What a player. Unbelievable.
Yeah, can't wait Euroleague.
Now all he has to do is to carry this level of confidence to the NBA and he'll be an all star level player.
Won't be surprised if Lauri, Sexton and THT can make some noise for the Jazz next season. They are all young players with potential to take a huge leap.
@@lphjustin Sexton & Lauri will have a good season, scoring wise. THT will be utter garbage as he has been. But Walker Kessler, for some reason I think he'll have a All-Rookie caliber season.
@@lphjustin Too bad they traded Mitchel though

New video about Markkanen confirmed
Just shows how much the right environment and and a good amount of confidence can do for you.
He has the tools to convert that to the NBA.
But let's be in the moment first and appreciate this fantastic performance
he was already a borderline all-star, wasn't he (I mean 'so close but so far' - he was 'in the wide discussion') - wasnt he?
He has the chance to take a HUGE leap this season since he will have a new environment in Utah and he could possibly be the first option on that team.
@@maciejguzek3442 He wasn't a borderline All-Star. He falls in the same category of say Michael Porter Jr. Starter caliber player, but not All-Star caliber yet. I expect for him to take a leap with the Jazz, but they wont make the Playoffs or anything.
@@timeflies313 Sexton will be the 1st option, because as far as Sexton is concerned, he's the only option. lol
@@09lowkey idk. From Cavs to Utah is a massive blindsided dick in the ass for Markkanen but with play-ins I think playoffs are possible even for Utah
This was a top Giannis-level performance! The aggressiveness, the drives, the dunks... plus the long range! I wonder if Utah got the best part of the trade...
Yeah he went absolutely nuts!!! He made every shot!
Run and dunk isn't even close to Lauri in terms of shooting
@@aishe2540 ofcourse giannis is far far way better than him
no they do not. he's injury prone. he has potential to put up 30 points game maybe twice a season.
@@aishe2540 run and dunk has two MVP, DPOY and a ring among other things. So please b*ch have a little respect
Finland made big progress, its not only Lauri but entire team plays good basketball. I was surprised when our polish team got easiliy defeated by Suomi in group phase.
referees made the progress, not the Fins, with all respect from Lithuania, you are too naive.
@@copy2886 Against Poland they played well and they deserved for win. I haven’t seen game against Croatia (only shorts) so i can not say anything about referees.

He's so explosive for his size. He has real athleticism. Keeps his head up and arms above his head when driving and catching to dunk or shoot. Seems to have speed and a low center of gravity along with a muscular frame that helps him have a strong game with less injury... Talent level speaks for itself. Wishing him a step up at least one season in the NBA where he can prove himself a 20-10 guy in the league..
Everybody talks about Luka, Jokić and Giannis.
But here is also Lauri. Do not sleep on him.
Can finns surprise everybody? Not imposible at all.
Congrats from Slovenia!!
he will be forgotten soon after game with the trach team of Spain. TV audience this is what wins the games in FIBA

His current contract is looking so cheap right now. He's still young and he's still got a lot of untapped potential. Luckily he's in a great situation in Utah, he's definitely gonna get more touches and with this confidence boost he's getting in this tournament, he's going to elevate his game this season.
With no Donovan Mitchell and no Gobert, Marrkanen will get more shots and will have the opportunity to grow his game immensely 💪
Most Improved Player candidate #1 even before season starts
Sexton markinnenen duo would be fire
@@DaddyDubs Plus Fonteccio and vanderblit, as a Jazz fan i'm not sure we can tank hard if we get those guys minutes, and I like that.
They just need to get rid of clarkson , conley and bagdonovic and it will be a new breed of jazz
Nobody gonna talk about Markannen making a shot with 0.1 on the clock? That has to be a record.
King in the North!! Winter is coming!!!
And is winter ever approaching for Western Europe!
I just want to state a very obvious thing. European style basketball is true form of this sport - interesting, team based, thrilling. Sometimes NBA looks just like a globetrotters game...
So much more movement. I think most of the globetrotting style from the NBA comes from these teams trying too hard to create an identity. Whereas European basketball lets the game flow and only focuses on fundamentals.
Warriors play European-style, Spurs always played European style... ball movement, selflessness
Wait, I didnt know that Giannis got a twin in Finland. WP Lauri!
Lauri is a beast!
Hyvä Lauri 🇫🇮💪🏻👏🏻 Ihan älytöntä, huikeeta 43 pinnaa! Antaa palaa, LauriShow 🔥🇫🇮
Dude we need this Lauri version in the NBA
Honestly, I feel like this is the absolute crown jewel amongst a flawless offensive skillset. EVERYTHING is there. So smooth, so oiled, everything is so fundamentally perfect here. I get that he’s 7 foot tall and all, but my goodness, if you ever want to know what a perfect offensive game built on fundamentals looks like, this is it.
He was the third best player of cavs last season who nobody expected anything.. His role will be even bigger in Utah.. He has so much potential.. I would not be suprised if he is All-Star next season.

In this game he is the combination of Dirk+Giannis…
I admired this man! He's on fire very talented 7ftooter

Markkanen Beast Mode! 💪🔥
Hopefully he's starting to get the respect he deserves after this tournament in the NBA.
He hasn't proven anything in the NBA to garner that kind of respect. We all know he 'can' be a star, but he hasn't proven it yet, consistently. I think he'll do well on the Jazz tho. He'll avg something like ~23, 9, 4 but wont make the All-Star team because either they're not good enough or Sexton has better numbers.

@@Star-pl1xs You're free to disagree.
Does not really get to exploit his strenghts in NBA, which is sad. The teams have been wasting a big portion of his potential. Ball hungry mediocre points are often playing their own heroball performances in expence of the team play.
Marcanen is probably the best european player from the new generation,i think he can be both nba mvp and super star one day like giannis ...
Wow number 23 was fitting indeed and the other team had about 3 nba players on their roster
This guy is in a perfect situation in utah. A team going full rebuild will give him the freedom to be himself.
You said it! And the new young coach seems to be as talented as Lauri, too!
Amazing game from markanen. I am supporting finland now xD
OH WOW! So amazing! Excited to see this good of a performance! Respect and excitement for Markkanen to be this high level of a player! Greetings from Turkey! Btw I think the cavs just seem to have lost an amazing opportunity. He was really really decent and I didnt like that he had to go away from cavs. I mean I'm not a cavs fan but he deserved to stay on this young and energetic team. With jazz he may need to tank a lot now that theyre rebuilding. At least he will have a place to become even better with more playtime.
I agree.. But.. what is going on on Markkanen's Utah Jazz? After first two games Jazz has beaten two of the strongest teams on NBA 2022-2023 i.e. Denver Nuggets by more than 20 points and Michigan Timberwolfs after trailing 17 points. Wow!
Total domination!
An excellent player!
Well, I'm now happy Croatia intentionally/tactically missed a freethrow in group phase and ended up getting Finland as their opponent, since it seems like Mulaomerovic did not find any tools from his toolbox to stop Markkanen. Exciting game nevertheless.
Everyone tries to find an easier route. It's normal. Stop making a big deal out of it.
@@unknownorigin8446 I'm not criticizing them, quite the opposite, as I said, I'm happy of their decision.
@@unknownorigin8446 how tf is Finland easier than Poland though lmao

lauri is gonna carry this team to the semis
Possible, Spain is quite weak this year
No, way, you can be strong as LT FIBA refs will crush you in the game with Spain, you have no chance, Croatia is a smaller nation so FIBA favored you Finland, but with Spain you'll be doomed they have much more tv audience (it means money), they will advance...

@@nickeh8083 Bulls was really bad for Lauri in the end, with all the coaching changes. If they wanted to tank should have stayed with Hoiberg for couple of more seasons as he at least used Lauri much more efficiently than idiot Boylen.
@SmhAtYall00 c'mon bro, the entire fucking team hate boylen for a reason. Lauri was a good sharpshooter in his rookie year. When, Boylen is there he just told him to grab the fucking rebound and no call/play for him smh
Amazing!
If you know a thing o two about the game, you can't help but being totally stunned by the off-the-chart bb IQ this guy showed. Seriously, the most incredible thing is not his shot, nor his point-guard-level ball-handling. No, It is his of-the-ball movement that is something different. Oh, and his athleticism and quickness are really, really amazing too.
Incredibile partita , dominata
Ainge with another heist. Dude is still young and could be a viable first option for a rebuilding team, then the Jazz still have those picks. Future is bright

Bruh 5:25 😳Where is this confidence in the NBA?? ... the next play 5:56 🤔who is this man???
Check out Feb. 2019 highlights... Before the following full season of Boylen coaching Bulls. Markkanen was beaten down for that man and injuries and bad ideas of bulking up. He became slow and lumbering and was told to play thru injuries. He was making clownish dunk attempts and might miss several in a row at that dark era. That was a nightmare. Thank god its over. This is the man he was about to be 2 seasons ago if Bulls didnt fuck shit up.
MVP
I'm a Bulls fan, but I couldn't believe him more back then. I always believed he knew how to play and now I'm glad he found his game again.
He had game it is just competition all nba player are great it 8s just competition and efficiency

Having the green light in Utah, he's gonna ball out this season!
Always been a fan of dude! Cool to see him pop off
I remember he looked like the Bulls best player in his rookie year even better than LaVine.... then came Boylen who may genuinely be the worst coach I've ever seen in my life and Lauri's been declining ever since. Hopefully he finds some form and gets back to that level in the NBA...
Nope lavine much more efficient bro
That’s false. Better than lavine is just a lie.
@Matias Raekkoenen hell no... You're out of your damn mind
Mann I feel you. Above all else, seeing Lauri decline under Boylen was just painful. I'm glad we (Bulls) bouncing back, Lavine & Derozan stepping up. But man I would have loved to see Lauri excel in a Bulls uniform
@@jonvicmamon2529 you dont even know what boylen the coached wanted lmao, he got no play called on him told him to just get the rebound.

Impressive highlights!
Finland fans get up to date on the Utah Jazz! He going to be a star and be there awhile.
If the rumors are true lauri still might have something on his contract and will be traded to contender team for next sesson
Utah jazz has not knowledged him at all in social media either after the trade, so quite possible lauri will not end up in utah. Lets see!
Amazingly
Гениальный игрок!
adding a step back jumper is a great move for lauri, he needs to use it more often in the nba for him to create space for his shots. he has potential but it all depends on lauri's mindset cuz right now lauri is a team player doing what role his coach gave him.
Now he can use it more. After another good summer he has improved fitness so he can go for the lower stance. His handles seems a it tighter too so i think he can do tjese against average NBA defenders. Good defenders might still be a bit too much

One of the dark horses. Well done. LTU down, now Croatia. Insane
BEAST!
Finland is looking strong right now!
Lauris problem in the NBA has been that he doesn't have the ego of an all-star player. He definitely is capable to similar sort of plays in the NBA as well and could be easily averaging +20 points on average per season. He's firstly a team player and a nice guy. In Europe the game is more team orientated and in North America it's about individuals and stars. He needs to be more bold in the NBA as well. I hope that coaches would see this potential that he has and use him more. There was an interview on Fi tv this spring and he said that it was a hard for him to getting adjusted to NBAs "macho culture" and egoistic style of playing. He needs to stop being nice and be more confident. Also one problem that he has had is that he has had a lot of smaller injuries, which were not reported that much. He was capable to play in Chicago most of the times, but he also played while being injured. It made him to be inconsistent. So he's unfortunately a bit injury prone. Luckily he hasn't had any bigger injuries so far. I don't know what's the role in all this that he is vegan. I hope he gets all the needed nutrients.
Markkanen was on fire that they couldn't slow him down! 🔥
Lauri was absolutely on fire🔥🔥🔥

Goodbye Cleveland Cavaliers you didn't want to keep Lauri and Cavs coach just came week before this tournament to visit Finland's national team and Lauri Markkanen for upcoming NBA season.
They wanted to keep him but they had to trade him to make the money work. Plus to get Donovan you needed to trade some talent sadly
22-23 will be breakthrough season for him
Great player. The sky is the limit.
I think the talent is there and the work ethic is there. He just comes across too me like to nice of a guy when he should demand the ball more at least from what I've seen in the NBA.
You don't let someone relegate you to just shooting , with all the talent that he has. It's a mentality issue I think he can play like this because hes around his country men.
Hopefully the coach for Utah and the organization is watching this. The ball needs to be his hands alot because he can do a lot with it. But he has to have the confidence and demand the ball , cause hes going to be playing with someone who is ball dominant in sexton.
If you aren't able to demand it from him and just get relegated again to being just a shooter. Then lauri will never reach his potential.
Exactly! This is precisely his problem. Coaches should realize this. But it's also about the other players. If he is on a team where there are big egos, he's probably not going to reach to his full potential.
Way to go Lauri. Danny A. knew what he got to Utah Jazz from Clevland. What a super kid. 43/9.
