My grandma worked at a urology clinic and all the stories of curvier people coming in without shame was honestly kinda nice to hear (the fact they weren't so self concious despite how society probably treated them) but there were a lot of clients that would come in knowing they were getting their nether regions checked and they couldn't so much as wash up first. Some people really don't care what y'all think. A blessing for them but a curse for us at times lol
@@alysegaul5517 I am curvier and I hate having to get undressed and put on a gown. I purposely have mostly female doctors. But for instance going to the OB/GYN. My female OB/GYN is way too heavy handed.
Having worked in healthcare, I’m glad he has a sense of humor. It really can be needed, not just for yourself, but for your staff after some of the things you experience/witness.

I've definitely just taken my shirt off, but left my bra on, for a skin check. I would never go completely nude, but I'm not putting a gown on if I'm allowed to keep underwear on. I've worked in health care...a body is a body.

Yup. They do. They say oh I don’t mind, and I say yes, but the patients may that walk by when the doors opened. They get it.

@@leacotaco every clinic I’ve been to has a curtain to pull around the bed, the Dr doesn’t go and stand in the corridor lol. Either way, privacy should be paramount, no chance of anyone seeing anything from outside the room. Maybe it’s different where you are.

Have you ever tried weighing yourself with and without clothing and shoes? 2-3 lb difference. That difference can mean if they give you more of a dose of a certain medication i.e. insulin. Having an accurate weight measurement is crucial for certain medications.
For real, I was a nutritional counselor and the amount of people that undress fully is wild.
I recommend having a weigh in outfit so it is a constant.
@@tamarahigbee2-3 lbs isn't moving a medicinal dose enough to matter unless you are on the edge of a range and your provider would make that move if it was warranted.

As a former Licensed Massage Therapist in my 20's (working in a Chiropractic office), I would walk in to patients naked laying on the table OVER the sheet. Uumm no, try again! This is one of the reasons I just couldn't do it anymore.
This is my biggest fear preparing to go into that field. I’ve worked as a receptionist and had creepy men over the phone compliment my voice and ask if I’d be doing their examination. I’d go on break before their appointments so I didn’t have to meet them. Or them caressing my hand during a cash exchange. I can’t imagine how they’ll behave in an environment where nudity is permitted. I hope he’s ready to get maced while he’s butt naked😅

Glad you had a female doctor with you I’m 18 but I still with my old pediatrician lol because of my allergies injections and I don’t trust no one with my injections but only her but as I was their at the clinic for a doctors appointment I’ve notice their were no female doctors their the only females were the two nurses who help signing patients in and I over heard one guy said “ I feel uncomfortable doing a check up on a 17 year old girl ” and to me that was very highly weird your a doctor so why you think it’s weird or uncomfortable and a few of the other doctors refused seeing most patients that were 16 and up which was very weird the only male doctor that wasn’t werid and very nice he looked around his 20s and he is the only male doctor I’m comfortable with he also being try to push boundaries or anything he made sure I’m was comfortable and he try making me laugh so I can feel better I only had a check up on my belly button tho but the other doctors just look very umm yeah

In Germany gowns are quite uncommon. Some US opinions are really weird imo
Same in Czech Republic, I don't understand why someone should cover themselves in front of a doctor who is supposed to do an examination, doctors here don't care.
ugh i have a derm exam in 2 days and im fkin dreaking it lol well not only cause i am pretty sure i have cancer based on my past spots but now i have it on private parts so you know thatll be fun LOL im not modest at all but it still sucks like id rather not be nude with a stranger but it is what it is lol its like when i had a prostate exam when i was 18 i just kept cracking jokes and the dr was hilarious it made the entire thing less stressful but now im depressed and scared so idk if im going to handle the humility so easily

I thought it was because no one has healthcare access in America but I guess it could be because people would rather die insecure than get help.
Honestly, onetime I went to a new gynecologist for an appointment. They did not give me a robe to change into for half an hour after telling me to undress to my comfort level. So I waited, fully undressed for some malicious compliance. They were shocked when they opened the door to say hello and that I still hadn't been given a gown.

One time a nurse called for a 2nd and 3rd opinion during a testicular exam.
It felt like a comedy scene, but was very real, and rather uncomfortable.
Thankfully nothing was wrong, but I didn’t expect to be fondled by two nurses and a doctor that day. 😂
