You do beautiful work! Thanks for no musical background, just lovely clear instructions! This is a beautiful garment pattern. It would be lovely in a 'stripes-of-many colors,' design. I think changing colors every 2 or 3 rows would be better than plain or variegated. Maybe a long-striping yarn but I would just change colors. Of course it would take me much more time than it takes you because I'm a slow crocheter but it would be worth it .

So since I've been asked by one of our hospitals in the city I live in to make bereavement preemie blankets etc for babies as their gestation is 12 wks & up I've been very busy...…………..I decided to make these shawls in mini size to fit these little angel babies & they are turning out absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much from this Canadian gal...………………..

Hi Gail, once you have finished the cape go back to the neckline attach the yarn and double crochet across but every third stitch do 2 double crochet in the same stitch keep doing this right across for about 35-40 rows depending on how big a hood you want then fold or in half and single crochet the I used eyelash yarn to add a fur border its stunning. Or you could make a bonnet and single crochet that to the neckline. Love crochet as it is so easy to mix it up and it makes up very quickly xx
