this podcast, I wish you would have taken a moment to outline your desired topics, taken a step back and waited 24 hours, revise your outline accordingly, sought out feedback from trusted council then moved forward. I would suggest taking this podcast down and revising it. You are correct that the more it is verified and confirmed that you did specific ops, those people may come knocking (I pray that does not happen). The only time you should speak of these matters is when under oath in court or with the same people that signed the same NDA(assuming you signed a NDA). Security for you and your family should be a priority. Why you would continue to mention the names of so many people is bewildering. Do you not care for their safety? I pray you have not brought any harm to others because of your “feelings” to be transparent. Real Men have integrity, honor and would never put families at risk just for views and subscribers. It could be said “Your character is reflected in this podcast” or “This podcast is not a reflection of the your Character, acknowledge and apologize for it”. I have a real life story which your truth applies to … this stuff happens ALL too often and I cannot see it as anything but gross, sickening apathy:
I was raised in a very dysfunctional, abusive environment. (I’m recovered from a majority of the traumas I experienced, I’m a productive citizen, respectful of law, morals and of others. I wanted to note this because I’m not looking for pity here 👍)
Here’s the problem:
AFTER I was an adult, it’s SHOCKING how many people (who were both childhood acquaintances and adults when I was a child) that have literally approached me and mindlessly asked, “We’re you abused when you were a kid?”
Caught off guard, I’d give some minimal affirmative response.
And they would respond with, “I kinda thought there were some bad things going on”.
**Now … What in the world am I even supposed to do with that?!?
I almost want to grill them - “WHY didn’t you help me?!?”
At the same time, I wanted to rip into them and ask why they were even telling me this now? I mean, am I supposed to count them as some kind of hero because though they didn’t do or say anything to help, HEY, at LEAST they were aware of my nightmare situation 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
It gets worse, even!! There have been adults (The literally PARENTS of childhood acquaintances that then tried to groom me to become part of their perverted, multi participant sex parties once they had confirmed I had been abused as a kid 🤮🤮🤮

Thank you for being honest I was just listening to an audio radio broadcast with his wife and it sounds like she’s trying to save the dynasty or she’s completely brainwashed. There kids having to go through all this is tragic.
1. Children who are sexually abused in their homes need support too but it's too horrific for people to face or want to admit it. One out of every four girls outside of the church, and one out of ten in the church are sexually abused, and the boys statistics are horrible too. Not even too many therapists know how to help the individual because once they hear what happened to the child, they can't face the realities, especially in the case of parent/child incest. And, very often it is hard for any ecclesiastical leader to being able to face the realities if they don't have therapist level training. It's just too ugly for the mortal mind to handle and too easy to sweep under the rug in the unfortunate act of denial in order to bring that mortal mind back to order.
2. I can not really tell if this testimonial is completely legit until we have more much information and I always get my C- PTSD antennas always go up when someone says, "I'm just being honest" a lot, like their trying to convince you of their honesty, but I'll for now assume he's sincerely trying to let us know more truth is coming out, so I'll wait for that. Patience prevails while we wait for the truths of many bazarro things happening right now.
3. This morning, I read President Nelson's talk on being a Peacemaker. I'm assuming he didn't have anything to do with the statement that Doug Anderson gave Vice, but in all cases, his talk applies, and maybe the ideals in the talk are harder to reach than to be discussed, but all parties can heal these problems by application of the principles in the talk. His other talk from last conference applies as far as Jesus always being the answer. These talks finally gave the viewpoint I needed on how to order my mind as I show interested in following this story.
4. In my life, I'm learning that you know if someone is a narcissist by observing their sincerity overtime. The sincere ones are safe. The insincere ones have designs on others.

I am a Mom that lost my child because he was being CSA in his fathers home for 5 years! They lied in court when my boy was only 9 y/o the PHD forensic interviewer was an idiot. This boy had pulled his eyebrows out, said he was frightened and had thrown up! His father apparently silenced him and told him NOT to tell his Mother. I am a high school teacher and now added Crime Victims advocacy so that I can Educate people on exactly what you are talking about. Victims can’t talk about it. My son could never tell me - his doctors had too. He could not get over it. The shame and self blame does NOT belong to a victim! While Jimmy is certainly brave to have come out & denounce Ballard (proud of him for doing so) i couldn’t help but notice some issues he seems oblivious to that also prove just how incompetent most of these guys & tim Ballard truly were and are. First, he can’t act like he was so cut off guard by Ballard’s lack of integrity esp when he was hired to join this team without any actual training. While he seems offended that VICE called him “some real estate guy,” his offense at it is silly esp because by his own admission, he didn’t know what the hell he was doing and is obvious he never received special training to conduct these kinds of rescue operations. The fact that he said Paul Hutchinson said he did what he had to do to the woman (whom many believe was underage and are only saying she was an adult because it would mean facing charges for assaulting a minor) whom Paul touched is troubling and proves how little they understand of the do’s and dont’s of interventions. As a retired FBI agent said, it doesn’t matter what the circumstances are… as an undercover agent, you can NEVER touch a potential victim regardless of the circumstances. Only trained special agents would know what to do to keep themselves from assaulting a female worker because they’ve been trained how to think on their feet. The “well this had to happen because we would have gotten killed” excuse isn’t valid because any special agent who assault a woman even if he is trying to save his life will be charged with assault & fired. That’s why it is so important to have actual trained agents doing this work rather than untrained amateurs who get off on playing heroes to fulfill their own fantasies & illusions of grandeur. Jimmy i think had good intentions, but as my friend in the anti trafficking movement says, “well-intentioned efforts will perpetuate harmful stereotypes of Westerns coming to other countries to help well actually burning out long term teams, reinforce existing power imbalances, or even lead to misguided interventions.” Those were her exact words to me. Ppl like Jimmy need not only expose and be honest about ppl like Tim Ballard, they need to tell ppl to learn the lesson and to not do what he did. Most importantly, ppl need to respect the work of actual advocates who day in and day out are doing what they can to help victims and survivors while fighting to dismantle misinformation. This isn’t a battle for everyone to partake in and ppl need to stop wishing they could play heroes. This is the real world & misinformation along with the ignorant actions of well intentioned individuals have the ability to cause irreparable damage

Thanks Jimmy this helps put this all into perspective. Life is grey. I believe Tim was initially good and still had good intentions but slowly let ego get in the way and justified slowly until he crossed the line if true.

Also, I think your audience would love to hear you explore the topic of the sexual abuse that’s rampant all around you in your home neighborhood, city, state, & country and why you think OUR feels like the most effective work they can do to rescue children, is in a foreign land where they have no jurisdiction or authority, rather than root out the evil in their own backyards.

Thanks for sharing so honestly. This whole thing is very disturbing, but you mentioned that you heard that soneone is saying that profiling this evil isn't causing it to decrease, but to increase. Makes me wonder if even people with good intentions, such as Tim, get sucked in by the power of suggestion and eventually become the very thing they hate? Looks like there's a real psychology around this that should also be looked into, not to make excuses for people who do get sucked into the evil. But, as you said, two things can be true at the same time. Seems too that no one should attempt to get involved in this work if they haven't first dealt with their own "stuff." Also curious to know what the "right" way to do this work is? Good to know that there's always a better way. Maybe you'll go back to it some day, as you seem to be very in touch with your own psychology and gave the integrity and compassion needed. I'd like to hear real, professionally trained individuals working with trafficed individuals to critique OUR. Sounds like new victims were being created. A couple months ago I was able to befriend a bodyguard of Tim Ballard’s and he was defending Tim still at the time even though Tim has the Freemason tie on in his August 9 post 2022 from Argentina, and I was able to show him that and he was able to look at his own photographs and videos, because he is literally standing next to Tim in the picture, and he finally came back and confirmed that he had been duped and lied to, and he was horrified to know that he was part of the exact situations as you just talked about.
Thank you...actually did not know that there was any public stuff going on. This confirmed my gut feeling since I had looked at alternative trafficking organizations to donate to after pulling up their financials and seeing over 3 million in payroll and purchases going to about 6 folks including Tim and his wife. It almost looked like the nonprofit was set up to create wealth for his family.
The 27 million slaves being trafficked are government, UN, and other world organizations numbers. But you think it’s OUR’s Tim’s doing that trafficking is up? Really? And those numbers are too large right? You know better? The guy who is smarter than everyone else….. and they have the big egos right?

I am confused. You said you never saw Tim do anything illegal or that would compromise his morals. Yet you say you know for a fact that he had affairs. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, that's very much against his morals. Which is it?
