Another sunrise and your piping. I've been a drummer in pipe bands since 1972, at 76 years old I've been winding it down. You have given me the will and more life to continue. Thank you for strengthening my heart. I appreciate it it.
just wanted to add to my comment a month ago, that I have listened to numerous other top pipers play this and your pipe is the best sounding and your interpretation of the tune brings it alive.....thanks again
Wow. That's such a wonderful compliment. I am nearly speak less. I send you a sincere gratitude. It means a lot for me to get such feedback. Thank you for that.
Early this morning I watched a desert sunrise. There were puffy dark grey clouds with flame orange underneath, and listened to you playing this piece. I was quite moved. I shall do it again tomorrow. Thank you.
I'm sure you are aware that on the anniversary of the battle of Killicrankie there is a big gathering of pipers on the battle field. I was at one 26 years ago.
Oh my!!!!! This is the the first piobrached I ever heard and it was on CD.You played it perfectly and brought tears to my eyes! Thanks! I play the pipes but Im a novice. Its hard not to play without walking around or marching 😂
Great piping. Thank you for letting us enjoy it. There are a couple of background tales associated with this tune, both equally chilling and worth some research.
Well done!! This tune inspired me to start the pipes years ago. I had never heard of piobaireachd until I stumbled onto this one. It’s always brought peace to my worries.
This tune was my introduction to Piobaireachd too. I found it on a random bagpipe CD somewhere and asked my bagpipe teacher.... what the hell is this? And he explained it to me and gave me the sheet music. I lost interest in band music after that.
Hi Maggie, as a fellow piobaireachd player from Scotland, this was a great performance to listen to. I hope you received positive comments from the judge. I 'm off to look out the music - thanks for the inspiration on this tune. Well done again!
@@pipenbeatmusic4603 A well deserved result👍🏻 I’ll watch out for your name in future. I played some grade 2 competitions but found competition a bit daunting at that time, so well done you again! Oh, and thank you for your personal reply 🙏🏻
@@pipenbeatmusic4603 My father spent much of his spare time supporting young pipers. He wasn't sexist in this and trained many women pipers, some of whom have gone on to lead award-winning pipe bands. He would have loved what you're doing.
Beautifully played…I want to say in particular I really liked the way you played the doubling of the first variation. The way Jimmie MacIntosh taught me is different but to be honest I prefer your presentation.
Very nice and well paced Maggie. I used to play this for competition when I was 18, but I’ll have this up again for my lists for next year when I compete in Scotland. Well done😊😊
Thank you. Beautifully played. I started learning the pipes at 42yo. and as expected, am slow of finger. This was the first Piobaireachd I ever learned. I so wish that I could play it like you. It was an inspirational performance. Fabulous. Thanks again.
Deeply thanks for your heartwarming words. I worked hard on it (specially the last variation). It's absolutely my favorite piob because of the colorful variations

Thanks for being one of the brave ones and letting your online comp vids go public, really awesome to have people like you to reference stuff like Piobaireachd from. Think of how hard it was 20 years ago to get recordings like this. Thanks again and hope you got a prize for this. Cheers from Canada!

Really enjoyed this, I’ve been learning the pipes now for six months. The whole performance here is brilliant to watch, the playing and slow walking steps convey real expression. Is the walking part of this performance very common in pibroch? Thanks for sharing your music.
Thank you and glad that you enjoyed it! Yes, the walking through this kind of music is common but everyone has his own stile. Kindly regarding from Austria, Maggie

Desperate battle of the birds
