The camera control is exactly how I hold the light for my father when he works on his car.
Truth!
Trying my best but knowing my father is still gonna get mad lol
@@danp4452 I know brother. Just giving you a hard time in a playful manner! Keep up the good work!
Jajajaja
🤣🤣
When I was a much younger man, a Harley with all possible accessories hanging off of it was commonly referred to as a “garbage barge.” 😎
Thanks Gene, I always enjoy your tips and rigging videos. Just got an SS127 and I'm in the process of rigging it up. I'm moving up from a smaller kayak. Now I'm considering a trailer........it never ends, just part of the fun.
I admire your enthusiasm and your videos are always interesting and full of good pointers.
That's right!! Skimping is a direct violation of the uniform code of kayak fishin justice!! Saving this video as well!! Thanks!
I can't wait for the ice to thaw!
I was just thinking this today!
I just bought my Hobie Outback with few frills. This is a WOWZER. Amazing setup. You do you man and good look in the tourneys
Amazing how far you've advanced your rigging. Simply awesome!
Ononononnonnono
Watched this video so many times and still get great info and ideas. Thank you Brother.
You wanted to say the paddle looks badass lol. Awesome video!
Now that’s one crazy set set
Brother, your head had to be BURNING with that hat on!!! That kayak is absolutely SICK! Good luck this tourney season!!
You know it!
Next is a remote controlled casting arm that you can work from your couch! You don’t even have to leave the house to catch fish now guys!
this is a scam
Great timing on this vid. I was just thinking about making some changes to my yak. You've given me some good ideas. Great content as always. Thanks Gene
You could use black plastic wire looming which is very inexpensive and you can
cut it to length you desire. Covers up wires and your hooks won’t get caught in it like it can in the rod cover material you currently use to cover your fish finder wire bundles. Just a thought
All I can say Gene is WOW! I look forward to seeing that rig in person on Roosevelt in a few weeks.
Love the setup, but I'm complete opposite about the net. I can't stand the bend in the handle and the arm cup on the leverage net. If they offered a straight handle version I'd probably get one. But I just use a short handle wade net that I extend the handle with PVC filled with foam, so it floats. I keep it up front, and the handle is long enough I don't lose fish going for it. My way isn't right for everyone, but it's right for me. ;)
The flukemaster has become the "kayakmaster"
that's an amazing setup! love all of your vids and have learned alot from you about fishing for bass. thanks!
Great, great video Gene! You always save me so much time in this sport. Good luck this year!
Nice rig setup! Thanks for the thorough walkthrough, ideas and some future problem solving.
I do the same thing with the yak attack cup holder. Use it as a catch-all for changing lures for the day.
this isn't real don't give him the $60 he's asking for to ship it
Awesome some great ideas! Like the power system
Very cool setup brother, just baught a couple 3 waters big fish 105 fishing kayaks for me and the wife. Got them at a gander rv on sale for $534 each.
Wow that yak is nice! One day I’ll hook my Native slayer propel 10 up. Need more money 1st🤣 Thanx for the motivation!
Glad to finally see this video. I'm trying to figure out my rigging solution as of now.
BRD SKIN on the kayak is looking strong 💪 Always enjoy your videos Gene!
love the integrity with the wager!😂
Love your channel sir!! Always great content!
What a setup! I wish I could bring myself to motorize mine. I'm not against motorizing kayaks, I'm against the stupid registration fees for it in my state. IMO anything under 5hp shouldn't require any kind of registration.
I think that anything electric should need to be registered.
@@Flukemaster And why is that? To create a barrier of entry? To make it more pay to play than it already is? Or do you like seeing the ridiculous ways that local government can burn your money? What's the purpose in requiring people that were already going under 5mph to pay to continue going under 5mph but now without paddles or peddles? I truly would like to know your take on this.
I live in NJ and have a Hobie PA 14 and the state nickel and dime us for every thing we do here and that’s one thing I’m not paying the state to register my kayak to put a trolling motor on I agree with you totally.
Hey Gene, can you talk about mounting the garmin transducer?
I saw your thing about the lowrance spacer deal. But now it looks like you have it nice and simple with the Garmin.
Hope the oil change helps bring the fish your way..... Somehow. Haha! Great meeting you this morning!
Me too!!
Well done! Very nice yak!
GO VOLS! Keep it up man, I enjoy the tips and tricks!
I can't believe how fast the Vols play this year. Their hurry up is awesome.
I had to laugh when he said “my paddle shop”… there ain’t nothing about paddling on that thing except for the emergency paddle. Lol. It’s very cool though
Gene, it was so cool seeing your rig at the BASSMaster classic in Greenville, SC. I appreciate that u left a bit of bird poop and some lures still lying around on it 😂
I don't think this is real
Two things. Sounds like you have your ohms law backwards. If you did go to a higher voltage system for your motor that would allow you to downsize your wiring. Higher voltage means less amperage. That's why transmission lines are tens of thousands of volts, 25kv I believe, yet are fairly thin. And second, I feel your pain with those long transducer wires. You can cut them and make custom length cables. Nothing magic about these cables. I personally went with 12 pin 1/3 turn bayonet panel mount connectors and matching plugs. I went with CNLINKO brand connectors and am very happy with them. However if you want MIL Spec connectors you could go with Amphenol or I think Raychem makes appropriate connectors for this purpose. If they're good enough to wire up the baddest attack helicopter on the planet, they are good enough for a Garmin fish finder. Doing this would probably void your warranty but Garmin also has break out boxes that will work for this. I think they are intended to wire 12 pin transducers to 8 pin plugs but could easily be used for this purpose.
Excellent presentation. I look forward to meeting you and seeing your set up personally when you come to Roosevelt Lake in a few weeks.
Drive safely. We enjoy our evening gatherings with a beer or two. You’ll be in good company.
Can't wait!
Lmao was otw to a video shoot today an noticed a super advertised truck flying with a trailer driving on the interstate with me an here I am 😭
Wes is a monster, jeebus Gene that isn’t a kayak it’s a stealth fish assassin boat. I need to get down to Wes and have him put some lights in my yak. Hey when are you going to do a vid on the pedal 127?
At least its not a cap from that other SEC school... Been considering my next level up kayak to be a SS127.
I really love that paddle color, I have the same paddle but different color, fantastic paddle
You travel with the trolling motor and fish finders on your kayak? Great videos, I have learned alot of stuff watching your videos.
Amazing setup
I am always learning from you man! Awesome set up!
Looks better then a Michigan Wolverines hat
I just seen him on the direction show and this is the first video I seen and seen the comment were he says it's how he holds the flashlight and yes this is flashlight holding techniques at it finest.
Go Dawgs! I grew up in GA and wish so bad I could leave WV and come back
Gene, great video. I have the SS107 and I am learning a lot of where I want my gear to go. I’m still getting used to reaching behind me to grab my net or rod. Cannot wait to see your next video.
I don't think this is real man I got it too
Amazing Kayak, Fluke! I wish you were able to upload more fishing content, but I know the tournament series keeps you buys! Where can we watch the tournament videos?
Great point on the net.See it alot on CZcams .Guys looking down at their go pros to see if their recording have lost some good fish.Your kayak is ridiculous btw lol,I'm sure id be the same way though.I'm the guy that brings five(used to bring seven) setups, two large planos stuft, six slot squarebill and jig planos, 7-10 bags of plastics, aND a small(heavy) terminal box.I fish out a FLOATTUBE! lol Tell myself everytime SIMPLIFY,but never do
I want to see how to make that transducer mount
Great rig brother. Best of luck in 2022 I hope our pass cross somewhere out there on the water.
Hey Gene it was really cool talking to you at the classic you really are genuine cool guy
this seems like a scam
Thanks for sharing this. I love everything about this kayak but I'm torn between the ss127 and a pedal kayak. Could you give me some imput on a motor vs pedal drive. I will be fishing mostly lakes but occasionally some rivers. I definitely plan on tournament fishing.
Dear Gene,
My name is Michael Haley and I am 12 years old. I have recently gotten a kayak and I was wondering if I could have some tackle, tackle boxes, or kayak gear. Thank you so much for every thing you do. I am a huge fan and I am a subscriber. Once again thanks.
Best regards,
Michael Haley
Cool configuration! Look forward to watching you fishing from it in future vids!
check this before you pay he said I won a $1000 reel di you win too
@@cameronyoung2004 how do you win something if you have to pay ? :-)
@@nawinchester I've been pulling there leg for hours now. I'm enjoying trolling them
Gene, who does your wraps? I'm thinking on getting my setup done
My gosh Gene that thing is ridiculous! It gives me anxiety just thinking about how to control everything!!!
Cool video bud. Thumbs up for the new hat ! 😀
Love it now let's go catch some fish God bless be safe keep fishing
Thanks for the info. I just sold my Bixpy and will be buying the Xi3 Sunday. CAN"T WAIT!!!!!
Hopefully I can get that deployment system set up too. Hope to see you on the water again soon.
Have you used this trolling motor in salt water? I fish salt several times a year and wanna make sure I don't mess it up.
Your videos are always filled with so much information. I’ve been considering a SS127 but, being a bit large the seat sitting higher has me concerned. I can drive a few hours for one in stock. I’m 5’8” 285 currently. I currently have a Vibe Shearwater 125 on order but, unsure when it will actually ship. I’d definitely prefer to buy American made. Both seem like great kayak fishing platforms. I live in Illinois near St. Louis so, I will be fishing mainly ponds, small lakes, and some spring fed rivers in Missouri. I’m also, considering a bow mount trolling set up as well. What’s your thoughts on stability for a guy a bit larger? I’m slowly losing weight but, very slowly. I’m considering picking the SS127 up and still getting the shearwater and just see what one best suits me. What are your thoughts? I also, absolutely love your trailer setup, especially the flags for your patriotism. I’m a Navy Submarine Veteran myself but, looking to keep this kayak on the surface. A new trailer isn’t in the cards yet as I’m just jumping into it all. I’ll be using an old jet ski trailer and have my father assist with some welding modifications since he’s a welder. I’m not planning on doing any tournaments this year but, maybe next year. Keep up the great informative videos. I’m open to any suggestions. Thanks Wade
I’ve set in both the Shearwater and the 127, both are great yaks. I went with the shearwater for the pedals and weight. I got it in December so haven’t really had a chance to fish out of it. I don’t think you can go wrong with either of these yaks…good luck
@@samh4232 Thanks!
Great video! Id like to see a trailer setup video to accompany this video.
It was great to meet you at the bassmaster expo. Your top notch man.
I just couldn't deal with all that on a kayak. I sold my fully outfitted NuCanoe F12. I'll get a jon boat at some point and pimp it out.
Great content 👌
Please do a jig fishing video with Edwin Evers or with another guest 🙏
Jig fishing so fun even if you can only watch someone do it.
Because my lakes are still frozen over in NS, Canada 🇨🇦 lol
this isn't real
This is THAT GUY at the ramp.
Awsome setup man!! I really dig that! Great video. Might look into that black pack. I got a hobie that has rod holders in the inside
ask him questions I think this is a scam
love your setup, love to watch all your videos i learn alot from it, really want to get a kayak for my local lake but they are still not letting any sit on top kayak
Hey Gene, my question to you is how do you launch your kayak? Do you back your trailer down to the water? Since that kayak is fully loaded and would take an hour to load and unload by hand. Please show or comment on how you do it. Thanks love the setup. Roy
Great video, I do have a gripe about the motorguide though, when they came out with the "kayak" version, I really thought they would have thought through the stow/deploy. It grinds my gears that after all the money spent for that motor we still have to makeshift something to deploy it.
It's just what deal with as kayak anglers. The only reason they came out with the Xi3 Kayak with the shorter shaft was to save people from voiding their warranty when they cut the shaft down theirselves on the original Xi3.
@@Flukemaster Yeah that makes sense. Such a gamechanger to be able to have pinpoint and panoptix on a kayak.
@@Flukemaster how has the motor held up over the years? I just ordered mine today. Any prop upgrades you recommend?
@@Flukemaster are you doing a giveaway of a Shimano stella?
Do a video on how the electronics are hooked up
Awesome set up and i really love the look of the bonafide. I need some advice here. I'm looking at getting the ss127 and could you help me with giving your opinion on why not to go with a pedal drive kayak. I really don't want to spend the extra money right now on the p127 but I feel I could add a motor on the ss127. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Gene a company needs to come out with a way to have a kayak to have a foot pedal on trolling motor. Stand up on the front of boat and sight fish easier 🧐. Need weight to balance that out though! What’s your thoughts?
I have a few ideas. Now I just need to pitch them to MotorGuide and see of one sticks.
What about the old town with the motor.
You ever feel uncomfortable with the gators in fl, some of those fishing kayaks are super low in the water
Do you have to add some water to that compartment for the transducer to work? Some say it’s necessary, some say it’s not.
Love the OU hat.
Gene happy new year!!!! I now this is and older video but I wanted to ask you how can I have my rudder and and micro power pole together ? I can see that is an one objective set up but can you tell me which one is it I really want to do my set up like that
For what purpose would you go to a 24 volt system? My Skeeter is using a 24v system and it's perfect. A 24v system would be overkill for a kayak.
Love the American flag.
Nice kayak setup
Not to be political, I just drove through Georgia and saw all the rebel flags on I -75. Coming from the north I just don't understand it.
Hi wonder about a bow mount trolling motor for my Big Fish120
WOW! I guess you are going to kick my butt?! Just wave as you are flying by. Nice setup though.
nice... amazing setup!
Hey Gene. Could I get your input between a few kayak choices. I have been looking at a Nucanoe Flint or Unlimited, Old Town Sportsman(Non-motor version), Or the Vibe Sea Ghost 130. They all have features that I like and don't like. Just not sure what the better option would be for Smaller-ish lakes, Ponds and rivers.
Can you go through the 9 rod set ups you bring with you to a tournament? That would be awesome! Huge fan!!!
The setups depend on the fishing. Like this week I have mostly cranking rods but last tournament it was mostly heavy rods with braided line and 20lb fluoro. It just depends.
@@Flukemaster are you doing a giveaway away for a $1000 reel?
btw a brand called yak gadget has a better cup holder for baits and it’s a small business
Congrats by the way on the Ga. natty! And that’s from a Bama fan! Question. I’m new to kayak fishing and I bought a Pelican Catch 100 . It’s thirty six inches wide or so and looks like it’s designed to stand up on. Grippy floor pads and all. But the first time I tried standing up and making a cast, it was really sketchy! Is that just a comfort thing that I just have to get accustomed to or do I need a different/wider brand kayak?
I have a catch 100 also. I’ve had it about a year now. At first it seemed really sketchy standing up to cast in it but it gets better with time. Also, make sure the weight is equally distributed. Good luck and happy fishing.
@@leesonwineski994 Thanks! I’ve been a few more times and I’m getting accustomed to it. Took less rods and tackle and that helped.
Is there no way to simply shorten the long transducer wires? Seems fairly easy?
About time lol, did you put navigation lights on your yak, I like the livescope mount
Love the set up
Sweet YAK
I just wanted to know what kind of kayak you use. Didn’t see you address it.
Good hat
I have a 1982 Warrior one man sneak boat that I inherited. I don't like the stability of it while standing and bass fishing. It's really designed for shell cracker and smaller species fish. My Q is do you or can you stand up in these and how do you get to you tackle in the back???
Question on the ss127.
Better to have a motor in the back or front?
I recently tore a rotor cuff and can not padel far. Wife agreed to fund a motor and setup .
Gene, do you have to have the rudder? I’m fixing to put a trolling motor on my ss127. Also what size fuse did you put in the wiring from trolling motor to batteries?
Get 2 FPV LiFePo4 12 x 50 AH Dimensions: 6 3/4 x 5 3/8 x 3 3/4

Hey Hey great vid. Any change you can add a link for the three prong plug for the Trolling motor?
Amazing review.👍
