How to crochet a children's pretty summer bolero / shrug

- This tutorial will show you how to crochet an easy bolero / shrug which can be made in any baby or children's size.
For my shrug I used a 5mm crochet hook and Drops Lima yarn (DK weight).

This was an amazing project! I made it for my teenaged daughter in a color I used long ago in her baby blanket. I added ten rounds before the sleeves, it turned out beautifully! She loved it and it was a reminder of a beloved keepsake from her childhood. So, I am going to try to make this in an even larger size for my mother; I don't see why it wouldn't work as long as I have a multiple of five in the foundation. I love your tutorials you explain everything and film every step so clearly, thank-you so very much!
Great video and so well explained, thank you very much. I have no idea what is not to like! Anyway thank you for taking the trouble and time to do this it is very much appreciated. I have a knitting brain so reading crochet patterns can be a challenge for me, or maybe it is my age so being able to watch the videos are helping me understand patterns a little better. I paid a lot of money for three classes and came out none the wiser, I wish I had found your videos before I wasted my money. Thank you once again, it is lovely you take the time to do this.

Hi, I just love your tutorials, I have made quite a few of your items. Seeing as I am from England the stitches are different from what you call them, our double crochets are your single ones and your double crochets are our trebles but I have got the hang of it now so I don't have to keep going to google to compare them. Just need help with what to do if by chance the width of the back ends up being more than required? Is there any way to gather the finished stitches to reduce the width?

Sleeveless , longer( over the butt) , and just a " tie down " in the front ? I know its asking quite a bit, . But I have been jonesing to do one for my 10 yo twin daughter, Tina. This shrug can technically be made in any size by just following the steps in the tutorial - make a larger foundation chain. I have only made childrens sizes though so cannot guarantee that it would work! Please let me know how your shrug turns out x
I have a doubt .. for sleeves in round 2 can u help me know the first 6stitch are double crochet in each stitch and then two double crochet in each stich but this has to be done for how many stitches ?

Technically you could make this shrug to any size using the steps shown in the video. I have only tried it up to children's sizes though so cannot guarantee that it would work! If you try it please let me know how you get on x

Yes but I think because the back is longer and the top is not that wide, the sleeves will be too wide 😕
