You have GOT to SEE the Money Game series. But, part 3 specifically. His growth over the last 2 years is AMAZING. Yt doesn't really like links to be posted. I've had comments removed because of it. Animal Flow is incredible and also has a live acoustic version. The same goes for Murderer. MG3, is one of his most recent MASTERPIECES. It is best to see them in order to grasp the entire concept, though. Really looking forward to seeing what direction you choose next.
Great reaction! There are so many aspects to his work/art just as you said - the choice of locations for both visual impact and audio effect, lighting, costumes, movements, facial expressions, imagery (pig head, bloody throat), oh and not forgetting the music, lyrics and performance! On top of all this he can do amazing live performances as well! Other recommendations - The money game trilogy (Part 1, Part 2 Lyric video and part 3), Suicide (obviously a hard hitting song but amazing and different visual presentation), Bitter sweet symphony (Ren's love song to Britain), How to be me (live) with Chinchilla (spine tingling!). I say artist because he is a multifaceted diamond! From singing (all styles) to rapping (bars/flows/schemes for days), Bardcore (story telling) beatbox, makes his own beats, scatting and a multi instrumentalist (guitars, bass, drums, melodica and more). I always go back to Hi Ren where he says how he just wants to connect with people through his music & that he might leave a bit of a legacy. Little did he know. As someone that’s had a slew of chronic medical issues, this song always kicks me in the gut, in the best way possible. I’m glad i caught the notification on this, always good to see a reaction from you! There aren’t any wrong songs, but I’d suggest Money Game 1, 2, 3 in order and plan to set aside some time. There’s a lot to unpack visually, sonically and writing.
This! Part 3 is simply a masterpiece and it would be nice to have a Chase reaction.. it's actually pretty understandable and enjoyable as a "lone piece", even though part 1/2 makes you feel more at home with his message and meaning
Even if Ren's music is not in your wheelhouse, you can appreciate it so much because of his true craftsmanship as a musician. All of his music is complex and artistic and it just works for whatever he's doing. Please do all 3 Money Games!!! Keep in mind that 1 and 3 are both one-take videos!
Ren is a one in a million with his 'bardcore' music. Pure creativity in everything he does. You should react to the Money game trilogy (Especially part 3 is mind-blowing) or The tale of Jenny & Screech trilogy. You won't be dissapointed. Great reaction btw!
Every single time Ren drops a song it's a different layer, a different level, a different piece of (as you said) art. I second his live version of How to be Me and will add an earlier collaboration with Sam Tompkins; Blind Eyed (the MC session). You'll see a very different Ren. Then for soul crushing, do Crutch which was during a time when his condition was very close to critical. Follow that with Patience.
Wonderful to have you back on a Ren reaction. The album is about half deeper, darker, more serious tracks, and half flexing, fun songs. Please consider the first song on the album "Seven Sins", for a song and "Money Game 3 for another 9 minute art piece. There's also a cool acapella rap song "Loco" where Ren does the beat and "instrumentation" with his voice. "Hunger" is pure rap, more mainstream. Thanks for this video, sir!

As always, I really enjoy listening to your reaction and hearing your thoughts about an artist and their song. That being said, I am just not a fan of Ren. Not saying he is not good at what he does, I just think it comes down to why I, personally, listen to music. I deal with chronic health issues that restrict my life and will only get worse. For me, I listen to music to lift me up and make me feel better, happier to help me forget my struggles with my health and the pain that I go through, even for a moment. His music doesn't do that for me, if anything, it brings me down. Music is a personal experience and this is my personal feelings, nothing more and not a knock against his skill/talent. Thanks Chase, you, as always help me appreciate music, even when I do not personally enjoy it.
You have to do what works for you obviously. However for someone like me that never knew there was a voice for what I've been going through, Ren resonates soooo much, listening to his 'fans' a whole community has come together with a shared pain we didn't know others had. It’s an older song from before he was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. It is heart wrenching and absolutely stunning. Plus I think you will really appreciate the instrumentation in that one.
I loved your explanation on how Electric Callboy"s music works and every of your Ren reaction is a treasure trove. You will love Ren's uplifting and fun songs too! And now that Harry Mack freestyled for Ren I'd love to hear your insights on how a studied jazz drummer, after 20 years of practicing freestyling, is able to perform a 90 minute fully freestyled live concert. Although you may have to quit your job to dive into the rabbit hole that is Harry Mack because he's simply the goat of off the top freestyling and the master of flow state. :) Can't wait for your next music reaction!

It's art, by any metric. 1 is very deep and a hugely socially important discussion but a very conceptual video. 2 is a lyric video. 3 is theatre. You can watch them out of order as each tackles a different aspect of the Money Game.
Seven Sins is the 1st track and he says it sets up and summarizes the album and is HIS favorite track. It was the last song written. A gut wrenching song of when he fell into psychosis.

After that just do either the order of the album or go back to Hi Ren and see what was released afterwards and go from there. Money Game (esp. Pt. 3) is going to impress you I guarantee it but I am really interested to see what you say to his other hip hop tracks. They are all so different and all so good.
