Most of the cards Leonhart took in were donated to him so he did not care how much he got. He is toxic for the community.
As I don’t disagree. The principle still applies about the value and offerings made to him at GameStop
"Toxic for the community" is an understatement. The guy is the absolute worst example of a man child. I showed a friend of mine (who is a psychotherapist, btw) a couple clips from his videos and she said he has what appears to be "severe arrested development" - for lack of a better term - and probably thinks he's a teenager still. Then we jokingly wondered if his house looks like Pee-wee Herman's. Yeah, the dude is creepy as hell.
Leonharts video was actually rather well for this. It showed the entire process with a worker who didn't know what they were doing. Showed how the system chooses it's buy amount. And then refused to sell the cards that were not that worth it and showed what the prices were after and compared it to their retail value.
So I am not sure how you could objectively fault that specific video. Everything else? Sure.
All you nerds do is complain
@@LUMBEEPHENOM2012 I know!
If you're a Pokemon card collector/player/etc., please do not sell your cards to Gamestop. They are not part of any community. They are a massive publicly traded corporation that is ripping you off. Support your local LGS. Most of them are struggling and they are small business owners that are dealing with competition from various online stores and scammers such as Gamestop.
If we do not sell to them, they have no inventory.
Most LGS around me in a top 15 large community in the us, they don’t even accept slabs!!! Most of these places deal in raw cards anyway!!
Screw the local LGS
The game scalper became a card scalper too 😮
You gunna be at 500 subs by the end of June- WILD bro - keep it up
I’m hoping so!
Thanks! 😬
Gamestop has always been a rip-off. It'll only get worse until you open your shop and put them out of business!!!!
😉 That’s the idea! LOL!
Wants wrong with inflated prices? You don’t think people at LCS & Card Shows don’t mark their prices up 😂
That's a good point. In all honesty, I don't mark my prices up at card shows I vend at. I believe in buy low and sell fast, so I sell at 5-10% below market. Bigger cards a little closer to that 5%.
It's strange because I truly believe GameStop is in a unique and prime position in the market to be a big deal, but they keep dropping the ball by handling things poorly. I think they really need to hire on more people who are very familiar with the space and let them handle all of the structuring. It feels like GameStop has decent ideas but then the handling is always done without passion, so it all ends up coming off as just a cash grab rather than an actual attempt to be a good outlet for the community/fanbase they're targeting.
This! Yes!
GameStop could actually be a good thing for the community and for local card shops IF they did it right. But because they are floundering, they see $$ versus the real reason for the hobby, the community!!
Thank you for your comment!
Gs does not care about the community or its customers. I’ll be closing my pro membership because of the nonsense they’ve been doing and I don’t shop with them anymore anyways and I definitely don’t sell/trade in with them.
@@kevinsito0801proof?
I mean they do an alright job with buying... but they are charging insane amounts to sell. They are going to go out of business just for not being able to sell all the crap they bought lmao
🤣
Great video! The GameStop adventure is going to be interesting on how it plays out that’s for sure.
Would you order a card from them to see if its accurate and how they ship it?
Yeah… probably not.
@@TheCardFatherTCG xD
I'm a reseller and I buy at 65-75%, trades at 80%
This is outrages
I’m about the same with even trade credit on top for sealed product.
@TheCardFatherTCG It's just the right thing to do, fair value on peoples cards and collection. I get it, they have bills to pay but what gamestop is doing isn't right. They aren't here for the collectors
My moto
"Collector for collectors"
@@Poke_Monix I’m with you bro!
I make money, they make money, the hobby grows, people are treated with respect and morals/ethics are priority.
I’d rather make 10% margins and know that people trust me as a content creator, buyer, seller, and collector than scam and take advantage of people.
@@Poke_Monix And thanks for the comments and engagement! ❤️
Someone sold their Gengar VMAX alt art to gamestop PSA 9 and they are reselling it for 425 if your not a pro member lol
👀 Oh Boy!
Good content man!
🫡 Back at ya! 😉
IDK, call me crazy, but i think any big store getti g involved in the hobby is a good thing for the hobby. A lot of parents probably dont go to card stores, but they will do gamestop. Also, I wouldnt plan on them being the number one way to sell your cards, but if I want a quick $60 game on launch and dont want to spend cash..... Ill just grab some undesired slabs, and see what ones are fair.
The quick cash is going to be appealing to a lot of people. Also, you would be surprised how many people will not open their own ebay account to sell their cards. I sell a few of my friends slabs on consignment for them.
Awesome video though! Fun watch!
You’re CRAZY! 🤣 J/K
You make a great point, but the local card shop is where community is fostered and for a big box store to comment the hobby with no real intent to foster a hobby and have predatory, questionable practices is concerning.
The convenience factor is appealing and make sense!
Thanks for the comment!
You have a very likeable personality. What GameStop likely did was create ridiculously-varying prices so people would cause a stir over the prices for items that don't even exist for sale yet, thus spreading the news about them entering this market even further.
🤔 An interesting and unique thought!
And thank you for the kind words. I appreciate it and glad you’re part of the community!
Bro, nice job with the channel growth! Just a few days ago you were under 250 subscribers and now you're above 300. Well done!
Thank you!
Trying to grow. I appreciate everyone that’s helping. Just wanna build credibility, trust, and good content! Want my dream to become reality.
@@TheCardFatherTCG Keep it up! The only way to make your dreams a reality is by actively working towards it. You've got great support from the community and PokeNE is always showing you love. You got this brotha!
Im really trying to follow your logic on how this effects of small shops, and it's just not tracking. If GameStop jacks the prices up, yeah, they might get someone who doesn't know better to buy it, but for the most part, people will just go to the local stores or online. It only hurts GameStop.
This will hurt local shops in 2 ways...
1. Because of GameStops predatory practices, small shop don't have locations or presence like a corporation does. They don't have the marketing resources and don't have massive influence except to the local community. When you corporatize the hobby and market with predatory practices, for example that I've shown in the video, you are essentially drying up the intake and outflow of supply. LGS rely on repeat business to survive. It's like a mom and pop shop being out run but a big box store.
2. You'd think that price gouging would have a major positive effect for small shops, but it's accurately negative to the small businesses and to the consumer. If GS buys at 20% and resells for 100%, even though a lGS can buy at 30-40% and then sell for 90-95%, you'll see the LGS loose on the profit side every time due to law of averages and connivence. It's already happening with big box retailers vs small businesses. LGS have to mark up prices to above retail to survive because they can't receive product at the massively discounted wholesale rate that big box stores are receiving on top of allocations being cut or reserved. This effect will apply to singles and graded cards as well. Because of GS inflating the market value of any one graded card, doesn't increase the overall positive spin for the market. It accelerates the market bubble to collapse and small business' can't survive that.
Also, Thanks for you comment!! 🔥❤️
Compare the prices to PSAs prices..i bet its closer to that. Gamestop hired a former PSA person
I do make mention of that and that they are using PSA’s price and pop guides integrated. 🤙🏻
By the way, I wholly agree with you, dude. To add to your way of seeing this, I am suspicious that PSA is in bed with Gamestop with this entire situation. That would be 100% market manipulation, and, maybe not entirely legal. Reminds me very much of the WATA video game scandal from a couple of years ago where they were, with the aid of Heritage Auctions, manipulating the market. That turned into lawsuits galore.
This!
And Thank You!
Gamestop will have a long term plan, I have no doubt they will treat it like a stock market portfolio. Accumulating cards, making them scarcer and cashing in generating cashflow in a few years time.
