    I've been an avid kayak angler for 9yrs now. I'm on my second Hobie PA12, now the 360. I've never owned any fishing electronics until this past December. Between sales from Garmin, bass pro, Cabela's, coupon codes I got my 10" Garmin, the echomap Ultra 106sv, steady cast heading sensor, the newer Lvs34 system & amped outdoors 32ah 14.8v lithium battery for total of just under 2600.00!!! You can't even get a 10" from any brand for under 2800. I wired & rigged up everything myself. Made a diy ammo battery box with main power switch & 8awg trolling motor quick disconnect. I ran a 8 gauge marine wire inside my kayak from back to front under my front hatch. I have my LS module, Nemea 2000 backbone, fuse's all together under my front hatch mounted on a polymer plate I made. It's an awesome set up. I have same voltage at my units as directly from my battery. I can run everything on one battery about 14-15 hours.

    Great video! I just got a kayak myself, so learning all the things I can do with it!

    More bling on the kayak. It was good to meet you this past weekend at Lanier. The yak and trailer were as impressive in person as they are in the videos.

    I made a similar box but used wilderness thru hull grommets for the wires…. Works well

    Great Video! I'm too lazy to do those drilling and wiring. I use Velcro tapes to stick my ice fishing shuttle onto the dry box and a few bungee cords to enhance stability. it may not look very nice, but so far it works.

    Thanks for doing this video. I am looking at putting one on my kayak, what battery requirements are needed for a dedicated battery? Is it worth it to run all on one screen? I'd love 2 but I'm also trying to somewhat simplify.

    I'm using the Fishing specialties kayak bow ducer fory Lvs34 transducer with their ducer mount also. Way better that Garmin mount! You can change angles infinity for different depths for forward & perspective. I have a RipaLip sunshade. It's by far best sunshade I could find! Good prices & it can bet put & & removed in seconds. It's not plastic it's wrapped in a waterproof fabric like material, & can fold down to be used a scree protector also. Highly recommend the RipaLip sunshade & fishing specialties LS transducer pole with mount...

    The lvs34 system should have at least 10awg marine wire for power, according to their spec's. Of course you can use small diameter but you potentially sacrificing power, clearity & running high amperage to your module which can cause overheating. I do like the modularity of your set up though! I'd like to see more about you LS pole too. Everyone been taking hype about the seaclear power harnesses. All those are is 8awg marine wire & posi locks from connection points them wrapped in a pretty cover. Its cheap & easy to do yourself!!!

    Maybe try the squeeze down through O rings with some acrylic glue, then it's waterproof. Just a thought. Thanks Gene.

    I have a P127. What battery would you recommend for the Garmin setup identical to yours with two screens.

    What did you use to cut the slots for the wires?

    Anyone who has experience with this mount and using it with the garmin lvs 34 transducer, I have two questions. 1. When you tighten the garmin lvs34 transducer to the bottom of the pole, is it good and tight? Meaning, I have had experience with others poles and the transducer not being super tight, so the transducer would sliding up and down when trolling. 2. Is this pole able to put the transducer in perspective mode?

    I have a strange question for you Gene. If you weren’t fishing a tournament to where you have to get to a spot fast, would you choose the Xi3 or a stern mount motor? And why. I’m trying to decide which one to get by the thought of having the spot lock really makes me lean towards that.

    • @Flukemaster
      @Flukemaster  Před rokem +2

      Xi3 every day. More than anything it’s a fishing motor. You use it while you’re fishing. A stern mounted motor is just gets you there and that’s it.

    A little bit of Velcro will hold it in place.

    I think I remember you having multiple batteries, do you still store one in the back behind the black pack?

    • @Flukemaster
      @Flukemaster  Před rokem

      Yes, that's the battery for the motor. The one for all my electronics goes in the front hatch.
