I bought one of these a few weeks ago in 256G configuration. I put a ton of movies on it and plug it into the TV at my cabin where the internet service is almost nonexistent.
So weird how your channel is underrated but you made such good videos. Btw I have had iPad Pro 12.9 inch 3rd gen for a while and thanks for the video since I might just buy a sandisk now.
Its definitely worth it. Especially I only have the 64gb IPad Pro. Also its very affordable.
i dont know...... the build quality seems so cheap and for 10 bucks more you get twice the speed and metal housing on the samsung duo

@@memphisboyz4589 hmm, 1tb flashdrives are pricey so i would go for a 256gb one or a portable sdd with 1tb storage. Samsung T7 is very awesome as insane fast but if you dont need the speed then the T5 are great also. T7 does 1GB a sec while the T5 does half that speed but on a iphone with lightning port you wont notice th speed difference.
I have it but it doesn't work with my ipad pro 11", any ideas why ? It does work with the usb a side connected to a dongle but not directly with the usb c side...it really sucks and I don't know why it doesn't work. If anyone knows, please help !

I am having issues deleting files off of the drive through the files app. I will delete it from the drive, then go to either the iCloud or on my iPad tab and when i go back to the drive the file i just deleted reappears. Any suggestions?

Don't buy it, the lock gets so loose after about a year that it's nearly impossible to use it anymore

iOS 13 needs something like an image reader that visually shows the user how long the file will take to transfer. Ideally you may want to close any files that maybe open by closing the cache files that may still be running. Hold down both the power button and the volume button until you see the swipe to power off an press and hold the virtual home button to close said cache files.
It's hilarious how complicated transfering files to/from external devices is on the supposed "best" tablet. Video after video proving that everyone should be sticking to Windows and Android.
The speed issue/permisions issue/drive not showing up is an ios problem. Witnessed this on my colleagues ipad. Write speeds are fast on both windows and a samsung note 10+. It's a very good drive if not using on ios.

How do you check the memory space of the flash drive on the iPad Pro? I have the 128gb and when I plug into my iPad Pro and go to files I wanted to check the memory space but I couldnât find where I can check the memory that way I would know how much was used and how much space I would have left so I wouldnât have to plug it to my laptop just to check the memory plus it would be inconvenient if I only had my iPad Pro with me and not around any computers/laptops.

totally not built for speed but i still use it to offload big files from my ipads. i find it easier to use an SD card with the adapter.

All my externals are formatted with MacOS ext journaled-2/1T Lacies (1 is Thunderbolt 2 but also has USBa), a WD 4T USBa and a Samsung T5 SSD. I also bought a 64GB Sandisk dual when I was using the Ipad OS beta on my gen 1 12.9 Ipad Pro with lightning port ( and the USB w/power port adaptor). I use all now with 2018 12.9 Ipad Pro/USBc.

Unos Riptom really simple, buy an hdmi to usb c adapter and plug it into the iPad then the tv and youâre mirroring.
I was just looking at this drive and Samsung duo drive on amazon.
Mecko bought one a few weeks ago. It works great for me. You can even save your pictures on it direct from the photos app. Donât need to format or anything just leave as is and it works on Windows. Only thing Iâve noticed is it gets hot if you leave it plugged in to long.

Got the 64gb version of this drive and write speeds on this are averaging about 70mb/s. Copied over a media folder with about 4gb of content and it was quick and reliable. Will need to try a singe, large file as a test.
The USB transfer speed is very slow on your iPad Pro with USB-C 3.1 port.
4 GB with 70 MB/s transfer speed.
My OnePlus 7 Pro phone can with smiliar size (1x 5 GB mkv video file) in 16s = 320 MB/s.
@@ccvolt2165 This drive itself is capped around 70MB/s write although iOS external drive speeds are noticeably slower than desktop counterparts with the same drive.

70 MB/s (iPad Pro) versus 320 MB/s (Android phone).
Most mid-range notebooks from 2013 onwards with HDD memory and USB 3 connection make 150 MB/s.
With current SSD about 400 MB/s. Even 5G smartphones are theoretically faster than the iPad Pro with wired transfer.
You can clearly see that the iPad Pro is very slow.
Apple has never fixed this problem. Since 1 year after the release with so many updates this problem is not fixed.
It is the slowest of all USB 3 devices I have seen and that for a product from the end of 2018.
@@ccvolt2165 This drive also only gets 70MB/s write on my Mac and Windows laptop as that is the drives limit, you would get the same speed on your devices! In comparison, I have a Sandisk Extreme USB-C SSD that is noticeably much faster on my iPad Pro - I haven't timed this on the iPad pro but it I'm guessing in the 300MB/s + range. That drive is quicker on the Mac and Windows than the iPad though, and ths is something that Apple need to improve on as well as a progress indicator!
