I was a young Lad when these were on the road. They are such a classy muscle car but honestly the 67 fastback MUSTANG looked SO COOL they kind of over shadowed the CAMARO'S a bit. My first car was a 67 Chev Impala....the 67 Chev lineup had great build quality and nice interiors Thanks for the memory Lou..

Triple Blue 375hp SS RS Convertible. If having a L78 convertible isn't rare enough, but a Blue Top and luggage rack too!
    Amazing!

That car doesn't quite look like Marina Blue or Nantucket blue. Is it the lighting, that makes it look different.

Question, why does everyone now say RSSS when it's a Super Sport with Rally Sport options SSRS.

I have been into Camaro’s for over 30 years and they have always been called an RS/SS. It wasn’t until the 5th gen Camaro cam about that it was referred to as an SS or super sport with RS trim.
Also, the Camaro was never officially called a Super Sport by General Motors because back then, in order to call a Chevrolet a Super Sport, the car had to endure 1000 hours of endurance testing and be a full framed car, and generally speaking, the brass did not care much for the car prior to its launch as they did not anticipate how well it would be received.
It wasn’t until the name Panther was dropped and project XP-836 was officially called a Camaro and trim lines were assigned that they decided to allow the car to have an SS package assigned, which in 1966 was RPO Z27, or more commonly an SS-350. And, up until late December, the brass at GM would not allow the car to come with a big block engine due to the cubic inch per weight rule. That thankfully was repealed and the car was assigned both the L35 and L78 396 engine.
The Rally Sport was a very popular option that the design team had a lot of fun playing with and went through many iterations before they settled on what the car ended up with. One iteration even included a full grill end to end with the headlights behind the grill, but I believe that version was scrapped because they could not get it to pass DOT inspection. Meh, now I’m rambling.
